Burberry Graphite (No. 28) & Storm Grey (No. 27) Eyeshadow
Burberry Graphite (No. 28) Eyeshadow
Burberry Graphite (No. 28) Eyeshadow ($29.00 for 0.088 oz.) is a dark, smoky brown with cool, gray undertones and a satin finish. It had good color payoff with a soft, silky texture that just a smidgen on the powdery side but remained blendable and easy to use on the lid. The color lasted for nine hours before fading. Kat Von D Graphic Nature (P) is lighter. bareMinerals Panorama (LE) is grayer. Kat Von D Dark Throne (LE) is similar. Urban Decay Smokeout (LE, $18.00) is warmer. Kat Von D Siouxsie-sioux (P) is grayer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Burberry Storm Grey (No. 27) Eyeshadow ($29.00 for 0.088 oz.) is a medium-dark, cool-toned taupe with a soft, plummy-mauve influence and a satin finish. it had good pigmentation that went on evenly and smoothly. The texture had a soft, finely-milled, velvety feel to it that wasn’t powdery. This shade wore well for nine hours before showing signs of wear. MAC Rose Blend #2 (LE) is grayer. Maybelline Tough as Taupe (P, $6.99) is a cream product. MAC Keep Your Cool (DC, $21.00) is slightly darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

That’s a lovely taupe.
I agree! Very fall-ish shades.
Not a huge fan of greys as warm colors work better for me. But Storm Grey looks pretty!
I liked Storm Grey a lot, too! 🙂
I really like Storm Gray!
I liked that one a lot, too!
Gorgeous!! I adore this awesome autumn like shade 🙂
Yay! 🙂 Have you tried Burberry’s eyeshadows before?
I like Graphite a bit more than Storm Gray but they’re both nice. Are you planning to review any others? I have Rosewood, Pearl Gray, Midnight Plum, Midnight Brown, Mulberry and Pale Barley. Others I tried but didn’t like are Chestnut, Taupe Brown, Antique Rose, Lavender and Midnight Blue.
I’ve reviewed all the Burberry eyeshadows I have as far as I know!
Storm grey would be a perfect crease color.
Agreed!
Hmm – storm grey is not really a grey – it’s a taupe. A bit misleading there. Storm grey should be a really grey colour. Not a fan.
That’s too bad!
Both of them look very pretty. I love Graphite though!
Yay! 🙂
Like them both. Burberry is a bit of a tricky eyeshadow formula for me: while they are pigmented, they seem to require some packing. The plus side being they never look harsh or overdone and the edges fade out easily. Probably one of the ‘softest’ looking mattes I’ve ever used.
Some of the more powdery shades do that to me, though some are really nice!
Hi Christine,
Do you happen to know if these shades will be permanent?
As far as I know, they were just new shades released, but I don’t get official info from Burberry.
Those are beautiful colours!
They are! Have you tried the formula before?
I love both of these… which is probably why I have most of the dupes you listed, LOL! It’s times like this that I’m glad Burberry cosmetics are a PITA to procure.
You and your grays 😉
What’s really funny is, I would always gravitate toward greys & taupes, and although I’d buy them, they just sat in my bins. I’ve always loved the colors, but because I have grey-tinged skin (not as unflattering as it sounds, LOL), I always felt they would just wash me out… It’s only been in the last 5 years, or so, that I find myself using them almost daily!
It was only when I tried blush shades that were dusky/smokey that I actually started to enjoy wearing it (which is why I actually bought 5 blushes in one haul…).
So glad you ended up giving them a try!
I’m a big fan of Burberry shadows. I find they blend easily and really do last without fading for a good nine hours. I love these two shades. I may have to add them to my collection.
I really like how well they blend – and they have a very nice, flattering finish on the skin.
I have a mighty need!
🙂
Haven’t tried Burberry makeup yet, they aren’t at any of the stores near me. But love the products you’ve featured, especially your favorite highlight color trench. I’m on the lookout for a good gray palette, I have a old Bobbi Brown(silver, gray) one.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Burberry counter myself!
Yes, YES on the Storm Grey and maybe the Graphite too! Burberry shadows work awesome for me. My last purchase Sage Green #15 was a stretch, but it’s become my most favorite summer palette. So beautiful for my conservative work environment where bold makeup is too extreme. Took me awhile to understand the Burberry/ British concept of subtle beauty- but now that I understand the line- I will certainly consider them first before I purchase any other brand.
Happy to hear that the Sage Green is working well for you, Trish! 🙂
Uh oh I see a Nordstrom purchase in my future! Love the burb shadows, my midnight brown no21 is the best shadow I’ve ever owned. I like the look of both of these, I’ve just purchased MAC concrete as I wanted a complimentary shadow for my maybelline tough as taupe, which I adore, that us such a standout drug store product in my opinion
What do you wear Midnight Brown with, Mel?
Ooh, soft, smoky grey! I like both of these, but since I can’t get Burberry (easily) here, they’re just making me more excited for the MUG shadow I got! It has a very rogue-appropriate name… 😉
😀 Can’t wait for you to receive your MUG order!
I don’t have any Burberry eyeshadows. These two are very pretty. I’ve not seen Burberry cosmetics here, would be fun to do a bit of swatching. Might have to go to London for a day. 😀
Trench is my go-to for highlighting, though it is technically “boring,” LOL!
Storm Grey is a fantastic colour! I could see myself using that plenty this Fall/Autumn. The luxury….lol. 🙂
They are very nice for fall/winter!
I love both of these – interested in seeing the plum color : )
I think that’s all the Burberry eyeshadows I have!
I’m not a huge fan of gray and taupe eyeshadows. The Graphite is kind of pretty.
Not a fan of taupe? Be still my heart! 😉
Ha, ha! I acknowledge it’s usefulness, and I do own some, but its just so…brownish…and grayish.
I did get the MAC Taupe blush, so maybe I’ll become a fan.
Fingers crossed 😉
I wish these were around in Canada. None of the Burberry SAs have any clue about these. I’m hoping at some point they become available here.
Fingers crossed!
