Oh yeah, I could love this a whole bunch. Liquid liner is horrible for aging eyes. I recently picked up an Illamasqua liner because of the unique oxblood colour which is amazeballs on green/hazel eyes, but it’s a serious serious challenge to apply and wear. I’ve got this whole love/hate thing going on with it. Gel liners seem to do the best job of lining for me, particularly those with good flex. I don’t mind waiting a bit for dry down if it means the product will apply smoothly. YSL is the absolute best I have tried in gel formula. Yes, I would give this gel pen a go if it were truly helpful and not gimicky.

I have to track down that oxblood Illamasqua liner… I haven’t seen one since L’Oréal did one in the early-90s, and it was my all-time favorite! The closest I have now is a MAC gel liner in Delineate, which is more red/wine. It’s also an amazing color on brown eyes!

Precision Ink in colour Havoc. I LOVE the colour.. they list as aubergine. Gorgeous. Formula=bites for my tastes anyway. Perhaps better on you 🙂

Oopps..wasn’t signed in so yeah confusing, diff photo. I just looked at Jill’s recommendation for the Makeup Geek product. In stock and inexpensive. It looks very red in the picture, almost rust, but feedback from customer implies it is darker. This looks fairly similar to the Illamasqua colour. I just picked it up. I want the colour in gel. Thanks again, Jill

If you don’t mind using a twist up pencil, Stila has a couple new ones that are quite reddish in tone also. I find they wear quite well, though not quite as immovable as gel. I have really sensitive eyes and they also don’t sting like gel liner does when I tightline with it.

This is by no means the “FIRST EVER”… I have the Maybelline gel liner pen and it’s pretty good and is probably a fraction of this Benefit one!

Carrie Avatar

they say first ever because the maybelline is only made in asia plus that one from what i’ve seen, you need to go over it a few times and it’s a bit messy

SarahMeezer Avatar

I know someone who wears the Maybelline one and it is constantly horribly smudged, I made a mental note to keep well away. XD

For some reason this reminds me of that one Too Faced tried to do. The 3 in 1 eyeliner? Maybe it’s the angled that is making me think that way. But curious how this works because doing winged liner can vary from eye shape to eye shape. For me I like to built it up, and the tip looks too thick. :/

This is very different from the Too Faced one. Also, I have had a chance to try this liner already & it definitely can achieve a very thin line. It’s worth trying.

Benefit comes out with another innovative yet effective product! I love the idea of this hugging the lash line and getting as close as possible which i’ve always struggled with.

Am I wrong or did Maybelline already launched just a similar product (LASTING DRAMA BLACK SHOCK GEL PEN EYELINER) a while ago? If not. Please tell me the difference between the benefit and Maybelline one. I`m a confused girl from Germany now.

i will absolutely buy this as soon as it’s available and hope hope hope for the best. tight lining is my favorite look and i have such a hard time getting the roots of my very blond lashes covered.

Benefit are on such a roll! I am a gel liner lover – a gel liner in a pen sounds perfect, so much easier than having to carry the gel and the brush! xo

Looks really interesting. I saw this in the new Cosmo too. The line looks really thick though. Will be looking forward to seeing you test this one.

I got to go to a Benefit event yesterday and they tested the liner on us. Its GREAT and it doesnt budge at all. I had to slather coconut oil for a few minute to get it off my eyes. I’m excited for this!

I tried this on yesterday and I’m IN LOVE! I have super oily eyelids so it’s always hard to find a liner that won’t smudge or give me a black ring on the top of my lids after a couple hours. I put it to the test last night, I washed my face before bed and applied it without any primer or shadows. In the morning I woke up and it looks like it was just applied. They have made an awesome product that will change the gel eyeliner world! I wear only liquid on the top just because its the only thing that stays but this is perfect, and gives a nice mat black finish. Also it has a fine tip that gives a perfect wing! All around awesome product.

I’ve heard a lot of reviews saying that this liner is very dry/flaky/crumbly and I’m so hesitant to get it. Even if I go to Sephora first, you can only get so much of an idea about a product with just a swatch on your hand
