I like to use the Anastasia top coat. But, if I had to choose an actual mascara, I’d go Benefit They’re Real. Though, I’ve not tried many. I don’t like w/p- I feel like it damages lashes. Thats why I just keep that top coat on hand.
The best one* I’ve tried has been the relatively new Cover Girl super sizer. My lashes are fairly sparse and short and this is the first mascara I’ve put on and thought that the results were noticeably different from any other mascara. It builds up really well for me and the end results are super long lashes and about as much volume as I can hope for.
*Of course it’s still a waterproof formula and I always lose lashes because of that, so I only put it on for occasional nights out.
Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Zero-Smudge. Tubing mascara, dissolves in hot tap water.
I love Full n’ Soft too! It makes my lashes so fluffy. These days I wear L’Oreal Lash Extend (the tubing one). It’s not a waterproof formula, but it’s the only thing that doesn’t transfer to my oily skin. I like the look slightly less than Full n’ Soft though :/
Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof, without a doubt. This past summer I repeatedly got caught outside during our crazy monsoon thunderstorms, rain blowing seriously SIDEWAYS, my lashes never drooped, ran or moved!!! And the curl held during dewpoints over 70%, which is unreal!
I remember you mentioning this mascara a few times —I have an Ulta coupon and using it to get this!
I am not sure if it’s waterproof – probably not – but I LOVE the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara. Even if it’s not technically waterproof it doesn’t smudge one bit on me.
Maybelline’s Lash Sensational. Not my favorite for volume, but it doesn’t budge. Plus, it has an interesting brush!
I’m allergic to most of them, even more so than regular mascara. The best I’ve tried that works on my sensitive eyes is Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Waterproof Mascara. For drug store, Almay One Coat Triple Effect Mascara.
Maybelline Full ‘n Soft is yet to launch here! If it is your favourite, I should definitely try it! xx
Diorshow – Iconic Overcurl
It’s holds my curls perfectly. I cry a lot and my mascara hasn’t gone anywhere.
That’s kind of a toughie for me as I don’t really buy mascara, I just survive on the many, many deluxe size samples I’ve gotten as GWPs, point perks, in grab bags, etc so it’s hard to tell. The one’s I’ve tried and liked are the (waterproof versions of) the YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils, Dior Diorshow Blackout, Bobbi Brown No Smudge, MUFE Aqua Smoky, Tarte Lights Camera Splashes and those are the ones I can remember. I don’t have a preference for drugstore vs high end, I just get the high end ones for free in deluxe size often enough I haven’t really tried the drugstore mascaras for the longest time. I also like the deluxe sample sizes as they don’t dry out when you’re only halfway through them.
Gave up waterproof for tubing years ago, ’cause even the heavy duty w/ps ran in the concealer. Used Blinc for at least a decade, at least on lowers, but I think it is deteriorating in quality. Rather liked the Stretchex from Touch in Sol, Sephora. Idk if it’s w/p or tubing, but it doesn’t raccoon at all. And Catrice makes a good tubing; it looks like They’re Real on. This may be non-responsive to the ?, but unless one is talking rainy and/or swimming, the problem is the same. Raccooning under the eyes. Tubing does not dislodge (yet?) in the rain, and I never wear masc to the water. W/p probably comes off fairly well with straight grape seed oil, but the oil DOES linger on the lashes, even with generous washing. Resorted to g.s.o. when allergens were ruling out removers. It’s better @ night than if you were too tired to remove @ night. Not a morning product; stays more w/ lashes than lids. M/u goes on ok, but masc not so much. Thanks for the recs. Will try some.
Isehan Heroine Make (Kiss Me) Volume & Curl Super Waterproof — only mascara that will actually hold a curl for me, and it builds up my sparse lashes very nicely as well. You definitely need a good makeup remover for it, though.
It’s the one I just got probably, Eyeko Black Magic mascara! I usually don’t wear waterproof mascara (didn’t know this was), but this doesn’t budge that’s for sure.
I have the straightest lashes. They’re so straight they point down & only hold a curl with waterproof mascara. I’ve tried just about every waterproof mascara out there. Most aren’t dark enough or don’t hold a curl well. The BEST waterproof mascara I’ve ever tried is from a Japanese brand called Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make. I buy the Long & Curl as I prefer a lengthening mascara. There’s also a Volume & Curl version. This mascara is so black & makes my lashes so long & does not budge or transfer. I can coat my lashes in one coat & it’s so dark. It is a bit tougher to get off. I have to use Lancome bi-facils or the new Garnier waterproof micellar water (blue top) to get it off but it’s well worth it. I buy it on Amazon. There’s many Prime sellers.
I don’t think I’ve used a true waterproof one in ages! I think the last was L’Oreal Voluminous.
I love Armani Eyes to Kill waterproof. I’ve gone swimming in it and it did t move!
i’m currently using maybelline colossal volum’ express cat eye…. i like the brush itself a lot but the mascara is very ok
right now,CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Waterproof was the only thing that can make my eyelashes stay curly all day long and don’t smudge during the day. I also loved Lancome Definicils Waterproof Mascara,it’s work wonderfully on my lashes and truly waterproof but it’s so pricey for mascara! Maybelline Full & Soft sound interresting! 🙂
My favorite is Maybelline Lash Stiletto in waterproof. Holds the curl after using a lash curler and then I add a thickening mascara on top like Lancôme Hypnose Drama.
I always have to wear waterproof mascara as a base mascara for layering due to my eyelashes being very straight. So, I look for everyday wear, no smudging, and curling power (I hate having to curl lashes after applying mascara – so those that can freeze pre-curled mascara are top!).
I’ve tried many, and I always go back to good-ole Cover Girl LashBlast Volume Waterproof! It just applies dark, adds volume, freezes lashes quickly (making them ready for the next mascara), doesn’t weight them down, and is buildable. Just so reliable!
I have problems with mascara smudging and I sweat a lot day to day basis.
By far, bare mineral topcoat is the best to prevent that. UD cannonball and Benefit rollerlash work well with the topcoat so far.
I have tried over 30 or 40 waterproof ones. Some (like covergirl lastblast) will flake and hurt my eyes at the end of the day. None of Maybelline works for me (crazy!). Bare mineral topcoat is a BIG discovery of my life!
