Best Products of the Week | Vol. 356

Hope your weekend is starting off on the right note! Every Saturday, I like to share the top 10 products from the last week of reviews. It’s a nice way to highlight what reviews have been published recently. Similarly, I love reading–and I know others enjoy sharing!–their own “week in review” when it comes to what makeup/beauty products they may have used and/or enjoyed.

What was your week in review like? Copy and paste the lil’ survey below and share your answers in the comments 🙂

  • Your skin tone/coloring:
  • What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?:
  • What was the hero product of the week for you?:
  • Any products you want to use next week?:

Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Thank you! We got to Phoenix, Arizona safe and sound. Unfortunately, there’s a heat wave this week! It was 105°F/40.6°C today, and the rest of the week is supposed to be between 106°- 110°F, till it cools down to “only” 100° on Friday.

At least there’s sunshine for taking beautiful pictures. I may also save the beauty industry by having to practically bathe in sunscreen every day! Lol

We’re going to do outdoor activities in the morning, and keep to indoors in the afternoon and early evenings.

Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green eyes, warm brown hair.

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: a look duping the vibes of the Cosmic Brushes Serenity palette. I used Blend Bunny Blends and a couple of TM singles and I love the result. Here’s the look if you want to check it out!

What was the hero product of the week for you?: Probably my Maybelline Lifter Gloss. I wore it constantly this week. Now that I’ve been forced to take antihistamines for allergies that have gone completely haywire this year, I find I can now wear this gloss without it irritating my throat as well, which is a nice surprise. Anyone else have the problem of glosses irritating your throat/tongue? Especially ones a that are fruit scented/flavored?

Any products you want to use next week?: I want to see if my husband will pick out a couple palettes for me to use in my collection and/or do some palette bingo.

Your whole look is lovely Celesta and I like the combination of the blues and green shades.
I have also been forced to take antihistamines for hayfever like symptoms all year round this year – even though we are just barely coming out of winter – which is something I have never had to do before. Usually, once autumn hits I no longer need them – but this year it has been horrific – and not just me either. My local chemist has told me that they have never had such a run on hayfever products during the winter season ever before.

Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, almost-black hair with natural gray highlights

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?
• EYES: Started with NYX Proof It Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer. Then I used shades from ColourPop That’s Taupe palette (Pebble Beach as transition, Python on lid and outer V, Bedrock to line outer third of upper lash line, and Boa on brow bone). Then UD 24/7 pencil in Mushroom on outer third of lower lash line; CoverGirl Clump Crusher Waterproof Mascara; and Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil in Grey.
• FACE: Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup in Sand, Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Concealer in Light Buff, MAC Blot Powder, and MAC Glow Play Blush in the shade Blush Please (my current blush obsession).
• LIPS: Huda Power Bullet Matte Lipstick in the shade Anniversary

What was the hero product of the week for you? Frankenpalette — that’s what I call my new improved That’s Taupe palette because I replaced the four sparkly shades with mattes from other CP palettes that I never use: Libra and Taurus from ColourPop’s The Zodiac palette, Flasher from ColourPop’s Double Entendre palette, and Want U Back from ColourPop’s You Had Me at Hello palette.

Any products you want to use next week? I want to do a look using Frankenpalette’s warmer shades.

Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: Last Friday, when I went to lunch with one of my best girlfriends, I used SG x Temptalia’s On the Horizon Light palette for my eye look – Heart Dog over the lid, Earthbound on the lower lid and the single Phosphenes next to the lash line and it looked a treat. I paired it with MAC’s Fresh Moroccan.

What was the hero product of the week for you?: My SG singles and On the Horizons palette.

Any products you want to use next week?: More of the same!
