China Glaze Let it Snow Collection Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 3)
China Glaze Nail Lacquers in Blue Year’s Eve, Glittering Garland, Twinkle Lights, Icicle
China Glaze Let It Snow: Blue Year’s Eve, Glittering Garland, Twinkle Lights, Icicle
To round out China Glaze’s Let It Snow Collection, we have the final four: Blue Year’s Eve (shimmering blue), Glittering Garland (glittery green), Twinkle Lights (mix of glittery shades), and Icicle (silver shimmer).
- Blue Year’s Eve is a medium-dark blue with lighter blue shimmer. It almost has a violet edge to it. It was mostly opaque in two coats–there was a hint of visible nail line at certain angles. MAC Ming Blue was the closest dupe I could think of, but it is a bit darker.
- Glittering Garland is a deep, dark blackened-green base with lighter forest green shimmer–it almost looks like flakes of sparkle to me. It was opaque in two coats. The base color reminded me of China Glaze Jolly Holly but mixed with the shimmer from ORLY It’s Not Rocket Science.
- Twinkle Lights is a mix of gold, emerald green, and ruby red glitter suspended in a clear base. It was surprisingly opaque at two coats, and I’d expect a third to have made it opaque or just nearly. I couldn’t think of any dupes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few.
- Icicle is a bright silver foil with slightly darker silver micro-glitter. It dries super quick and was opaque in two coats. It looked a lot like China Glaze Cheers to You, but Icicle is slightly less metallic but not by much and a touch lighter.
I didn’t have any notable issues with the formula on these four.  Blue Year’s Eve was less pigmented than anticipated but still was just about opaque in two coats; I could only detect visible nail line faintly at certain angles under a fair amount of lighting.  Icicle seems the most dupeable out of this set, while Glittering Garland was the shade I felt stood out the most; there’s something about the way the shimmer is shaped and set in the base color.  These polishes weren’t too thick or too thin, had good, even flow, and applied easily.  I typically get a week of wear with minimal tip wear with China Glaze’s formula.

I bought a bunch from this collection already. So excited to wear them! 🙂 I’m especially loving the way Blue Year’s Eve looks on you, though. Thanks for swatching them!
Ooh, very fun!! What others did you grab?
Twinkle Lights could not possibly get any more Christmas-y! I swore off glitter polishes because they’re such a pain to get off, but I wouldn’t object if that one showed up in my stocking …
I know, right? SO Christmas in a bottle!
I love twinkle lights! Perfect for a holiday manicure!!
Would you wear it alone or layered?
I think I’d layer it over red or green.
OMG. THESE ARE SO PRETTY!!!! >:OOO
What’s your fave, Amy? 🙂
I already bought the Glittering Garland to go over black and the Icicle for next spring and summer.
Sounds like a gorg combo, Pawsha!
Wow I never would have expected Twinkle Lights to go that opaque. I’m gonna have to get that color, it’s so cute.
I was surprised, too!
Twinkle Lights reminds me of a Deborah Lippmann Collection polish… maybe Happy Birthday? But less chunky and over the top, which in my opinion isn’t a bad thing…
I’d say Happy Birthday has more color variation 🙂
Nice collection 🙂 🙂 I love it
Yay!
oh em gee!!!! Twinkle lights is like a blast in a glass ! (jersey shore)..haha ..so FUN !!!!
HAHA!!
Im loving Glittering Garland! its gorgeous! Im thinking of layering a coat of that with Blue’s Year eve and top it off with Twinkle Lights! ahh i can just picture how gorgeous that would be! Whats your fav from this collection Christine?
Glittering Garland I think 🙂 It’s hard to say!
wearing Twinkle Lights right now. I put it over a gold polish though as I’m not too fond of clear-based polishes
I bet that looks gorgeous!
oh my god, these are adorable !!
maybe those are the final push for me to stop biting my nails !
Painting nails is always a good trick to curb nail biting!
Glittering Garland is definitely a favourite for me. I love the forest green base.
Blue Year’s Eve is almost identical to OPI Swimsuit nailed it.. it’s also really close to Color Club’s Cold Metal from the foiled collction (I think that’s the blue one’s name LOL)
Swimsuit, Nailed It! is a blue foil. Blue Years Eve seems to be a glass fleck. They’re very similar in color but the finishes are quite different.
What it be too crazy to buy the entire collection?;) I love them all! Christine is there really any duds in this collection? Or one that’s not as good as the rest?
I don’t think so! 🙂 The blue one here was the least pigmented but not by much.
I bought the whole collection with the exception of Poinsettia. Perfectly acceptable! lol
Icicle is so pretty, I already have a silver nail polish but it’s not as pretty as that one…I think I might just have to pick it up!
I might have to rethink getting Twinkle Lights. I love how it looks alone on the nail. Last years Party Hearty was still better though. Twinkle Lights really gives the feel of the warm glow from the Christmas tree
I like them both for different reasons! 🙂
Hey Christine, what’s the easiest way to get glitter polishes off? I love the look of glitter but I hate dealing with the messy aftermath when I remove it! It gets all over my hands =/
I just press a felt soaked with Zoya Remove+ against the nail bed for 10-15 seconds, then repeat on each nail… and then come back around and start to remove it (so the polish has some time to “eat” through the polish).
Twinkle Lights is definitely my favourite! Did you try layering it over any of the other polishes from the collection Christine?
I bet a fine layer over Glittering Garlands would be like wearing a Christmas tree on your nails!! In a good way!
A really great collection from China Glaze, I can’t decide which I prefer, these or the OPI Muppets collection!
Edie xx
I like it over Glittering Garlands a lot, actually! 🙂
I fell in love with Blue Year’s Eve, the problem is that I already own like 3 blue nail polishes…
What’s one more? 🙂
CAN’T WAIT, CAN’T WAIT, CAN’T WAIT! I’m going polish shopping on Friday and I’ve been stalking your blog for swatches and ideas.
What’s your fave from swatches?
DAT BLUE.
Never have I wanted a blue nail polish so bad. It may go horribly with my strong yellow undertones, but I care not. It shall be mine. >:o
Do it!
I bought almost this whole collection! Love it!!
Which ones did you skip? 😉
Hi! When is this collection going to be released? It looks amazing 🙂
Jenn
November – some readers mentioned buying it already!
I actually bought it like 3 weeks ago from US nail supply in south san jose.. So I guess you can check out ur local beauty supply stores.. They should have it.. I bought the whole collex I am so in love with it..
These are out at my Ulta and Sally Beauty Supply right now
The twinkle lights looks like you have “hundreds and thousands” stuck under your nails! Or do you call them jimmies in America? Whatever, they are very seasonal and will definitely be a conversation starter
I know them as sprinkles, lol!
How many coats did you apply and did you use a top coat? What top coat do you use? Your nails always look amazing!
Two for all I do believe (I listed everything in the post above) – I use Zoya’s Anchor & Armor.
Part 3?! FINE China Glaze! You can have ALL of my money!
Haha!
Ah, all the good shades together! Thanks so much for the swatches – I need them all!!!
No prob, Z! 🙂
WOW these look so much more exciting applied than they do in the bottle! Totes want.
They do!
My bank account goes down every time you post! I just had to swing by Ulta and pick up half of this collection!
LOL!
I loveeeee these! I may sound callous (since Christmas is a spiritual celebration), but nothing gets me more in the Christmas spirit than holiday manicures! It’s the one time of year where I can wear gold, green and red glitter all at once! Now I just have to hunt down China Glaze in Australia and my nails will be Christmas-ready!
Hope you can find it, Esperanza!
What top coat do you use? (:
Zoya Armor!
I actually have all of these polishes. I’ve only tried “Glittering Garland” and it is absolutely gorgeous. So sparkly and festive. I was going to paint my nails in “Icicle” today, and seeing all your great swatches has me really excited for how my nails will look in these beautiful colors.
Love Glittering Garland, too!
I picked up Icicle and Blue Year’s Eve but I’m trying to wait until after Thanksgiving to use them, seeing these swatches has made it harder to wait!! Glittering Garland didn’t catch my eye in the bottle but I loooove the swatch!
GG is SO pretty!!
I am from Australia and was SO excited to see this collection on my go to site for US nail polish. Very reasonable price too! I’m getting 8 of the shades, Snow Flobe and Ring in the Red first in my list to try. Thanks for the review!
No prob, Michelle!
I want the cool ones… So bad!
I hope you grab ’em!
I like all of the. Maybe I order some…
Which ones do you like the best?
Would you wear glittering garland by itself or over another color? And what would you wear twinkle lights over?
By itself would be just fine! You could do it either way 🙂
Does anyone know how Glittering Garland compares to Emerald Sparkle (also by China Glaze)? I really like Glittering Garland, but I’m not sure I want to get it if it’s similar to a color I already have and don’t wear often.
I want them all!!!
Which is your absolute favorite?
Glittering Garland is HIGHLY similar to Emerald Sparkle from the Wizard of OZ collection. I love that polish.
I find them a bit different, actually!
