!!! I was going to make Chanel’s Prelude by first quad by them, but this one is really giving it a run for its money. As a bonus, it looks mostly cool-toned, a theme Chanel hasn’t visited in awhile. :3 Let’s hope it’s up to par on quality!

Words cannot describe how excited I am about this collection! It’s almost making me forget about Christmas. I’m picking up almost all the lipsticks, and maybe the eyeshadow duo and glossimers as well. Everything is just so gorgeous, and perfect for spring.

I do wish they would wait until after christmas to start selling these though, I just think it’s too early. I’m glad they don’t hit stores in Norway until late January.

I do believe there are two Rouge Coco lipsticks in this collection as well.

But now I’m wondering if they are just promoted with the collection, because I haven’t seen them on any collection presentations like these, but I have seen them in pictures from the displays that are in store.

this collection looks really fancy, especially the eye quad. But Chanel’s powder eyeshadows are too powdery for me, it irritates my eyes so bad. but the colors are absolutely beautiful for all seasons. and i like the lipsticks too. was buying mac huggable, now maybe compare them two after Christine swatch them. haha~

I want ALL THE THINGS! This looks like a really lovely, wearable collection, although the purples look (in a way) a little darker than I’d have expected from a Spring collection. That’s certainly not a bad thing, since we’ll get this collection going into Winter in this hemishphere, so it might bridge the seasons nicely!

Particularly intrigued by the Illusion d’Ombres – I do love anything that sparkles (tastefully :-P)

It doesn’t swatch super dark. I was wondering about that purple shade as well. You can intensify it by packing it on or if not using a light hand to apply to have the opposite effect.

As much as I love Chanel, the colours in the eyeshadow quad look like they’ve been regurgitated, in one form or another, from previous collections. For example, the taupe in the top left hand corner and the brown in the bottom right remind me of the same colours in the original Variations quad which came out some time ago.
When you think about it, there are only so many colours in the entire spectrum, so sooner or later you’re going to come across a replica; the same goes for formulations and textures. The lipsticks are lovely, but then again, the colours are nothing new.

Not really feeling either of those nail polishes. This can only mean 2 things: Chanel are producing boring polishes OR I have too many Chanel polishes and they have all started to look the same. (I have a sneaky suspicion it’s the second one… XD)

I picked up the collection earlier this week at Dillard’s (just minus the nail polish) and I was so disappointed with it except for the cream blush and the lip gloss. The lipstick dried out my lips, and the illusion de ombres in deep purple and pastel pink were massive glitter bombs. The lip liners were ok. I haven’t gotten around to using the eyeshadow quad but my MIL is eyeing it so if it doesn’t work for me I’ll gladly hand it over to her. Definitely do not sleep on the cream blushes though…they translate beautifully on the skin.

Ohhhh this looks rather beautiful. I wish we got the pressed powder quads in Europe though. Cool lavendar taupes always get me so I want quite a lot of this!! I hope they perform as well as they look.

Ade Avatar

Oh. My. God.
I hope L’Adoree (45) Rouge Allure Velvet is Chanel Stunt Rouge Allure Laque or MAC Flaunting It Kissable Lipcolour dupe…. This color is right up my alley!
Can’t wait for your swatches, Christine! 🙂

Christine-

Do you know which lip and cheek products the model is wearing in the ad? It’s hard to tell after looking at your swatches. Thanks!
