I love Chikuhodo brushes but I don’t like the brushes they put in the set. I’ll buy it if they have more mix with face brushes and eyeshadow brushes only as I have my dislike for lip brush in natural hair and shadow liner brush look too small for me and with this price I think I better get Wayne Goss Anniversary Set on the same website they look more promising to me.

They SAY they collect the hair, rather than kill the guys. Personally, I don’t believe it. I can see why it might gross you out, anyway. I try not to use products made from something I would not eat. Hope you can find some good synthetic alternatives. I like the It brushes from Ulta, and assume they are synthetic. Could be wrong. It brushes do not have the luxury factor, though.

I just got the Lumiere set and its a pretty good deal. The hairs are all squirrel vs. Goss which tend to be goat so it’s more appropriate to compare to the Chikuhodo Z-Series. They are so soft on the face, especially on the lids and the design is so much more luxe than the Z-Series. I have purchased a comparable face powder brush alone for $200 so this set is a very good value if you are looking for a comprehensive set. Don’t know how useful the case is going to be but at least it’s a matching color.

Although these brush sets are nice (and expensive), it kind of upsets me that so many people insist on using products NOT tested on animals, animal byproducts etc, and then go crazy trying to purchase a brush set made of squirrel hair. I actually love my synthetic brushes, it would hurt me to buy these. Not trying to hate on or offend anyone, just my opinion on the brushes.

My first thought was are these brushes cruelty-free? I don’t see how they could possibly “collect” squirrel and weasel hair unless they were confined to a tiny cage. The brushes look beautiful, and I have a passion for pink, however my passion for the humane treatment of animals is stronger.
Pass.
