Benefit Gilt-y Pleasure Longwear Powder Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches
Benefit Gilt-y Pleasure Eyeshadow
Benefit Gilt-y Pleasure Eyeshadow ($20.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “golden sand.” It’s a warm-toned, orange-gold with a metallic finish. Tarte Canary Diamond is a bit more orange and darker. Chanel Vision is more metallic and sparkly but similar in color. L’Oreal Eternal Sunshine is yellower. Dior Night Golds #4 is less metallic. Milani Drenched in Gold is very similar in color but more frosted in finish.
It had good color payoff (but was just short of perfection), but the real wonder was the texture: so soft and smooth. It really applied well and went on smoothly and adhered to the lid for a whopping ten hours without fading or creasing. Gilt-y Pleasure blended out easily when I worked with it. The brighter, warmer coloring paired with the high-shine finish makes it work well to brighten and open up the eyes (particularly on warmer skin tones).
For reference, it also appears in Benefit’s Most Glamorous Nudes Ever Palette–I make a point to mention that, because the palette itself is $30 but contains three other eyeshadows along with two Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows; more or less, unless you really hate the other products, it’s hard to justify $20 for one eyeshadow when you could be paying $30 and receiving six different products.

looks like a muted version of UD’s half baked.
i wonder does this shade look similar to Burberry pale barley?
Pale Barley is browner.
I have this eyeshadow as well, but I feel like golds just look weird on me with my blonde hair.
I have black hair, and I feel (most) golds look odd on me. When I see gold eyeshadow, the first thing that comes to mind is how *pretty* they would look with blonde hair!
This is such a beautiful color.
Christine, how does it compare to UD’s Shag ? I’m looking for a dupe as it is my holy grail eyeshadow.
I think Shag is a bit darker!
It actually looks less boring (sowwy :-)) that I thought it would be. Pretty!
So pretty!
I absolutely adore this eyeshadow! It’s my favorite one Benefit has released yet. I know I will definitely always have this in my makeup bag!
Very very pretty! I love the whole look you created! 🙂
I like the color but $20 is a bit steep… I’m glad you mentioned the palette! That seems like a much better option!
