I have them organized by brand, then by shape. I keep eyeliners in glass cups on top of my vanity and mascaras/primers in my vanity drawer.
In general, I organize by Brand and then by Formula. There are some go-to cheek products that I keep in my vanity, which I arrange by type (blush vs. highlighter).

I don’t mind them when they’re used by smaller brands to gauge how much they should restock, and in general, as long as they’ll be fulfilled in the next four weeks or so.
