ColourPop Deluxe Super Shock Shadow
ColourPop Shaaanxo Super Shock Shadow Set ($20.00 for 4 x 0.07 oz.) includes four earth-toned shades of cream eyeshadow. The four shades worked well together, and they could easily be used with other shades in the ColourPop formula. Three of the four performed very well, while the matte green fell short (though not a complete miss).
Deluxe is described as a “warm red bronze [with a Pearlized finish].” It’s a medium-dark brown with warm, copper and bronze shimmer that give it a light pearl finish. It had excellent color payoff that applied evenly, smoothly, and blended easily. The color wore well for ten hours before creasing slightly. ColourPop Bandit (P, $5.00) is darker, less shimmery. Tom Ford Beauty Spice (LE, $42.00) is more shimmery. Make Up For Ever S602 Cinnamon (P, $21.00) is less shimmery, less brown. Make Up For Ever I634 Praline (P, $21.00) is lighter. MAC Femme Fatale (LE, $15.00) is lighter/ Sisley Paris Toffee (7) (P, $47.00) is warmer. theBalm C4 (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery. MAC Exposed (LE, $15.00) is darker, more muted, less brown. MAC Antiqued (P, $15.00) is redder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Rebel is described as a “mid-tone khaki green [with a Matte finish].” It’s a muted, medium-dark olive green with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had decent color payoff where the actual coverage is higher, but it looks like a faded, softened version of how it looks in the pot. It wore well for eight and a half hours, but it seemed prone to fading faster than a lot of other shades I’ve tried in the formula. Kat Von D Cult (LE) is lighter. Makeup Geek Dirty Martini (P, $5.99) is darker. Kat Von D Gunner (LE) is darker, cooler-toned. NARS Mozambique (P, $25.00) is similar. MAC Velvet Moss (DC, $15.00) is darker. Inglot #121R Middle (P, $6.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Selfie is described as a “mid–tone peachy brown [with a Matte finish].” It’s a muted, medium orange with warm undertones and a satin sheen. It had good color payoff that applied evenly and blended well. This shade stayed on well for ten hours before fading. MAC Satin Ochre (Right) (LE) is similar. LORAC Camel (LE) is darker. Make Up For Ever M726 Sienna (P, $21.00) is darker. Make Up For Ever M720 Apricot (P, $21.00) is lighter. LORAC Nude #3 (LE) is darker. Wet ‘n’ Wild Newport Nights #5 (LE) is similar. MAC Samoa Silk (DC, $15.00) is lighter. Inglot #368 (P, $6.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
XO is described as a “light champagne [with a Pearlized finish].” It’s a brightened, light golden beige with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had good color payoff with a soft, lightly creamy consistency that spread evenly across the skin and lasted for ten hours. LORAC Uninhibited (P) is lighter. MAC Natural Vigor #2 (LE, $21.00) is darker. Dior Golden Shock #5 (LE) is less shimmery. Anastasia Blush (LE, $12.00) is lighter. MAC Sweet Sovereign (LE, $15.00) is similar. Too Faced Nutmeg (LE, $16.00) is similar. Ardency Inn Sunday (P, $21.00) is brighter. Maybelline Beige-ing Beauty (85) (LE, $6.99) is similar. Maybelline Barely Brazen (P, $6.99) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Wonderful! Except that I don’t have access to this brand of course… but maybe some day!
They have been adding int’l these days! I THINK (but don’t quote me) that this collab with Shaaanxo was to celebrate shipping to Australia + New Zealand.
I actually read somewhere that they plan on introducing international shipping on 2015. And honestly, I can’t wait for it! The brand intrigues me more and more…
All gorgeous shades!
Agreed!
After reading the overview for the Hourglass palettes I was hoping that bad formulations would not be a trend for 2015, drugstore or high end. Even with the one B for the green, it still does a whole lot better than the Hourglass palettes which is veryyy nice to see. 😀
ColourPop continues to impress 🙂
Looks good! I love Colour Pop. Only issue I am having is that I have not yet been able to get my organizing storage system together. Soon though..hoping it’s going to be a bday gift ! I just have trouble with storing them and then the jars. it’s too much work for the daily for me,lol. Great product though and can not beat the price! I may be adding to my collection if I can figure a way to better organize these. This set I was looking at. So, glad it got your seal of approval. And I am so thankul for the dupe list! I have my next set of 3 MUFE shadows now! Although, I may posiibly need to skip a week and get some Z palettes to control the 3-pan madness! lol..I love this color combo! Look is fabulous!
I totally just realized that the rebel dube I2IR is Inglot. Dies MUFE have anything close to Rebel that you can think of? I love that shade!
nicole will you keep me apprised of if you figure out a good way to store these for easy access?
I will Connie Lee.But, I have been pretty busy. At this point, they are all in a gallon sized zip lock bag inside my shadows drawer..it is annoying. I know other people have found sewing boxes with appropriate sized slots to hold the containers. Sorry. I am going to work on it. I am not the most organized person. I thought of maybe a magnetic board. It would be a lot of work and time. But, so far it has been the best solution I have come up with to make them visible since they cant be depotted.
Gorgeous!
It’s a great combo!
Pretty! I was trying to decide which eyeshadows to try first and this set is right up my alley. I’ll probably order this with two lippies for free shipping yay!
Nice!! 🙂
I like the color combo! Great for spring, summer, and whenever army green khaki is in fashion.
The color combo is lovely 🙂 Wearable with a little oomph.
I’m obsessed with these. I’ve just made my 3rd order. And going to try some of the lippies too! The only thing is that I find out they dry out over time, even with tightly screwed caps. Though, they still perform well. (The first ones I bought were in the summer.) Overall, I can see them eventually drying out … but for $5, I don’t mind re-buying my favorite colors (which so far include Truth, Smash and Amaze).
Haha!! You and me both. Every time I get an email from them about new products, I’m like, “Ooh, really? *add to cart*!”
As long as they dry out at the same pace as say Chanel, Dior, MAC, etc., then I’m fine with it (hopefully they don’t dry out quickly, period, though).
Really? I’ve had some since June and none of mine are drying out. How peculiar!
I store mine upside down, inside a plastic ziplock baggie or airtight box. So far they’ve done all right. My oldest ones are 6-7 months old.
Love color schemes like this. This would be 100% my jam if it weren’t for Selfie, which is a little too orangey for me. But, I might feel differently come summer- is this permanent?
Selfie works really well as a transition shade, too, with the other shades layered on it. I believe it’s permanent, but exclusive to the set – their collaborations seem to be permanent, though in my mind, I technically see them as potentially being discontinued more easily than singles. I don’t know what agreement(s) they have between themselves and the collaborator.
I do want it lol. I’ve been holding back on buying any of these because even though they’re cheap I can see going overboard and in six months time having like ten of these that are barely used and dried up 🙁 . But maybe I can buy just this quad for starters and use the heck out of it. I wish the quad’s price was a deal. Can’t I buy any 4 shades for $20?
Yeah, I hear you! I wish the “quads” were more like $18 or something. At least a little deal? since you’re committing to those four specifically and can only purchase them together, so you may not actually WANT all four equally.
Hee! Selfie is the only one from this kit I want! If you’re ever looking for someone ti split it with, I’m your gal! 😀
(Also, Christine, FYI, I think Inglots cost $7 ea now. I was looking at them recently.)
Colour Pop certainly is giving those of us who have an extensive stash the way to fill in the color holes, and stay within our means. Thank you for bringing these to us + your inimitably honest reviews. Color Pop certainly proves that good does not necessarily mean expensive. Think i’ll get another Z + start filling it with Color Pops. Also a great way for new pros to extend their color ranges.
Lovely! This isn’t a combo I’d expect Shan to put out (well, based on the few vids of hers I’ve seen) but it’s great nonetheless! I love to see these collabs 🙂 This makes me wish Colour Pop was more accessible to me!
This eyeshadows look gorgeous on you. What kind of brush did you use to blend the green so well?
I got a few of this eyeshadows they are really good.
The same one I used to apply it, which was probably a MAC 239!
I really want to try this brand!
XO isn’t bad!
I like the grassy green with the earth tones. It looks like the green would benefit from primer.
I would love to get this, mostly because Shaaanxo is one of my favourite youtubers ♥ but also because the colours look amazing and I can see myself wearing them on a daily basis. If only ColourPop shipped to my country…
Very shaaanxo! I was just watching KathleenLights video about LA (january 23rd) and hearing about her collaboration experience with colourpop to create her upcoming quad was quite interesting.
Oh goooosh I NEED Selfie in my life except I don’t because I already have the Inglot dupe that I don’t even use that often because I don’t look great in warm tones
*debates buying Selfie anyway*
The color combination is so perfect! I could see myself using these shades a lot.
Pretty application on you.
I got this quad and for me it was the perfect place to start with Colourpop. I was a little dismayed at how dark Rebel was so I was actually glad when it looked a little lighter and kind if faded when I swatched it; I love it. I totally understand being a little but disappointed with it, though, since a color should look like what you see in the pot.
Love their products. Amazingly pigmented. Love everything about the company but sadly realized I’m totally allergic.anyone else have that? I get a burn from something in the products. So bummed.
I got that burn when I put on the Lippie stick topanga, which is the only satin I own. All of the matte lipsticks were fine, the eyeshadows are fine, but topanga INSTANTLY burned when I put it on and my lips almost went numb. Now Im scared to try their other satin finish lipsticks. Im not sure if it was just the specific colour or the finish I’m allergic to. Even the one cream I have slightly tingles at first but it’s not bad too bad.
The only colour I really liked was Rebel – but that looked a little too matte for me. The other colours are lovely but don’t suit my cool tones. However it is great to see them getting good ratings – Hourglass should be looking at this.
What a groovy idea! And, Christine… Wow! 😀 It’s as if these were made for you! Your eye looks effortlessly stunning!
Such lovely colors! I really need ColourPop shadows in my life. (:
I wanna try them so bad!!! But they don’t ship to my country. 🙁
Just ordered this palette and a couple of their lippie stix, can’t wait to try them out. They look beautiful 🙂
I just placed my first order from Colour Pop and I am SO excited to get it and try them out. I have seen too many good reviews to skip out on them. I saw this palette, and I love ShanXo, but I felt like the colors were too dupable to take the plunge… but for the price, after seeing your review I am tempted to go back and order this. The colors look lovely together, and will make a nice color palette for spring into summer. Thank you for another great and honest review!
How do you apply these? With regular shadow brushes?
I use MAC’s 239 or a flat synthetic brush!
*party celebrations for this brand shipping to NZ now!* Shannon is a YouTuber that I have quite a soft spot for, all things told. She has a completely opposite style to me, but she’s very sweet and funny and her Kiwi-ness makes me happy.
I’m not really a fan of the colours in this particular collection (for myself), but I’m glad they work well, and I love the beautiful Autumnal look you put together with them, Christine!
I adore this brand and their customer service is wonderful. I emailed them when one of the shadows in my last order arrived shattered. They had me send a picture of the shadow and had a replacement in the mail to me the next day. I’ve loved every single one I’ve tried – they’re magic! Definitely want this quad!
