Beauty & Makeup Galore; Stock Up For Fall 2007 - MAC Cosmetics
With the approach (or rather the onset) of fall comes the accompanying trends in makeup and new product lines released by not only MAC Cosmetics, but nearly every major beauty brand as well. Support Temptalia.com by picking up your fall must-haves through Nordstrom.com (make sure to use links from this post!). But first, take a look at what Temptalia recommends you check out for this autumnal season!
Let’s start with my number one addiction… MAC Cosmetics.
As we know, both Blue Storm and Smoke Signals gave us a real head start into fall makeup, and while those are stunning, here are some other products that shouldn’t be missed amongst the limited edition lines (plus, don’t forget, there are several new collections launching later on in September, as well as Alexander McQueen in October – oh, and numerous holiday launches, oh my!).
For the eyes… I would not feel complete and ready to take on the changes of fall without these stunning shadows: Antiqued (gorgeous coppery brown), Bronze (deep chocolate brown with shimmer), Femme Noir (matte deep green), Goldmine (true shimmer gold), Motif (duochrome irridescent orange/purple), and Shroom (subtly shimmery highlight) to name a few; check out this list of eyeshadows for a complete selection.
For the lips… I have to have my corals – I just couldn’t live without them, which means I always ensure that I have a tube of CB96 on hand, plus Sweetie for my barely-there-pink lip. Even if I feel ridiculous in this season’s trendy vampy lip, I still suggest checking out Dark Side, Odyssey, and Rebel to scratch that itch. Go ahead and check out this list of lipsticks for a complete selection.
For the face… In the summer, I tend to tan a bit, so I end up with a bottle of foundation in NC35, but once fall kicks in, I fade a bit to NC30, my more normalized skin color. I adore Studio Fix Fluid foundation, and if you’re able, try and pick up a sample next time you’re at a MAC store or or counter. Moving on to care of the face, because it is wholly important with the expected dryness that accompanies the season. We know Louise Zizzo can’t go without Fast Response Eye Cream, so you shouldn’t either. I personally love MAC’s Strobe Cream for a great light coated moisturizer. See the whole line of moisturizers !
Oh, and if you haven’t already picked up your Blue Storm and Smoke Signals goodies, the Gentle Fume x4 and Smoking x4 quads are NOT to be missed. They are perfect for travel or having a no-brainer look because the colors pair so well with each other. I adore Blue Storm eyeshadow; it’s a lovely blue hue, but it isn’t overindulgent like Freshwater or Deep Truth can be. Plus, rock the vampy lip with Burnin’ lipstick (and pair it with Bizaarish lipglass if you’re feeling feisty)!
Let’s see what other beauty brands have in store for us this fall (there are other brands? oh, yes, far too many for any one woman’s wallet!)…
Taking a quick look at Smashbox, we’ll find that an utterly perfect way to test out the brand is picking up Smashbox’s ‘Try Me’ Kit . It includes their top sellers like a 10-well Brow Tech & Cream Eye Liner Palette (0.05 oz.), Photo Finish Primer (0.3 oz.), Under Eye Brightener (0.13 oz.), Lip Enhancing Gloss Crystal (0.12 oz.) and Double Ended Brush (Shadow Liner #9 and Angled Brow #12).
Peering over to the Fusion line (GlowFusion, LipFusion, etc.), we see an exclusive SkinFusion line! Treat your skin to some high tech skin gadgets in the form of beauty products.
Want something to really cure what ails you? Chanel’s line of Beaute Initiale is a collection that focuses on young skin to protect it from the aging process – instead of trying to correct what age has done to us at 35, Chanel shows us a line of products used as preventive and protective measures instead. I wouldn’t hesitate to mention that their Fall 2007 colour collection is divine. I have to say I adore the new nail polish, Tulipe Noire, as a great subtle, luscious red. Also love the Sequoia quad!
Clinique’s new Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss is a great way to beat chapped and dry lips from the windy fall. Keep that pucker glistening and gorgeous all year round! Oh, don’t forget to check out their Fall collection Play In the Darks .
NARS is not to be missed with several lovely eyeshadow duos coming out, like Brazil, Kalahari, and Sugarland. Don’t miss Flamenco lipstick, which is a deep red. See their full Fall 2007 Modern Odyssey collection.
I adore Shu Uemura’s new lashes (even if I’m not sure I can afford them), their new Mode Makeup Collection Fall 2007 is definitely worth taking a looksee at next time you’re nearby their counter. I think their shadows are so cute with these darling designs, it makes me want to pick up Ai, Ebi, and Sakura just for the imprints.
But you know what? There are SO many exciting new products that have or are about to debut, so if you’re an adventurer, try exploring through all of the various enticements this fall has to offer you in the beauty and fragrance niches.
Even if it’s such a big trend this fall, I don’t think I can rock a vampy lip…my lips are a bit on the full side so if I darken it too much, it might overpower the rest of my face and I’d feel self-conscious most of the time…plus I tend to play up my eyes more with make-up rather than my lips! But I have the 3 lipstick palette from the Novel Twist collection which has Dark Side in it so I’ll still try it out (for evening occasions) and just top it with a lighter lipgloss.
Oh, and my next favorite make-up brand is Shu Uemura…I have dozens of their e/s (which I started collecting even before I started with MAC). They have more vibrant metallic shades that I often pair up with my more subdued MAC e/s.
Putting some gloss on it will help tone it down – maybe, but you never know. I wish I could pull it off / feel comfortable in it, but alas, I’m Vampire Temptalia instead!
Shu Uemura has the most amazing lash collection!
