ColourPop Afternoon Delight Pressed Powder Bronzer Review, Photos, Swatches
Afternoon Delight
ColourPop Afternoon Delight Pressed Powder Bronzer ($8.00 for 0.23 oz.) is a medium-dark brown with warm, yellow undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-sheer pigmentation that was somewhat buildable, but it was hard to get truly opaque coverage out of it due to the powdery, drier texture that made it feel less smooth. I was surprised at how poorly it applied and how much work it was to buff the bronzer onto my skin. The color was barely-there, even though the bronzer is several shades deeper than my skin tone, due to so little of it adhering to the skin. On me, it lasted for seven hours before fading noticeably.

ColourPop's Pressed Powder Bronzer is supposed to have a "super velvety-soft" feel that yields a "natural tanned glow." There was no mention of coverage, but the brand's promotional swatches showed full coverage. The bronzers had a soft, silky texture that was slightly powdery in the pan but tended to apply with ease, blended out nicely, and sat well on the skin. The majority of the shades seemed to have a semi-matte to satin finish, which helped them glide on and appear more natural (in finish) on the skin. The wear ranged from eight to eight and a half hours on me.

Based on how well the dupes performed, this one should have been easy for CP to knock out of the park…..Obviously not the case. Reminds me that we are always quite surprised by any seriously underperforming CP product. Guess that’s a backhanded compliment. Looks subtle and pretty on you, though.
I hate seeing low grades on ColourPop makeup, even when it’s not a shade that interests me, like this one. I’ve had such great experience with this brand, it is sad to see them release something that looks so bad.
I am always shocked when a brand that has pretty much always hit the mark, makes a misstep. I start worrying that this is the end of good quality, even though I know that every brand has the occasional misstep. I am particularly troubled when the brand offers products at the lower end of the cost spectrum because so many rely on their products as that is what they are comfortable spending. This shade would have been way to dark for me so not a sad thing for me but for others I wish it was better.
I hate to say it, but it looks a little muddy especially with your swatch on your hand! I could see where this may not look great on the face!
You can really see how dry that one looks just from the arm swatches. Afternoon Delight is anything but “delightful*, I gotta say!
