Clinique's Fresh Bloom Spring 2009 Collection First Look
Tiger Lily Fresh Bloom Eyeshadow
Clinique’s Fresh Bloom Spring 2009 Collection is really the epitome of spring colors and shades. The promotional images for the launch indicated so, and the products themselves don’t disappoint! I think the Fresh Bloom eyeshadows ($16.50) are darling; the colors are all universally wearable. They’re colorful, but not overly so; they’re not colors you couldn’t work into your office makeup (for most of you, at least!). All four have good color pigmentation, and most of the colors have fairly frosty finishes.
Tiger Lily is a duo of light peachy-pink and coppery-peach.
Maple Blossom is a duo of silvery-gray and brownish-silver (like MAC Club, but better).
Apple Blossom is a duo of soft, whitish-silver and subdued pale, pastel green.
Cherry Blossom is a duo of a whitish-pink and light raspberry-pink.
Clinique also launched four shades of their Long Last Glosswear ($14.00) in Air Kiss, First Blush, Honey Shimmer, and Whisper. I only had the chance to check out First Blush (sheer peachy-pink) and Honey Shimmer (sheer reddish-copper with pink shimmer). I love the Long Last Glosswear formula for its long-lasting power, and I would definitely love to see some really bold, opaque shades launched in the future, as the two I tried from this launch were sheer like others I have tried before. Honey Shimmer was less sheer than First Blush, though.

Glad you like ’em! Any you’ll buy?
I am ALL over Maple Blossom! But before I run to Clinique, let me check my kit to see if I can’t recreate it with stuff I already own…lol.
LOL, did you find a way to recreate it?
Thanks for posting these! My update for Clinique was today but due to our icy weather it got rescheduled for like next week so thanks it gives me the will to last until then lol.
BOO icy weather! I fully expect you to report back with all sorts of nifty advice on how best to use this collection… after you’ve had a chance to play, of course!
The palette dosen’t overwhelm me – but I love silvery browns so I am gonna check out Maple Blossom tonight!
I agree — this collection is quite subdued, and I can easily see people dismissing it because of some of the other launches this season. But at the same time, these are a nice reprieve for colors that are very wearable.
This collection drove me to buy my first Clinique products in years and years (like nearly 25). I actually was at the store to check out that Lancome gloss you blogged about a few days ago. But there was no SA at the Lancome counter (and I stopped by several times over several hours that day). The Clinique counter was right next to the Lancome counter and I noticed the spring display (and the gift with purchase promotion) so I stopped. I checked the glosses and the shadows. The TigerLily shadow is beautiful. I’ve been wearing it everyday since I bought it and I never wear the same shadows each day I also got the HoneyShimmer gloss and again, I don’t want to stop wearing it. It looks great and goes with just about everything.
Aw, I’m glad you gave Clinique a shot. I like the way the shadows are designed, and it’s a design that doesn’t wear off after the first use!
