Bobbi Brown Holiday 2011 Collection

Bobbi Brown Holiday 2011 Collection

1991 Lip Palette ($60.00) (Limited Edition)

In 1991, discouraged by the lack of flattering lip colors that were available, Bobbi took to making her own. She created ten lipstick shades that had a brown base, which was in her opinion the most natural complement to a woman’s skin tone. After a small editorial mention in a magazine, Bobbi was soon taking countless phone orders from her home and it wasn’t long before she caught the attention of Bergdorf Goodman, which ultimately launched her eponymous collection. Bobbi hoped that she would sell 100 lipsticks in her first month at the store—and she ended up selling them in just one day. Created in celebration of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics’ 20th anniversary, the Limited Edition 1991 Palette features the original ten lipsticks as well as ten NEW bright, modern and wearable colors that showcase how the brand has evolved in the past 20 years. All the shades can be worn alone or mixed together to create your own unique shade.

I’m pondering the 1991 lip palette, but $60 seems steep, especially if the circles of color are as small as they were for her brights eye shadow palette.

Jenica,

Check them out in person before you buy. I bought the holiday blush set online a couple of years back – it was expensive – and the quality was not the same as BB regular brushes. Some of the brushes actually fell apart.

So, definitely look at the set closely… it does look nice & convenient in the photo.

loving that carryall bag!!! And really curious to see the quality of the shadow pallettes…I’ve been searching for a good smokey eye all-in-one pallette….

Im actually sooo fed with seeing editorials which smash the products up!! its been over done and it makes me cringe when its an expensive product like this. anyway… these all look great!

Wow, I really want the second set of the “To-Go” palette. I’m surprised it’s only $25! Usually BB palette’s are overpriced. That dark plum lipgloss is sooo beautiful though!

Hot, hot, hot. I’m getting a bunch of this. And I’m SO EXCITED she brought back the sparkle eye shadows! They are the best (but remember to apply with your fingers for best coverage, ladies)!

Wow, what a lovely collection. I agree, the brush set looks amazing, but more for the case than the brushes. I don’t really like dual ended brushes, but the case looks terrific. Chanel made a train case similar to the one shown here. I use it a lot, but the inserts can make it awkward to use. If these inserts can be removed it would be better, the Chanel inserts tend to flop over 🙂

Christine, is the Sparkle shadow palette of the type “Black Velvet” and “Black” sparkle shadows last year were from? Photos so far look “powdier”! thanks!

Hey Christine, love your blog. thanks so much for all the efforts! A quick question. I have this bb lip palette and i absolutely love it. apparently the 2011 collection is just for the sake of this palette and not available in full sizes.Unfortunately I am in love with the four shades Party pink, Coral Gables, Lady ruba and most of all Atomic Pink. If at all you have used the pallete, could you possibly tell about any dupes for these shades. I’ll be grateful! xx
