Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Quad Review, Photos, Swatches
Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Quad
Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Quad ($52.00 for 0.18 oz.) is set of warm-toned, neutral shades that lean more red and copper. It’s a fairly good set of eyeshadows that runs on the shimmery side, but it wears well, is easy to apply, and had good pigmentation overall. Personally, I think that one of the browns could have been substituted for something very dark or more mid-tone, which would give it more versatility.
The Dolce Vita #1 is a brightened, golden peach with warm, yellow undertones and a frosted sheen. The texture was soft, blendable, and a smidgen loose. The color wore well without fading until after eight and a half hours of wear. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
The Dolce Vita #2 is a rich, medium-dark reddish-brown with warm, orange-red undertones and a soft, pearled finish. It had intense pigmentation with a smooth, blendable consistency that made this a very easy product to work with. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading on me. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
The Dolce Vita #3 is a copper-brown with lighter gold and copper sparkle and micro-glitter. The texture is very smooth with an almost wet-like feeling, which helps the glitter to bind better with the base color, so it actually translates as a whole onto the skin. There is some fall out during initial application, and then some more during wear; it’s noticeable–less than some glittery eyeshadows but certainly not perfect. The brownish color lasted for eight hours before creasing slightly. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
The Dolce Vita #4 is a medium-dark, golden brown with a more satin-like finish. It had good color payoff, while the powder was soft and blendable, though a smidgen powdery. It wore well for eight hours before I saw some fading. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

My wallet is so happy that this is too warm for me
lol! 🙂
This is such a raved about palette but I find myself attracted to others in the line. The reddy toned/copper colors just don’t suit me I think!
It’s very strongly warm and red – definitely not for everyone!
Pretty, but very intense, this seems more suited for a night out!
It could work for a night out!
The colors are beautiful! But I find it a bit pricy for just 4 colors.
There are certainly more affordable palettes out there if that’s what you’re looking for! 🙂
This is probably my favorite CT quad. But,like you said , it’s lacking a matte to ground the shimmer. I always have to pull something else out with it. But, the shades are gorgeous. This would be one of the few I would purchase if I could rewind the clock per say.
Do you have a particular shade you tend to reach for with this one, Nicole? Or just whatever you pick for the day?
I use all of them. But , go it’s are #1 and #2. I love the red tone in #2. Its a pretty unique shade in my stash.I use this a lot with Lorac unzipped. It’s been a while since Ice used it. May have to dig it out!
Thank you! 🙂
I’m never a fan of those glitter-bomb shades, so Charlotte Tilburry quads always turn be off, despite how beautiful they look in the pan. There was also less contrast in the swatches than I had initially thought there would be, based off of looking at the shades in the pans. I would think this quad would work better if the bottom right shade were to be a deep, dark, chocolaty, matte brown.
I totally agree, Audrey! The two right shades are a little too close, I think.
These are nice. I love #2, especially. It leans so red. Beautiful.
It is pretty!
I definitely like these red brown tones.. puts me a bit in mind of the Sephora Masala palette which I have.
Ooh, good eye!
I wish the shades were more red. I’d be all over a stronger reddish quad.
That would be interesting 😉
Because these are my kind of browns, I would definitely get this if my stash wasn’t already chock full of warm browns, bronzes and coppers as it is! These look gorgeous!
Good thing for dupes 🙂
Looks like a beautiful everyday palette. I love the packaging and the second and fourth shades
It could be for some skin tones, I think!
A very pretty palette for warm toned complexions. I can see that it would look lovely and it certainly suits you Christine. Too warm for me though.
Thanks, Genevieve! 🙂
Nice but too warm for me and awfully “dupe-able” for the price!
Definitely dupable!
Once I bought UD Naked One 6x over, I never feel a need to buy it again.
lol!
I’m so happy this quad have a great point because I think about buy this one or The Vintage Vamp!
Which one are you leaning towards?
I have this and it’s one of my biggest regrets. I definitely think there are better palettes out there for the money. That glittery shade is just awful — really chunky and basically no base pigment at all, like someone pressed loose glitter into a pan. I have to use Too Faced Glitter Glue to get it to adhere to the lid. I don’t know how you got it to swatch so well. Mine just deposits big patchy clumps of sparkle on the skin. The other shades are ok, but they don’t have the best pigmentation, esp. that brown shade. Urban Decay and MUFE both have far superior eyeshadow formulas IMO.
I wonder what went wrong with the consistency of your palette, Lisa! Her glitter shades are very much like MAC’s Pressed Pigments, Tom Ford’s sparkle/glitters, etc. so that they have a more emollient feel and tend to pick up both base color + sparkle. I think a couple have been sheerer, but they’ve all deposited base color (no primer).
Were you able to return? What a bummer! 🙁
beautiful classic warm brown colour combination!
It is a nice combo!
The warmth, oooh the warmth! I love it! Perfect for a mysterious summer-evening smokey.
It could totally work for that!
when I saw the first photo at the top of the post my instant thought was “oh looks like a TF$ Coco Mirage dupe” but definitely not after the swatches. I kinda wish the last shade was darker – super pretty otherwise
Me too! If one of the right shades was darker, it could be really nice.
I hope you review the rest of the Charlotte Tilbury quads. I got the Sophisticate palette early this year and am still obsessed with it. It looks like a really boring neutral palette, it looks amazing on and a really subtle.
Sorry – I don’t have them all! 🙁
Wow, that looks great! Too warm for me but that’s lovely!
It is for sure a warm quad!
It is so beautiful. This is going in my wishlist.
Yay!
This is my favourite CT quad. Some coppery or overly warm eyeshadows do not suit my more neutral skin tone but these colours really make my bluish eyes pop and are really complimentary. I wouldn’t be put off by it running warm if you like the colours 🙂
Happy to hear you enjoy it, Kate!
