Brown-pink mauve on neutral days when I feel like only wearing lipstick would look too unfinished and I don’t have time to do much make-up, but I definitely gravitate towards coral otherwise and will almost always choose it when picking blushes from a new collection!

Soft, dusky pinks, like NARS Douceur or MAC Blushbaby. I also like nudes & subtle plums. My entire blush stash is made up of these 3 shades, and to the “average” person, they’d all look almost alike, LOL!

I will wear bold eyes, and “unconventional” lip colors, but I like to keep my base products more natural looking.

True reds are the closest color to a natural flush, so usually a wash of Nars Exhibit A is what I go for. It’s a matte shade, I really buff it into the skin and layer it to the intensity that I want, rather than try to get it right in one sweep. It looks very natural on me, and doesn’t emphasize any pores. Buffing doesn’t disturb my foundation, because it’s rare if I ever wear any!

Cool toned pinks! The hunt is still on though, nothing seems cool enough on my cheeks. Illamasqua Katie, Nars Gaiety, Nars Desire, Sleek Santorini, Mac Azalea – all great, but once they hit my cheeks, they warm up incredibly 🙁

Coral and orange. My cheeks are naturally pretty rosey, so even with a good base I find it hard to apply red or pink toned blushes in a way that doesn’t just look like I’ve skipped foundation. A good orange blush though can blend with the raspberry tones on my skin and create the most gorgeous flush.

Neutral tawny/mauve colors and true peaches. I also love red toned blushes, because applied lightly they give a natural sun kissed color to the cheeks!

Since the fall and now into the winter, I have been gravitating toward neutral shades. I have even used some lighter bronzers on my checks. I wear a lot of reds and browns in the cooler months and these colors seem to go nicely with my clothes choices right now. Usually, I am a peach oriented kind of gal when it comes to blushes, so this is a change for me . I just ordered a Kevin Aucoin blush in neutral (my first blush from this line and ouchy expensive) and I am excited to try it out.

Neutral, gingery, dusty colors I find hard to describe, the kind of color that’s often suggested for redheads. Laura Mercier’s Wild Bouquet is my favorite, Lancome’s Miel Glace and NARS Douceur are close.

Lately though, I’m all about soft mauve/plum, especially Rituel de Fille’s cream blush Desire. I think I need more color to survive the Boston winter.

I usually alternate between my Maybelline Dream Bouncy blushes in Fresh Pink for Summer and Plum Wine for Winter. I want to try some of the peach and coral colors this summer though, so we’ll see! I’m very fair and cool, so just the slightest touch of blush is a natural flush, and anything more is treading towards clown territory.

Blue-based pinks like Cargo Bali, MAC Coy Girl and MAC Gentle. I also use NARS Orgasm and NARS Deep Throat regularly. I guess they’re a mix between peach and coral.

Christine, I’d love it if you would review Cargo blushes. They’re very high quality.

Fuchsia blushes and blue medium pink tones.
Burberry Hydrangea Pink, Armani 507 Flesh, Mac Peony Petal, Mac Bred for Beauty, Mac Whole lotta love are some of my favorites.

I love anything coral, peachy-pink, or orange-toned. Since I have a warmer complexion I think these are the shades that look best on me, plus they are the prettiest, IMO!

I would definitely say I gravitate towards peach blushes. I think they look very natural on my fair skin, and I like the way they apply.

That’s interesting because I have just been looking around for a new blush. I decided to try the NYX sunkissed palette. I like peachy and coral tones. Nars Laguna works well too. But I prefer blushes that are multi toned to give a bit of contouring and highlighting as well.

Donna Avatar

normally a cool based pink unless I’m wearing warmer tones in my clothing, then I go for the corals. I’m lucky to be a neutral based person but I seem to gravitate to cooler colors.

Coral and warm berry tones look best against my light-medium neutral brown skin. The right shade of peach, orange and bold red are still on my “to-blush list”…

I don’t wear blush cause I don’t want to highlight my cheek’s skin marks and flakiness (both powder and creams highlight that), but I’d go with coral, too, or a light olive-beige
