Freshest

ColourPop Freshest Fresh Kiss Lip Crème ($8.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a brighter, medium coral-orange with strong, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had less of a glossy finish compared to other shades as it seemed on the thinner side overall.

  • Opaque color, even coverage
  • Creamy, smooth consistency that felt lightweight and non-sticky
  • Even, fluid application with little to no color settling into or emphasizing lip lines
  • Longer-wearing (5 hours), lightly to moderately hydrating

Formula Overview

$8.00/0.24 oz. - $33.33 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to be a "hybrid" product that has the "colour of a lipstick with the care of a lip balm" in a "creamy matte finish." They described the coverage as "buildable." They feature a flexible, doe-foot applicator that has a more rounded side and a more slanted, triangular side (the latter worked well for getting crisper lines of color).

The product had more semi-opaque to opaque coverage in a single pull of product, though one could certainly use just one side's worth of the applicator product to achieve sheerer, more buildable coverage if desired.

The consistency was mousse-like with an airy, velvety-smooth feel that made it easy to spread across my lips and kept it comfortable to wear. It wasn't clingy, but there was a bit of adhesion without tackiness, the kind I tend to find is present with more velvety, silicone-heavy formulas like this one.

It has a more cream-like finish that wears down to a soft matte finish after an hour or two. They don't have a full dry-down, so they are not transfer-resistant or ultra long-wearing. They lasted between four and six hours with deeper, more red-toned shades tending to last the longest and leaving behind light stains. They were lightly hydrating over time. There didn't appear to be a scent, and there was no taste.

They are much lighter-weight and less "wet" in feel going on initially compared to the brand's prior Ultra Satin formula. The Ultra Satin formula adhered more and was very long-wearing, and while not initially transfer-resistant, it was more transfer-resistant after an hour or two of wear.

Nice and Slow

ColourPop Nice and Slow Fresh Kiss Lip Crème ($8.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a light, caramel brown with warmer undertones and a lightly glossy, cream finish. It had some visible streaking along the edges, though not enough to be noticeable in person.

  • Semi-opaque color, slightly streaky coverage
  • Creamy, smooth consistency that felt lightweight and non-sticky
  • Slightly uneven application, light settling into deeper lip lines
  • Average wearing (4 hours), lightly to moderately hydrating
