A lipstick brush works great and is probably easiest.

Flat tops can be angled, too, so less is touching your lips, but it can take a bit of practice.

I hope these aren’t all as brown in real life as they look in the promo pics! All 8 look waaaaaay too warm for us cool-toned ladies.

I don’t like flat topped lipsticks, too hard to apply. The colors look gorgeous, but from the description, worried the product might slip and slide too much. I’m still mad at Bite for the way they launched their limited edition Lip Lab product, and the January color was such a disasterous formula. And the Feb one is already sold out, it’s ridiculous!

Lauren Avatar

Really? I didn’t even see it promoted anywhere! (The Feb. one, that is.) If so, that’s seriously disappointing in this brand. I’ve really stopped buying from them in favor of other brands who justify the price $36 price tag. Speaking of the Limited Lip Lab ones.

You havn’t missed it. They haven’t launched yet. Seph does things in a very misleading way! For new stuff they put it on the site and put it on out of stock status till they are ready. They did this on black fri too and so many people were angry because it was 1215am and everything said out of stock. When actually they just launched late at around 1245am. I did call CS i wasn’t able to get a date but she did confirm it has not launchef for Feb.

Katherine T. Avatar

Wonder why Sephora’s website doesn’t just say “product coming ” or “product launching on so-and-so date” instead of “out of stock” ?? But I do know that the January color sold out within hours of launching, was never re-stocked, and the lip formula got terrible reviews, so let’s hope they’ve learned some lessons for February, but I’m not optimistic….

trina kolander Avatar

after the 1st flop of Jan no one is jumping on Feb. Its been available all day. No 1hr sell out this time. The color sounds pretty at least you can return it if it doesn’t perform well.

Great minds! lol I always go for the pinkish browns for lips. I don’t pull off dark brown very well. The trials of vampire skin, eh?

Sylirael Avatar

Indeed, LOL! *hisses in sunlight*

I was wondering about Rosewood, Heather and Pecan too! I will look forward to seeing actual swatches, since the promo pic mostly just makes them all look like ‘warm pink/terracotta brown’. The usual hazard of promo pics…

trina kolander Avatar

Definitely want to tri them. When i went to sephoras site and actually click on the product they all say out of stock. when is the feb LE coming out? it says sold out but that’s misleading because it hasn’t launched yet CS had no specific date.

I really don’t know how to feel about these…. I think they should release more colors to their other lines… cuz it sounds maybe a disaster waiting to happen, aggreeing with what Carly said above. But the colors are pretty…

Sarah Avatar

Just saw these are $32 CAD and 0.15oz, making them a better value then the closest competitor for these I can think of, Too Faced La Creme ($26/0.11)! Kinda more interested now. Waiting on review by you, hopefully! 🙂

I have not been that into Bite in the past simple because I have tried a few things when they launched and they didn’t really impress then. Then the monthly lipstick flop from Jan. I am interested in a review for sure.Seems pretty close to something like a Burt’s Bess product with a way higher price tag. Basically, not even going to look until I see a good review. The sheer lipstick, and the complete opposite ultra-matte lipstick along with the beloved contouring kits seem to be reigning the season.

Meghan Avatar

I’m not sure I’m feeling it. Bite Beauty started out so strong with amazing products. Now that they have a good reputation, but they’re starting to slide a bit… I guess we’ll see what the ratings are like, but I don’t really have high hopes for these.

Jill Avatar

I’m not sure what the “waxy outer layer” is and why it needs to be removed? Bite makes great lipsticks but I do wonder about how extremely flat the bullets are.

Sarah Avatar

LOL, I cringed a bit at that part. Not sure if it’s true at least in part or just total marketing spin. Who cares if the lipstick is handcut? Why does this even form a waxy layer? What does a waxy layer even have to do with the ‘creaminess’ of the product?

Sylirael Avatar

It made me think: ‘Hold on, do you just mean that they paid someone to chop the top off my lipstick so I wouldn’t have to break the sealed surface that some lipsticks have?’ Hehe, ad copy is such bullsh*t. I kind of love it, kind of hate it.

Stacy Avatar

My thoughts exactly. Maybe it’s just my lack of knowledge showing itself, but while some of the colors look really pretty, I honestly don’t get these. It just seems like a way to sell less product for more money.

Jessie Avatar

I’ve had a chance to play with these and they are ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. The colour is super pigmented, not streaky at all. The texture is beautiful. They are all quite NUDE tones, but definitely not as brown as they appear in the photos at all. They are a bit more warm toned rather than cool toned (some learn more neutral than warm) they are all very wearable.

The shape isn’t hard to use, and would be quite easy to use the lipstick to create the slanted shape of other lipsticks through usage.

Whitney Avatar

It’s a bit odd that it says “hand-cut,” because they can’t possibly all be hand-cut; there would need to be someone there with lipstick on a chopping board, cutting it up…… Anyways, this looks like it would be a nice formula to give it a try and see just how moisturizing it is! I guess I’d need to try this to see how I feel about the shape haha.

Teresa Avatar

So far on Sephora’s site they are for VIB Rouge members only. Is this because they’re still rolling out? This VIB-only stuff is for the birds and really, really disappoints me. (It’s like trust us Sephora… If we could spend more on MU we totally would!!! But at least let me buy what I want when I can!)

Sarah Avatar

They sometimes roll out these releases to Rouges or VIBs early. Nothing to really worry about! Although I do remember not being a Rouge and it does indeed suck when you’re burning to buy something!
