ColourPop Clay It Cool Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Clay It Cool
ColourPop Clay It Cool 10-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($16.00 for 0.49 oz.) is a new, warm-toned neutral palette that included five matte eyeshadows, four shimmer eyeshadows, and one cream eyeshadow. The quality was consistent with past ColourPop eyeshadows; most shades were pigmented, blendable, and easy to work with and the downsides were light powderiness with most mattes and a touch of dryness with a couple of shimmers.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Odd that a palette called “cool” has all warm-tone shades.
I thought that too, until I realized that ‘cool’ was used in the ‘awesome’ sense.
While quite pretty and utilitarian, I’m pretty sure that these shades are spread out all throughout my gazillion palettes. What I do like? This would be the perfect palette to gift someone who is coming out of a DV shelter and is now looking for work and a fresh start.
This format reminds of a couple the brand did a few months ago – Set in Stone, Heart of Stone – which was of very good quality too. Love the shimmers in this palette, and a gain wish they would put in more of them.
Oh good. Just what we all need from CP…more warm neutrals 😂
