Burberry Summer Glow Warm Glow Natural Bronzer
Burberry Summer Glow Warm Glow Natural Bronzer

Burberry Summer Glow Warm Glow Natural Bronzer ($48.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a warm-toned, orange-tan with subtle golden shimmer. Urban Decay Naked Flushed Bronzer is slightly lighter and less warm-toned. MAC Nude on Board is lighter, browner. MAC Comfort has more of a sheen but is very similar in color.

It has warm, golden tones to it, so it will do better on naturally warm-toned complexions, as it may turn too orange-y on pinker skin tones. The finish has a soft sheen to it along with a few bits of gold shimmer, but it translates well on the skin without emphasizing pores or imperfections. The color payoff was good; true-to-pan and buildable, which is where the soft, finely-milled texture came in handy. It can be worn at full strength or blended to a softer, sheerer color, depending on your preference and skin tone.  Summer Glow added golden warmth and a gentle glow-y sheen without looking burnt (at least, on my skin tone).  It wore for eight hours without fading, and after nine hours, there was only a touch of fading along the edges.

I laughed about the part in your review “while the color may not be supremely flattering on every skin tone” because I launched this post and saw the colour and immediately thought–Run Away! However, I’m going to love it for other people. Burberry has such great products.

It’s the last bronzer in their series (they have 4, this is #4), so I figured it’s probably more suitable for darker and warmer complexions!

I’m always happy to see a Burberry product get a good grade, even if it’s one I can’t wear *g* But this does come in other shades, so I may check that out.

It’s just this shade: it’s the darkest one. Try number 01 and if you still find it hard to pull off, go for their Blush in number 07 (“Earthy”). I believe Christine has already reviewed it. I can’t, for the life of me, wear bronzers, but Earthy Blush is great for contouring and/or adding warmth to the fair complexions. Just my two cents!

Did you change the grading scale again, or did you mean ”A” because it use to be 99% for an A+. (Though I know before that it was 98% so you could just be going back.)

Hi Sara!

I mis-typed and put in 9 for application (should have been 5/5 – and so the 9 out of 5 was forcing an A+).

You warm toned folks get ALL the good neutrals and bronzers! 😉 I have a fantasy of a makeup collection designed for cooler complexions. I’m not holding my breath! LOL

I’m actually a pale NC15 but I love this color! I think if it was just lightly brushed on, it could work! It looks fabulous on you Christine, and really makes it look like you have a sun kissed glow!

Looks beautiful on you, Christine, but probably will turn orange on me… which of their shades would you recommend for light skin tones with some pink to them?

I’ve noticed a big change not for the better in the MAC face powders lately as well. Very powdery! Almost like chalk (or wallboard dust!) If you don’t mind me saying so, even tho whatever you apply looks great on you, unfortunately, the MAC soft sand and nude on board don’t seem to suit you (they seem to have a lot of orange; that’s not you! I hate the orangy/yellow ones myself – prefer more of a pink/rose-based shade. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Christine do you think this will show up on MAC nc42, armani #8?! I get quite tan in the summer and am having a hard time finding a bronzer that shows up! For reference you compared this to nude on board which I’ve tried and unfortunately it acted more as a setting powder since it was so light on me 🙁 thanks!

This is my absolute holy grail favourite bronzer, I love it more than the chanel moisturising bronzing powder or nars Laguna, two that stole my heart. I used to HATE bronzer but this has truly made me a convert!
