Benefit Bikini-tini Creaseless Cream Shadow Review, Photos, Swatches

Benefit Bikini-tini Creaseless Cream Shadow ($20.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as an “oyster pink.” a soft champagne beige with a frosted, metallic finish. Maybelline Barely Branded is a bit lighter. Urban Decay Illusion is less golden and a powder product. bareMinerals Kudos is darker and a powder product. MAC Retrospeck is a bit browner and a powder product.

The neutral color works well to brighten the lid for light to medium skin tones, and it works as a neutral base underneath eyeshadow. It has a very creamy consistency that glides on well and applies smoothly on the lid. The texture isn’t too thick or too thin, so you get full, opaque color coverage in a single layer, but it sets fast enough that it doesn’t settle into the creases right off the bat. This was the first shade I tested out of Benefit’s repackaged Creaseless Cream Shadows, and it wore well for eight full hours and was slightly faded after twelve hours. The consistency of this shade felt comparable to the original formula (based on other shades).

Weird that it’s not LE but yet it’s not packaged the same as the other Creaseless Cream shadows. I’ll pass on this, though, as it isn’t really all that unique and I’ve so many shadows (cream and powder)that are awfully close to this.

I’ll miss the pretty birds on the lid but this looks like a much more practical packaging in that it is easy to get every last bit of product without having to use a brush if you don’t want to. It also explains, perhaps, why these aren’t showing up in the Canadian Sephora site – none of them are! I hope Tidal Wave (the green shade and a Sephora exclusive) will still be available!

Ugh, this looks so pretty, and I’m so tempted! But I find that after a month or two, these “creaseless” cream shadows become anything but! I always close the lid tightly, but to no avail. They dry up and then become very difficult to work with, and once I actually manage to make them look decent on the lid (even with primer), they still crease. Anybody else have this problem?

I own most of the ones from their old line, and I find that the consistency varies between each of the colors. I’ve had Flatter Me dry out on me a couple times. The last couple years, when I’d buy them, I’d take them out of the jar, and the lid would be half unscrewed, every time! Drove me nuts! This past year, when I buy them the lid is screwed on. I have a feeling the way they sent them out in the factory caused some of them to dry up early. Sephora has always been really good about taking them back though.

Try storing them upside down. If they still dry up and form cracks, you can nuke them for a few seconds in the microwave to get them all creamy again. Tried these with MAC and eye cream and gel eye products and it never fails me. HTH

I’ve heard that to keep cream shadows from drying out, they should be stored upside down. have you tried this? I haven’t had issues with mine, and I’ve had them 1-2 years.

Thanks for the tips everyone! I honestly can’t remember if I store them upside down (just finding room for them is challenge enough, haha!), but I’ll make sure to do that from now on. And I didn’t even think about microwaving them! I’ll definitely have to try that!

I’m almost out of my beige cream shadow from Mary Kay and was looking for another one, and this looks like the one! Can you use your fingers to apply? Gorgeous colour! I use my cream shadow as a base before powder too, works great! Its also wonderful for when you want a quick, polished look just by itself.

I really like the packaging on this product. I hated all the other packages that benefit is re-doing now, but this looks good. The best part is how wide the pot it, seems easy to use your fingers!! Gotta love user friendly packaging 😀

Awww looks like a perfect champagne! It looks soft and beautiful with the gold reflection. And seriously love the way it clashes with the eyeliner, what’s the name of it?

CC Avatar

I don’t see how, because its the exact same packaging as the old style, just different colors. The old packaging was a glass bottom with a plastic top, these new ones are a glass top with a plastic bottom. It’s still the same heavy glass as before.

I love the look of this, but I’m worried it’ll crease on me, like Painterly does. 😛 I realize they’re completely different brands and maybe formulas too, so I wonder if this is still worth trying? The color is gorgeous.
