Clionadh Britt's Birthday Triology Review & Swatches
Britt's Birthday Triology
Clionadh Britt’s Birthday Triology Eyeshadow Trio ($16.90 for 0.18 oz.) is a new, limited edition trio that features three new single eyeshadows; two of which feature the brand’s new Sparkle finish. The sparkle finish is more like fine sparkle than very large particle-sized sparkle and definitely not glitter! They just had a more twinkling quality compared to the brand’s metallics, which tend to be quite smooth and reflective. All three shades were pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing–exactly what I’d expect from Clionadh.

Nightmare
Nightmare is a dark, plummy-taupe base with flecks of multi-colored sparkle throughout. It had a soft, more loosely-pressed texture but had enough binder in it to help the powder adhere evenly to bare skin with minimal fallout. It had full color payoff that picked up readily with a dry brush and lasted nicely for eight and a half hours on me.

Mythology
Mythology is a deep, dirty green with cooler undertones and warmer, golden olive sparkle throughout an intense, metallic finish. It had opaque color coverage paired with a creamy, slightly thicker texture that wasn’t overly dense, so it still picked up evenly on my brush and deposited well to bare skin. I’d recommend patting it into place, then blending, to avoid very minor fallout. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading slightly.

Bratty
Bratty is a bright, pinky-red with moderate, warm undertones and cooler, fuchsia pearl throughout a metallic finish. It was richly pigmented with a moderately-dense, lightly creamy texture that was easy to pick up with a dry brush and blended out well on bare skin. It stayed on nicely for nine hours before fading a bit.

Formula Overview
$6.00/0.05 oz. - $120.00 Per Ounce
There do not appear to be any specific claims made for the brand's regular eyeshadow range, so being held to typical industry claims (as well as looking at the brand swatches), I'd expect rich pigmentation along with being blendable. The brand has an assortment of finishes, and the price point varies from finish to finish and has some variance within finish as well, but they tend to range from $6.00 CAD to $8.00 CAD, which converts to around $5.00 to $7.00 USD.
The more shimmery formulas were similar; they tended to be dense, lightly creamy, and blendable with excellent pigmentation and minimal chance of fallout. Some of the more sparkly shades felt more loosely-pressed while a few metallics were more emollient to the touch. They typically wore between eight and eight and a half hours on me before fading visibly (without primer).

Just love Nightmare and Mythology shades – wishing that the brand had offered a cool toned and warm toned trio edition without the pinky red shade in the trio. But all are excellent quality.
^^^^^ What SHE said!!! I’m glad that pink shadow is of such good quality but it’s not a shade I’d ever use. The other two….swoon-city!
Nightmare and Mythology are pure love at first sight! Definitely want those two. Bratty is pretty, but likely not something I would use that often, as I have similar enough shades.
These are very pretty! I went to order them, but quickly changed my mind. The trio is $16.90 and they were going to charge me $12.99 for shipping. I’ll pass.
Yeah, they ship from Canada, so it is not free/low, unfortunately! I always recommend waiting and doing a larger order or thinking about the price per shade including shipping and see if that still feels like a good purchase.
Thank you, Christine, for that information! It’s very helpful!
I hope that you’re feeling a bit better with your arthritis. My dad has rheumatoid arthritis, so I know that it never goes away. I know that you can have good days and bad days, so hopefully, this is a good day for you. 😊
Thank you so much, Jessica! It’s been a struggle the last six months or so – definitely ratcheted up to the point where it’s a “thing” I have to deal with, lol.
Nightmare is extraordinary. I have nothing even close to this shade.
I wish they sold these as singles, not in a bundle as I don’t need any of the other ones. Maybe they will make this a permanent shade if we ask them to.
