I prefer medium length with medium weight. I want it to feel balanced but slightly weighted toward the middle of the handle, so I have good control and stability. I like some glossiness/sheen (makes them easier to clean), and I tend to prefer pinched over open ferrules.

I love Melt’s imagery–they really go all out and show interesting, complex looks.
The only real downside is that they can sometimes be pressed too firmly or too softly, so they’re too stiff or prone to being as messy as a loose eyeshadow but without the intensity/payoff of a loose eyeshadow.
