Chanel Rose Ecrin Joues Contraste
Chanel Fall 2011: Rose Ecrin Joues Contraste
Chanel Rose Ecrin Joues Contraste ($43.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a neutral pink with a satin sheen. It’s neither warm nor cool, but if I had to say it leaned one way or the other, I would say it leans slightly yellow. Rose Ecrin is a subtle blusher as the color blends out to a semi-sheer dusting of rosy pink with a hint of beige once applied. It is a buildable color, but the color itself is muted so it will never be too much.
Joues Contraste contains a very finely milled powder that feels like silk to the touch and blends easily on the skin. It never looks powdery or heavy, and it always looks natural once applied. My only complaint is that it tends to fade after six to eight hours, rather than lasting a full eight to ten hours.
It reminded me of Burberry Cameo which leans a little plum.

It looks natural on the cheeks and great for fall when eye colours go darker. Thanks for the review! 🙂
This looks so natural on you! Also what eyeshadow do you have on here? the whole look is lovely.
Jealousy Wakes on the lid!
Very pretty! I think every swatch I see of it is different lol. I guess I can’t go wrong with Chanel or pink blush though….
Very pretty! And it looks so nice on you, Christine!
I swatched it at a counter a few days back… this looks so different on you that what I imagined. Now I’m second-guessing my decision not to pick it up!
This particular color looks pretty generic but I adore the texture and finish of all the Chanel Joues Contraste blushes.
Hi Christine, I’m going to get a couple of Chanel blushes. For reference in a NC 25. I can’t decide on Fandango or Imprevu. I want a nice bronze glow w/ no red. I’m also torn between Rose Petale & Rose Bronze. Thanks for our help 🙂
Really? 43 dollars for a color you could get at a drugstore with the same pigmentation? Thats insane!!
Different strokes for different folks, Jenna 🙂
Lol yeah, I guess if you can afford it go for it!
meh too light for me. on a totally different note… I am looking for a good shampoo for colored hair (just got highlights). any ideas? price is not an issue?
I don’t have colored hair, so I don’t know what’s best! Hopefully another reader could help 🙂
Sulfate free shampoos, like the L’oreal onoes in the grey silver bronze bottles are excellent in prolonging colour treatment 🙂
Redken and Biolage have some good ones.
I hear that Pureology is great 🙂
Agree, Pureology 🙂
Chanel very wisely decided to pair a subtle cheek with the intense eye looks that were created for fall. Rose Écrin is a beautiful neutral rose with a hint of beige at it’s heart that enables it to blend seamlessly into the surrounding complexion. This is definitely a natural look, soft and pretty.
The shade looks so lovely and makes your cheeks look naturally pink!! 🙂
Christine, what do you use on your brows?
MAC Espresso
very lovely!
I love it on you!!!!
Chanel’s packaging is so (for lack of a better word) sexy to me. The hard part is figuring out whether it’s this color I love or the way the whole product looks!
love Chanel blushes….I use it till it hits the pan and take can takes years….good, now it is made in France. that is a pretty green shadow with the blush.
Christine, how does this compare to the 65 Espiegle from the spring collection? 🙂
This is really flattering on you, very “MCBB”- with a pretty flush! Also what are you wearing on your lips in the full face shot please?
I think it’s the lighter of the fall glossimers!
How does this compare to MAC Pink Cult?
Not as a cool-toned!
