In Europe the other nail polish is called Twilight Night and definitely is not a navy blue.
I’m not sure about Bobbi Brown. I haven’t purchased a lot of products from that line, and those I did seemed OK, but not anything I’d spend a premium on. The eyeshadow palette looks nice for the office, but I’ll wait for your review. I think the price point is reasonable for that many colors, but I’d like to see what you think about the quality.
I know it’s terrible, but I’m really tempted to get Firefly mostly for the name. Best TV show ever! =) It helps that it’s one of her High Shimmer glosses that I know I’ll use, as well.
What I really don’t get is why Bobbi Brown bothers with limited edition collections since her whole makeup line is a uniform shade of bland.
@Turboweevel I second that thought~
@Turboweevel Agree. When I saw this I yelled “oh yeah, another collection with brown eyeshadows! I wonder what new shade of brown they have come up with!” haha 🙂
Never commented, but as someone who owns 100+ shades of brown (stop me before I buy again!), these really aren’t brown at all- more rosey cool, but still neutral somehow. The eyeliner is a gorgeous blackened plum/purple with multi color shimmer. Haven’t worn yet, just purchased.@paneradfisk
That gel eyeliner/eyeshadow doesn’t look “plum” to me. On my monitor, it’s a definite expresso colour. Huh. Maybe I need to check my monitor settings.
@Kafka Mine–and I’ve checked on three different monitors now–shows it as kind of a dirty grey-purple, if that helps. Definitely not what I’d consider plum, either, and while I wasn’t sure about my laptop monitor, my home monitor is usually pretty accurate. I see the purple in it, but it’s not at all vibrant and like I said, more grey-toned. HTH.
@blueraccoon Dirty grey-purple??! Oh dear. I see nothing but a metallic dark brown-black. Like a dark coffee bean with a metallic sheen. On my phone, it’s more silvery brown than silvery brown-black but still, not a whiff of purple or plum anywhere!!! Anyway, thank you *so* much for telling me, sweetie. I really, really appreciate the heads-up. This is the first time I’ve seen a *total* disconnect between the photo and colour description but, unfortunately, I have no idea how to fix my monitor settings. I’m on Windows 7 and tried the recalibration process for colours on the monitor but I still get metallic/silvery expresso. Does anyone else see that?
@Kafka I’m having the same problem…I would have described the color exactly as you did. The colors on other posts from today and yesterday are showing accurate to the description. I hope that helps!
@Kafka @blueraccoon I’m getting a definite blackened plum on my phone, and not even a hint of anything metallic. From what I see, it’s pretty, but nothing too unique.
@Kelly B THANK YOU!!!! I no longer feel as though I’m hallucinating or losing my vision, or that *both* my electronic devices are somehow colour-blind. It’s such a relief to know it’s not just me. And, like you, I have no problem with any other posts showing accurate reflections. I wonder what it is about this product that has led to such a wide divergence in perceptions since 4 diff. posters are seeing 4 diff. shades.
@xamyx @Kafka @blueraccoon Blackened plum….. lol. That’s the 3rd diff. colour (4th if you include the product description itself) given for one single eyeshadow. I think Bobbi Brown’s photo department might be less than pleased to hear that. LOL.
I like how they name a nail polish Turquoise and describe it as Blue haha
I saw the display for this in Nordstrom on Sunday and didn’t stop to look…which is a shame, since I would have loved to swatch those eyeshadows in person. I’ll wait for a review on those — everything else looks just okay to me.
The cheek/lip stains seem promising.
I bought the Twilight gloss two days ago and I can already tell that this will be a color that STAYS in my purse every day. It’s a neutral gloss with a slight rosy/brown tint that is incredibly flattering. I am going to play around with the eye palette next time I hit the counter because I’m rediscovering my love of artfully applied neutrals. 🙂
This collection looks very pretty, but has anyone else had a problem with her black plastic packaging cracking early on into their use? I’ve experienced this with 2 lipsticks, the undereye corrector, and at least 4 3-pan palettes which I’ve exchanged at nordstrom’s over the past 1 1/2 years but have finally resigned in defeat; I can’t keep doing this to the poor salespeople…this is a shame because I love the products within & I swear–I’m very gentle!
@eejster – my MIL uses Bobbi Brown and has had this problem with some of her compacts. On hers I think the lid keeps breaking off, but it might be that it just cracked.
I haven’t! I have the corrector, a cream eyeshadow, and an eyeliner from Bobbi Brown. I’ve traveled with the corrector and it was fine. Very strange that that keeps happening to you!
As beautiful as the eyeshadow palette looks, I just can’t justify *another* shimmery neutral palette. The brush set looks nice, too, but *$55*?
is this the official fall collection or is it a ‘transition to fall’? last July I bought a palette and thought it was the BB fall collection but then she came out with another fall collection in Sept…..
this collection is absolutely gorgeous! i think it will work on many skin tones too
Oooh, I love the palette and the brushed looking tools. I want that lighter colored High Shimmer gloss!
Would you know if the Pink Truffle Lip & Cheek colour from this Twilight collection is the same as the Pink Truffle Pot Rouge? I’m asking because I really love the Pink Truffle from the Twilight collection and since its limited edition I’m wondering whether i should buy a backup. I wouldn’t have to buy a back up if its the same as the permanent line of the Pot Rouges. 🙂
I’m not sure!
