Benefit Velvet Eyeshadows Review, Photos, Swatches

Benefit Velvet Eyeshadows for Superior Use & Value

Benefit Velvet Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.11 oz.) are velvety, silky-soft eyeshadows with smooth color that go on effortlessly and blend seamlessly. Seriously, I absolutely fell head-over-heels in love with these from the moment I swatched them on my skin. They’re ridiculously soft and exactly as they’re named–velvety. There’s little else that is as suitable to describe it as like velvet. I find that these also blend really easily both within the Benefit brand but with other brands’ shadows, too (always a plus).

Benefit currently has ten shades of their velvet eyeshadow available: Bikini Line (desert sand), Fawn Over Me (cafe au lait), Leggy (pink nude satin), Buckle Bunny (rosa mocha), Rich Beach (brown sugar), Where There’s Smoke (smoky pewter), Dandy Brandy (copper spice), “Gimme Some” Plum (iced plum), Like What You Sea? (misty blue), and I Cannes and I Will (golden mulberry). I’ve only tried six of the ten shades, but I’m comfortable saying that the entire range is worth checking out, because the six I tried were amazing.

  • Bikini Line is a soft, shimmering warm-toned gold. This has my name written ALL over it, duh. I cannot resist a gold eyeshadow to save my life!
  • Rich Beach is a warm-toned bronzy shade with just a bit of gold shimmer.
  • Dandy Brandy is a lightly cool-toned chocolate brown with copper flecks of shimmer.
  • Buckle Bunny is a muted rosy mauve with soft gold sheen.
  • I Cannes & I Will is a plum purple with gold flecks. I really loved this shade, because it has a very unique look to it.
  • Like What You Sea? is a soft, cool-toned silvery-blue with silver sheen.

They’re also really reasonably priced relative to the amount you get. For $14 at MAC, you’ll get 0.05 oz. of eyeshadow, whereas Benefit’s giving you double that for $18. From that perspective, you’re definitely getting your money’s worth with Benefit’s Velvet Eyeshadows!

  • Product: 9/10
  • Value: 9/10
  • Ease of Use: 9/10
  • Packaging: 9/10

Recommendation: If you’re all about a super soft and silky eyeshadow, these are most definitely for you. I just can’t get over the texture and how soft these are!

Bikini Line and Like What you Sea? are mine, but I really like the look of all 6 tbh!! Might have a look at Where There’s Smoke and “Gimme Some” Plum as well, i’m looking forward to having a look at these in store!

I saw these e/s last week at Sephora when I was checking out their Crescent Row fragrances. The colors are so pretty and wearable. I love Leggy, Buckle Bunny and Like What You Sea?

Bikini Line & Like What you Sea? are definitely on my lust list. Is it me or does I Cannes & I Will look like MAC’s Trax e/s? Just curious. I don’t think I can remember the last time Christine you’ve given a product a 9/10 across the board in a review. That tells me these are a “must” purchase. So exciting! I love to hear about amazing new products worth splurging on. Yay!!!

They look lovely. I don’t really know Benefit, only have a couple of glosses and PosyTint, but I might just check these out. Thanks.

I have Rich Beach and I love it when I wanna do a neutral look. Like you said thay are amazingly soft and blendable. And you get .6 oz more than in a MAC eyeshadow…you cant’t go wrong with that. LOVE THEM!!

I may have to add this to my Sephora shopping list when I use my 10% off coupon! Liking ‘like what you sea’ but I’m wondering if it will be too cool on my skintone – NC42. Hahahaha, I finally remembered my MAC – speak skintone color term!

Oh my gosh Alexis, you just reminded me that I have a 10% sephora coupon too to spend. Jeez, how could i forget something like that?!?! Benefit Velvet eyeshadow will be on my list as well…

Those colours and swatches are very pretty…
Except they look identical to my drug store shadows in terms of pigmentation and sheen. Actually, I prefer the pigmentation of my drug store shadows.

Pretty, but definitely would not purchase for myself.

I love I Cannes and I will! I swatched this and Where’s there’s smoke at the Benefit counter and fell in love. I ended up getting Where’s there’s smoke (a dupe for Smoke & Diamonds IMO). Will have to go back for I Cannes soon.

i have a soft spot for benefit <3 their products are fabulous, and the really WORK. i’m interested in some of these.
their new lipglosses caught my eye too. they make the best lip gloss formula, it’s so shiny & non-sticky

Does anyone know how glittery/shimmery these are? I don’t mind Velvety shimmers like Dior shadows, but MAC lustre/mineralized shadows are getting on my nerves.

i have the wet n’ wild eyeshadow in “fine wink” and it is almost identical to benefit’s ‘buckle bunny’, id check out the wet n’ wild eyeshadow first before committing to this purchase

Purchased Bikini Line at the weekend from a lovely Benefit SA! I absolutely adore it, I cant stop wearing it, it’s really soft and the colour pay off is fab!

I know this is somewhat random, but has anyone heard of a Benefit Velvet Eyeshadow Quad? I saw this posted on ebay but am hesitant to purchase because I can’t find it anywhere online. It looks like a great kit but I’m not sure it’s a genuine product or even what shades are pictured (seller doesn’t list). The link is below if anyone wants to take a look.
