Oh, definitely!! I live in a drier climate, so humidity is quite foreign to me. Everything has to be long-wearing, and I’ll definitely bring a pressed or blotting powder with me if I’m going to be out a lot during the day.

Absolutely have to! I add primers in the routine when I am going out, in fact wear much less makeup on the face and no eyeshadows! they crease like hell no matter what I do!
Yes I do, I wear less mascara and I powder my face much more!
Yes. The spring and summer gets really humid, so I keep it light on the face. Too much on the face plus the humidity just feels disgusting to me. Ick. I also tend to keep the eyes a bit more simple since they most likely will crease quickly.
Yup, I’m less likely to bother with foundation and whatnot, because it would either slide off or turn cakey when mixed with sweat (ew).
Oh for sure! I use long-wearing products in thin layers to help makeup hold up in humidity (and heat). Blotting sheets and pressed powder are also handbag essentials for me.
Yeah I do change my skin care regime since i am not a consistent makeup user. a lot of face washes with Tea Tree oil or Salicylic acid, Toner and suncreens are must in hot and humid weather of India, specially when you have combi skin
I was on holiday in the Dominican Republic last summer, quite the opposite to the German weather I’m used to lol To be honest after 2 days I didn’t really bother wiith putting on any make up anymore because I after swimming I have to reapply sun screen anyway so there’s no point in wearring a full face of make up then. I just put on some Mascara and lip gloss and was good to go.
I have oily skin so I use long-wearing products year-round already. Humidity is brutal in the summer here so I’ll use the sheerest layer of TM or BB cream on my skin as it will usually get blotted off by the end of the day anyway. My eye shadow is a light-medium neutral shade so if it does crease it isn’t that obvious.
Oh, dear… I live in Buenos Aires, capital of humidity ;), and my makeup is focused to prevent the shine and meltdowns. So, in fact, I change my makeup in winter, when the weather gets drier.
We are a study of contrasts: freaking cold in the winter and bloody hot and humid in the summers. I pare down my makeup a lot! I find it intolerable to have a heavy face of makeup in the humidity and tend to stick to sunscreen, tinted moisturizer, a bit of brow action to fill in, and maybe some eyeliner or a smudge of cream eyeshadow and mascara followed up by lip balm. I pull out the NARS smudgeproof and sometimes waterproof mascara which I hate but need. LOVE chanel cream to powder blushes for summer, but can’t wait to try the new Becca formula too.
Yes, I live in NYC where its cold most of the year so i don’t change it often, but its starting to get warmer and I’m training myself to not wear as much makeup. I just stick to a light application. Light foundation or concealer (when it hits about 80 degrees I wear one or the other), light powder, I’ll use Anastasia Dip brow this summer since it’s waterproof and probably an opaque lip gloss or something sheer like Maybelline color whisper on the lips.
I already live in a humid country, so nope. When I go to drier or colder places, I don’t change it up either; I like knowing that my makeup will stay in place all day, no matter what the temperature or the humidity.
I live in a pretty damp/humid environment, so I guess it’s normal for me? I didn’t change anything makeup wise when I visited Singapore, either, which is a much more extreme humidity!
I live in Japan where it gets horribly humid in the summer, especially in Tokyo. I normally wear only BB cream and concealer, no powder as it tends to end up in a mess on my face. Cooling sprays and blotting papers are my saviour, but even so it’s a fairly bleak few months. The sunscreens here are excellent, with many of them providing smooth, matte finishes, so every now and then I’ll even skip base makeup and just go for mascara and some blush.
Nope, not really. I usually stick to the same routine. Then again, it doesn’t get *that* humid around here anyway.
Yes! It’s rather humid in Michigan so it’s easy for things to melt off lol. I like to use lighter formulas and waterproof eye makeup
Yes! Weather here gets disgustingly humid in the summer, plus my skin gets pretty oily. I use only waterproof stuff in the summer. For a casual look, I’ll use a tinted moisturizer or MUFE Face and Body, with little to no eye make up. If I use eye make up, I’ll layer first a MAC Paint (not paint pot) and then a MUFE cream shadow, and mascara. I’ll often do a bold lip, and put a tiny bit of the lipstick on my cheeks.
For a more polished look for work or a special event, I’ll use something like MAC ProLongwear and add powder shadow to eyes over the other layers and a waterproof eyeliner. For cheeks I usually go for a cream blush (MAC or BB) and then whatever lipstick works with the look.
For sure. Summers in Central and Southern Ontario can be quite humid (and I lived on or near water my whole life) so I find that going for a natural, dewy (read: little to no foundation/concealer, just powder on super shines) look works best. Unless I have a wedding or special function, then I’ll use long wearing and all the tricks I know of! I prefer to use tubing mascara instead of waterproof so if I need to, I’ll go to that. Usually skip eyeshadow for colour and switch to pencils or longwearing cremes.
I used to work landscaping/garden centres and one year I tested out my options while at work to see which foundation held up the best!! It was for a wedding coming up that I was asked to do the girls’ makeup for. The best one? MUFE Face and Body 🙂 That’s through sun, sweat, bugs and dirt:)
That’s every other day in NYC, so I’d say my normal routine accounts for humidity already. Perhaps I’d layer more long-wearing products on especially humid days.
In humid weather, lipgloss goes out the door! I rely on shadow sticks, powder foundation and long-wearing matte lip colors so my face doesn’t feel any stickier than it already is in the heat/humidity.
I’m currently in Florida and oh yes, the routine has to change. I’m doing the makeup for my sister’s wedding, and it is long wear everything. Foundation, concealer, etc. Right now, my saviors are Urban Decay All Nighter spray, NARS Smudgeproof eye primer, Revlon Photoready face primer, Too Faced Absolutely Invisible powder, Missha BB cream, and MAC Studio Fix concealer.
If Im in a humid kinda situation, I rather don’t wear make up besides lip gloss. I dont like the feel of make up with humidity. Maybe some waterprof mascara? But that would be it.
I might switch to waterproof eyeliner and mascara!
I have very dry skin and so when I visit humid climates, sweat is more of a problem for me than is excess oil. I pare down my look significantly since I’ll probably need to reapply sunscreen more frequently. I also switch to long-wear and waterproof products and carry blotting papers.

When I visit family on the East Coast during the summer months, I dread putting on makeup. Even sunscreen feels tacky and heavy on my face. I keep it to a bare minimum in the makeup department. I just don’t know how people cope with it in that steam bath climate. I usually just go with lipstick and tinted moisturizer over my sunscreen. I, myself, live in a dry climate and I spend my summers in a super dry climate so I am battling that parched feeling most of the time I use only cream products for my high altitude summers in northern New Mexico. And, I put sunscreen on with a trowel. 🙂
I live in South Florida, so it’s pretty humid here year-round. During the summer it’s much more humid, so I will usually wear a light base and sometimes I skip eye shadow since I know it will melt off.
I live in Mississippi, so humidity is a way of life here. I need my makeup to last 12+ hours on work days so I wear long-wearing everything. Matte foundation seems to hold up better in humidity. I also swear by UD 24/7 liquid liner. It’s the only thing I’ve found that looks just as good at the 12 hour mark. Primers+long wearing matte foundation+setting powder+ waterproof liner+ long lasting eyeshadows usually get me through the day. On a particularly hot day (think 95 degrees+) or if I’m going to be outside, I’ll add some UD All Nighter makeup setting spray. I find it really makes my makeup stay on my face longer no matter how hard I try to melt it off.
I wear no foundation or shadows during humid weather it ends up sweating off anyway. I wear moisturizer with spf and lip balms that’s pretty much it.
Absolutely. Matte sunscreen, lighter formulations, powder foundation, primer or creaseless shadow (if I’m wearing any), less of everything if I can and for sure if I want my makeup to retain a bit of “looking good” throughout the day, a spray of Clarins Fix Makeup – that stuff is so good!
I do, I lean toward mineral powder foundation during humid months, and just use it as a concealer. As I get older though, I’m not sure I’ll still want to use a powdered product.
I sure do change my makeup during the hot and humid summer months!
In the winter I wear hydrating makeup formulas and when it’s humid I wear mattifying products with powder finishes. I agree with you on using long-wearing cosmetics in the humid weather. I am always looking for good cheek and lip stains, water-proof concealers and mascaras, and cream based shadows to withstand the humidity.

It’s pretty much always humid here in FL, but I spend 99.9% of my time indoors, so I don’t have to change up too much. Adding a face primer might be about the only thing I really change.
Not at all. My skin tends to react the same in winter or summer (humidity).
Between the humidity and my allergies nothing seems to be lasting for me on my waterline right now. I feel like everything ends up running and smudges under my eyes.
I definitely think when you live in a humid climate, you need waterproof makeup.
Definitely! Had to lighten up a lot on my vacation to Maui during the last two weeks of April. Obviously, you must wear sunscreen but I also need to cover a less-than-flawless complexion. I took with me the Nars tinted moisturizer because foundation would be way too opaque there. My new pink cream blush from By Terry was perfect along with Affinite cream blush by Chanel. An Hourglass powder with Tom Ford’s bronzer brush, pretty lip glosses, eyebrow pencil, skipped mascara or eye makeup as it would just smear. Washed everything off with Tatcha Camellia Cleansing Oil as it removes everything gently and rinses away without residue. Brought Tatcha’s lighter weight moisturizer and a baby face cream from France. Used Tatcha’s eye cream (on lips too) along with La Mer’s lip balm. The water is so soft there and makes the skin and hair so soft.
Yessss!! I sweat like crazy. So something light like MUFE Face and body or Mac face and body. Waterproof mascara. A barely they lid color a pretty sheer lipstick like coco rouge shine or a burberry lip mist. And done..!!
No, I just adjust my skincare and use more waterproof eye products. 🙂
Heck yes! I change my moisturizer both night and day to a lighter formula. I change my foundation and I keep a translucent powder with me at all times. Depending on how hot, how humid, and how hormonal, I may even change my face wash to something a little stronger.
For humid i switch to more matte finish lip colors and eye shadows.. 🙂 and a compact along is a must!!

BLOTTING SHEETS! They are a must for my combination skin. I find it better to remove the oil with a sheet than to add on blotting powder. Definitely stay away from heavy foundations and try to wear long wearing products. Last summer I was very fond other the hourglass immaculate liquid to powder foundation. It was perfect for the terrible humid summer in NYC last year. This year I am falling in love with Dior’s hydra life BB cream, it has great coverage and is super light.
I live in Florida, so I use a tinted moisturizer every single day of the year. Anything too heavy, thick or opaque just feels icky in humid weather. I do not get the coverage I need to cover all the imperfections, but the trade-off is that it covers some without feeling oppressively heavy in humid conditions. Sliding around is the worst, so a lighter hand in the summer when I am not teaching/working is imperative.
I like the Nars and the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizers the best. Cream Chanel blush. Coco Shine for lips.
Despite the humidity, my dry skin cannot take powders. Florida heat creates a cake factor on my face, so no mattes or heaviness. Sheer and light is best.
Not just humidity here, but high heat! I ditch liquid foundation for mineral powder, which one can sweat through. More powder over face goo just gets cakey. And color tatto on eyes, waterproof mascara. Zinc sunscreen under it all helps me, I’m very fair so it doesn’t go ashy but zinc seems to keep it all drier.
