This isn’t my kind of shade (I’m just too pale & pink for a dark brown), but I love that they decided to include something like this. It’ll be really interesting to see how it plays on other skintones.
I wonder how similar this is to their Maple Matte Lip Creme Lipstick in Mulled Maple
You put in the start time, and it was only 30 minutes on: i sprang for it. Much as i have issues with the concept of these monthly LEs, and despise myself for ordering one thing (expletive deleted rouge benefit … my first time: it’s so wasteful), this one has my initials on it! {Also going to complete the Audacious brown reds, between the Sephora sale and the Nars F+F.} Hope it’s great, and that i don’t reproach myself too much, for my puerile and impulsive actions! Whatta makeup sap i am! But know that, if i didn’t happen to look at your blog at the right time, and if i hadn’t been able to salvage today as my RDO, i never would have gotten this. Fate! (Or, as it really is, infantile justification!) Thanks. Think i’m done with the Bite monthlies. Like with the MAC LEs. Too old and too much to do to stalk the sites.

I will probably get this. I’m such a sucker for the Bite LE releases. I think their brand is so great and performs amazingly. I have 001 (the reformulation too), 003 Chilly Pepper, 006 Mango Daiquiri and 008 Mandarin Orange and I love them. (I can’t really pull off cool pinks and purples, and I like my reds warm, so I’ve skipped the rest). The performance and moisturization is really there, especially with the later formulations. I hope this is something closeish to 001 although I suppose that’s not the point of monthly colours — but it’s my HG burgundy.
They mentioned on Instagram it is more of a red base than Truffle (which I tried and found too unforgivingly brown). It looks a little lighter as well.
Whoops! I meant Cognac, not Truffle (which is more like a dark plum).
Ok, I’m in. Just ordered mine and also got a free party bag full of sample goodies. I’m a total sucker for brown reds, just hoping it’s not too dark of a brown.
Thanks Katherine for the reminder of the goodie bags! Also, just wanted to let you know about something I heard about the La Mer cream. I wound up returning mine yesterday after I started getting little pimples here and there, I read the ingredients and noticed “mineral oil” as 2nd or 3rd on the list. I did some google research and asked a good friend of mine who is an esthetician. She says mineral oil basically coats the skin and makes the person feel like it’s moisture. But, its suffocating it. Thus, the breaking out. Plus, it’s a carcinogen. Just a heads up. I know you said you only use it occasionally. I wound up getting Chanel Le lift crème riche. It’s nice. not as thick. But, it does the job just as well. I probably will need to layer an oil in winter. Unfortunately, I don’t have many counters to chose from here. 🙂
Oh no! Glad you were able to return, since it’s so expensive. I heard some people can get breakouts from mineral oil, but I’m surprised it’s considered a carcinogen, since it’s in so many cosmetics and creams. Thanks for letting me know. Hope the Chanel cream works for you. I just started using Paula’s Choice Clinical Ultra Rich Facial Moisturizer at night, and I like it. It seems to seal in moisture without feeling too heavy or greasy. I checked, and there’s no mineral oil either, but a lot of natural oils (shea butter, coconut, etc). I’m even going to try it under foundation. I’ll let you know how it goes
Oh my gosh, I almost forgot to get this! Thank you for reminding me!! I love the Bite Beauty limited edition lipsticks and I have NO GUILT about purchasing one every month. I only wish I had started collecting them right at the beginning so I could have all eleven. I hope they do this again in 2016!

The guilt is over the packaging, not over the l/s or the expense/ LE of it. I use that guilt to talk myself into more things in the package! And I hate the mall after Halloween. But, the BI sale is coming, so there will be enough in THAT package. I did fall for More Lip by itself, when they restocked, bec. I was afraid it would sell out again. I dislike ‘driven’ things and things that drive their own necessity. Cell phones, even cars. But I have to drive & the iPad gets a $@& load of use, so I’m not immune. And the LE release obsession falls into that category. I think that the originality and quality of the Bite LEs are well worth the expense. I really like the Bite 250 pointers in the rewards section…. hope S keeps that up. They can be quite similar to the LE colors of the month.
I would have preferred a brown-red rather than a red-brown, but it’s pretty. Just too dark for me.
I wish they did not go so fast. It looks so close to Cognac, and I wonder how close of a dupe you’d consider the two. Cognac does not have the red undertone, which looks obvious in the swatches I’ve seen, but less obvious on the lips.
This one is getting skipped for sure.

The pseduscience here is pretty amusing. “Over 20 amino acids,” eh? A little hard to do when only 20 exist – 21 if you’re being generous and including selenocysteine. Don’t know what particular benefit they serve since they’re just precursors to proteins are more or less the building blocks of any organic substance.

Well, I had gift cards smoldering, brown/reds are SO me for autumn and I got my Rouge goodie bag too. This Bite formula feathers a bit on me, but I think I’ll like this color
Since I have a funny feeling this one will fly out the door, especially with the whole 90’s grunge resurgence, I sure am glad that I bought MAC Deep Love last month!!! Although, I’ll just bet the Bite one has a nicer formula! ?
I saw this on Sephora.com yesterday and it said Sold Out. I went back again just now and it was available! Quickly bought it before it was gone. I knew I didn’t care to purchase any of the lipsticks except for this month’s since it’s my birthday month! Glad it was a good color, otherwise I would’ve had to skip it.
This looks like MAC Sin! Can’t wait to see a swatch.
