China Glaze Let it Snow Collection Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)

China Glaze Nail Lacquers in Velvet Bow, Winter Berry, Poinsettia, Holly-day

China Glaze Let It Snow: Velvet Bow, Winter Berry, Poinsettia, Holly-day

The next four shades we’re reviewing from China Glaze’s Let It Snow Collection are: Velvet Bow (rich red creme), Winter Berry (creamy cranberry-red), Poinsettia (ruby red creme), and Holly-day (rich hunter green).

Of these four, Holly-day was the only shade I didn’t feel was dupeable. The other three seemed to have a fair amount of similar shades, so it made them less interesting. I think many of us have seen red creams for the holiday season, so there’s a good chance you may already own shades close enough to these new ones. For those who are just beginning to get into nail polish, the formula on these was excellent–the consistency was just right, not too thick or thin, and the flow was even and covered the nail without a fuss. All four were opaque in two coats, which is exactly as it should be. I typically get a week of wear with minimal tip wear with China Glaze’s formula.

I picked up the whole collection with the exception of Poinsettia. Seriously beautiful polishes! Tinsel Town is my absolute favorite polish now!

“Meh.” That’s almost always my reaction to creams. So an entire set of them is like being bored to death. :p

Thanks for the swatches! I think I prefer last year’s CG holiday collection.

Hi! How do you compare Velvet Bow to Illamasqua’s Vice? I love the color of Vice but it barely lasted 3 days on my nails so I am desperately trying to find a replacement!

Thank you!

I did a bottom coat then the top coat with Seche. I figured it would help make it last longer but that failed. Today I bought Essie’s Bahama Mama but it’s slightly darker and less of that wine shade that’s so gorgeous. Oh well. Do you have any other dupes?

Velvet Bow is such a beautiful red. Wow, so rich and deep. Holly-day is a perfect green for me. I’m always looking for one that’s a bit dark and not too bright!

OH LORRRD VELVET BOW!!! The color reminds me of OPI’s Vampire State Building that was a LE back in 2006! MUST. HAVE. close dupe is Revlon’s Vixen!

CORRECTION! Vampire State Building was a LE New York OPI color in 2000!! I’ve been looking around like a madwoman for it! THANK YOU!! I’ve also heard Chanel’s Vamp is a pretty close dupe as well! Just realized Revlon’s Vixen is a bit too dark! THANK YOU! 🙂
