Bite Beauty French Press, Salted Caramel, Vanilla Latte French Press Lip Glosses Reviews & Swatches

French Press
Bite Beauty French Press French Press Lip Gloss ($22.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a medium, reddish brown with subtle, warm undertones and barely-there pearl. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly on my lips with a lightweight, lightly tacky texture that sat well on my lips and felt comfortable. There was a very small amount of color that sat in my lips but wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. The gloss lasted well for five hours on me and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$22.00/0.15 oz. - $146.67 Per Ounce
The formula is described as a mix of "milky nudes to bold browns with full-on color." They are supposed to be "comfortable, cushiony" with a "sweet, mocha flavor" and scent. There are six shades, and they semi-sheer to mostly opaque coverage, and some were buildable as two layers were still comfortable to wear. The texture was lightweight, creamy so the color spread well across my lips, but there was a light level of tackiness that helped keep the gloss in place. The shades wore between four and five hours on me, but they were all extremely hydrating while worn and over time. Some shades applied beautifully with little to no settling or streaking, but a couple of shades pulled into my lip lines more noticeably.

Salted Caramel
Bite Beauty Salted Caramel French Press Lip Gloss ($22.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a medium peach with warm undertones and fine, micro-pearl with a high-shine finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that covered the lips without streaking, but the milky quality of the gloss seemed to allow it to settle into my lip lines. The shine distracted from the settling somewhat but not entirely when I looked at my lips from a normal viewing distance (rather than magnified). The consistency was lightweight, lightly sticky but smooth and spreadable. It was comfortable to wear, as the formula felt hydrating, and it wore well for four and a half hours on me.

Vanilla Latte
Bite Beauty Vanilla Latte French Press Lip Gloss ($22.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a light-medium peach with strong, warm yellow undertones paired with a shiny, glossy finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that did not apply evenly and gathered very noticeably into my lip lines. For me, this was one of the worst applying shades in the range. The texture was lightweight and smooth with a touch of tackiness, but it never felt glue-like. It stayed on well for four hours and was quite moisturizing.

Bite Beauty Vanilla Latte French Press Lip Gloss
Oooo! I’m so thrilled that French Press did so well, sine it is one of 3 that I’ve had my eye on! Probably my favorite shade, at that. It will probably join that cheek palette in my cart ?
Salted Caramel looks on you the way MAC x Aaliyah Li Li’s Motor City looks like on me; a beautiful nude peach!
The last one, Vanilla *something*, is pretty….forgettable. If you ask me.
I want to get one of these so bad but I am SOOOO allergic to something in Bite’s formula of their lipsticks and agave lip mask. My lips get so swollen and painful and leak clear stuff. It is gross. It is not lanolin either because I douse my entire body in Aquaphor. I am so sad because these look beautiful.
Emily, I feel your pain. I’m allergic to something in so many lipsticks and I CANNOT figure out what bothers me! It doesn’t seem to be limited to a certain brand either. Both high end and drug store lipsticks have given me bad reactions. And like you, I agree it’s not the lanolin causing the issue. It makes me very nervous to branch out and try stuff. And there are so many ingredients in things that it makes it impossible to figure out the offender.
I feel like I am allergic to Bite Beauty’s lip products too! Didn’t have an issue with their Lip Pencil or Amuse Bouche Lipstick bullet, but the French Press Lip Gloss I have on is making my lips tingle in a painful way! It’s a shame because the colour is beautiful. I had a lip rash a week ago and I suspect it’s because of the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lip that I tried on.
French Press is very nice, but I’m Nancy Reaganing it, due to having the 2 Nars dupes. Plus Bite, esp in the liquid formulas, has a definite sugary spike taste. I think there’s stevia in it, despite it not being listed as an ingredient. Does anybody else get a hit of (unwanted) sugary taste in Bite these days? It’s turning me off. Not allover sugar, just sparse particles, but enough for me to ‘unlike’ it. The sticks, like Crushed Chili, have it as well, but it is less pronounced than in the liquids.
The colours aren’t quite what I expected, so I think I will pass. My wallet thanks you!
Also, that eye look with French Press is gorgeous!
I had a feeling that some of these were going to turn out milky. I know creamy colors can be hard to make in a gloss form but I’m still somewhat disappointed.
What a divine shade French Press is!
I am a barista and obviously a coffee lover… too bad I cannot get these in Europe! French press is indeed gorgeous, I will have to look into the dupes! Thanks Christine!
I made a Sephora purchase a couple days ago and went for Vanilla Latte. I knew it would likely have problems like you mentioned (every light gloss I’ve seen seems to have them), but I couldn’t resist the strong yellow undertone. I know there are a couple MAC dupes, but … I just don’t buy from MAC anymore.
I’m going to try my applied-over-foundation-lips-and-blotted trick, which is what I intended from the start. That should tame it.
Do these smell or taste like coffee?!? I love some of the shades but detest coffee. Both the smell and the taste! TIA
Please read “Formula Overview.”
French Press is gorgeous! I miss the taste and smell of coffee, on my buy list
