I really enjoy singles myself, though they can get expensive compared to a palette, so it often depends on if it’s a brand that releases tons of palettes. I don’t mind palettes, though, and I think they can be a good place for inspiration.
Of all the holiday sets and kits, lip-based ones are my favorite because they usually perform consistently with permanent counterparts/formulas and offer more for the money (whether paying less or just getting more shades for the money). The downside is that sometimes the packaging feels flimsy or the bullet can break too easily because it’s so small (for lipstick).

For the eyes, teal eyeliner is a go-to but for eyeshadows on the lid, I don’t know that there’s one look I reach for. For cheeks, I tend to gravitate toward coral and peachy-brown or rosy brown satin finishes. For lips, mauves and corals.

Really cool-toned shades like silver or icy blue/white I have to be careful about what I pair them with. I also tend to avoid deeper shades like true reds but less about the color and more that I prefer less coverage/intensity usually.
