Burberry Khaki, Lavender Blue, & Mulberry Eyeshadows Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Burberry Khaki Eyeshadow
Burberry Khaki (08) Eyeshadow ($29.00 for 0.088 oz.) is an olive green with subtly warm-toned, brown undertones. It had a soft, smooth texture that applied well. The color payoff was good, though Burberry’s formula is confusing, as it’s called “Sheer Eyeshadow,” but then it’s supposed to have really true, long-lasting color, so I try to interpret that as a buildable color that can be worn sheer or more intensely. The softness of the texture allows for a wash of color without worry, but it can also be applied more heavily. MAC Flourishing is greener. Lancome Designer is darker, greener. Dior Khaki Design #3 is more shimmery. bareMinerals Eureka is more shimmery. bareMinerals Speaker Box is darker, more shimmery. See comparison swatches.
Lavender Blue (13) Eyeshadow ($29.00 for 0.088 oz.) is a medium lavender with subtle cool undertonees and a satiny finish. It had decent to good pigmentation and was fairly true-to-pan in color. It was slightly powdery in texture. NARS High Society #1 is more muted. NARS Flowers 1 #3 is cooler-toned. MAC Beautiful Iris is cooler-toned and more shimmery. Giorgio Armani Fatal #3 is warmer. See comparison swatches.
Mulberry (24) Eyeshadow ($29.00 for 0.088 oz.) is a muted, burgundy with subtle, warm undertones and a soft, frosted finish. Kat Von D Fur Elise is more muted and matte. theBalm Sexy is darker and matte. theBalm Alice Copper is warmer. Maybelline Pomegranate Punk is a cream product. MAC Universal Appeal is lighter. MAC Rich Core is darker. Le Metier de Beaute Fig is brighter. See comparison swatches.
Khaki wore well for eight hours but was slightly faded after nine hours of wear, whereas Lavender Blue was slightly faded after eight hours and Mulberry lasted a full nine hours without fading/creasing.

At first I thought ”how is that khaki?” but swatched it looks slightly different and yes, more khaki. My preference goes out to Mulberry though 🙂
Does anyone know what the deal is with Pale Barley? Are they bringing it back this year or is it discontinued?
No idea 🙁
I read somewhere that it’s basically sold out everywhere, and will be back sometime later this year, but who knows. I really hope it’s not being discontinued, it’s my very favorite Burberry shadow and the reason I got into their makeup in the first place. Besides, it would be really stupid of Burberry to discontinue (what seems like) their most popular eyeshadow shade.
Mulberry is GORGEOUS!
I’m glad mulberry gets such high reviews, I’ve been lusting after it.
I own Mulberry, and to my eternal sadness, I can’t figure out how to wear it. It always seems so phenomenal in the pan, and on my eyes, poof! It doesn’t pop. I am of a similar colouring to Christine. Can anyone suggest something to pair this with?
I like it with golds!!
The last two colors are gorgeous, but the first… kinda reminds me of puke.
Is the khaki a matte shade? I think it might be lovely to use to define the crease for blue or blue/green eyes. A little different from the standard brown, but still very neutral.
I love Khaki & Mulberry!
I know this is a lot to ask but I was wondering if there will. Be an updated review/dupe to Burberry Trench? The brand isn’t sold in my country and we have customs problems, but I’ve been trying o find something similar for over a year 🙂
Hi Malia!
I don’t have any plans to!
LOVE Mulberry! This type of shade really makes my eyes stand out (bluish/green). Unfortunately, for me, I can’t find fricken Burberry where I live 🙁
