Clionadh Duochrome Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches (Part 3 of 3)

Clionadh Crucible Duochrome Eyeshadow

Crucible

Clionadh Crucible Duochrome Eyeshadow ($5.25 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark purple with cooler undertones and a more metallic finish with flecks of larger gold sparkle throughout. The consistency was creamier and slightly thicker, which helped the sparkles bind with something and minimized the opportunity for fallout.

It had opaque color coverage that picked up well with a brush and had good adhesion to bare skin. It stayed on well for eight hours with a very small amount of fallout overall.

There do not appear to be any specific claims made for the brand's regular eyeshadow range, so being held to typical industry claims (as well as looking at the brand swatches), I'd expect rich pigmentation along with being blendable. The brand has an assortment of finishes, and the price point varies from finish to finish and has some variance within finish as well, but they tend to range from $6.00 CAD to $8.00 CAD, which converts to around $5.00 to $7.00 USD.

The more shimmery formulas were similar; they tended to be dense, lightly creamy, and blendable with excellent pigmentation and minimal chance of fallout. Some of the more sparkly shades felt more loosely-pressed while a few metallics were more emollient to the touch. They typically wore between eight and eight and a half hours on me before fading visibly (without primer).

Clionadh Hex Duochrome Eyeshadow

Hex

Clionadh Hex Duochrome Eyeshadow ($5.25 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium lavender base that was ever-so-slightly warm-toned to my eye paired with pink-to-gold shifting shimmer. It had a metallic finish that was shiny and smooth. The eyeshadow felt lightly creamy, dense but not too thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan. It had rich color coverage that lasted well for eight and a half hours before creasing faintly.

Clionadh Elixir Duochrome Eyeshadow

Elixir

Clionadh Fog Duochrome Eyeshadow ($5.25 for 0.06 oz.) has a dirty, greenish-pewter base with brighter, warmer gold shimmer paired with a metallic finish. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that wasn’t too firmly-pressed into the pan nor too thick, so it was easy to pick up with a dry brush and adhered smoothly to bare skin. It lasted well for eight and a half hours before showing signs of wear.

Clionadh Fog Duochrome Eyeshadow

Fog

Clionadh Elixir Duochrome Eyeshadow ($5.25 for 0.06 oz.) is a faded, medium bluish-teal base with contrasting green-to-gold shifting shimmer paired with a metallic finish. It had mostly opaque color coverage–the shimmer gave it the effect of full opacity in practice, but the actual base seemed slightly translucent.

The consistency was soft, more loosely-pressed in the pan compared to most of the shades in the range, but it wasn’t overly fragile, so it wasn’t prone to fallout. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

I have Hex. It’s a good one if you want to go slightly left of neutral but not too colorful. It blends with the skin and somehow has a natural looking glow to it.

Are the descriptions of Fog and Elixir swapped by any chance? They seem more in line with the opposite pictures.

I made my first Clionadh order when they reopened last week, can’t wait to have the shadows in my hands! Your pictures, descriptions and review have been so helpful for ordering from the other side of the world.

We try to approve comments within 24 hours (and reply to them within 72 hours) but can sometimes get behind and appreciate your patience! 🙂 If you have general feedback, product review requests, off-topic questions, or need technical support, please contact us directly. Thank you for your patience!
