I prefer a little shimmer in most of my cheek products, so I’d say mostly shimmer – but I don’t mind low-level shimmer, like satin.

For a quad, I like three shimmers and one matte, but for larger palettes, say 10 or more shades, then 1/2 to 2/3 shimmers to mattes.
I love trying a greater variety in shades for the cost of one or two lipsticks, but since most sets offer mini or travel-sized products, they are more prone to breaking at the base.

I try to do it every three to six months, depending on what else is going on. I keep significantly less and less as the years go on as I don’t need to do as many in-person comparisons, so there’s less need to keep products after I’ve reviewed them. So these days, they get separated into bins...

Not really! I keep some go-to cheek products in my vanity drawer, and I’ll move some out if I haven’t used them often during the year so I can move a few new(er) ones in. Otherwise, it’s mostly just new-new-new.
