For me, I keep a pressed powder (Guerlain Les Voilettes) and a lip gloss (most likely a Bobbi Brown High Shimmer one).

Ya know, I just recently discovered Select Sheer. It doesn’t get talked about very much, so I wasn’t really aware of it. I grabbed it from Nordstrom on a whim, and Wow! What a great powder. It’s not powdery or too heavy. I wish people talked about it more because it’s just wonderful.

Yep… Lip stuff as well, and a clean MAC 217.. I go through my eyeshadow (the crease, to be precise) and found that that this way my eye make up keeps its vibrancy throughout the day. Freshens it up… God knows why, but it works beautifully.

I just keep tinted balms handy. Most of the time I’m reapplying without a mirror so these are easy. For my oily T-zone I just blot with paper. Adding more powder looks cakey on me in no time.

I always have mattifying powder with me, and I use it at least once day too for a touch up. I also always have eye pencil with me, but I rarely actually use it. It’s just for emergencies. And then I’ll always have my lipstick or lipgloss of the day with me too of course, for regular touch ups.

Samantha Avatar

I carry the lipstick or lipgloss for the day (changes daily) and a powder compact. For everyday use, I carry MAC Prep + Prime CC compact in Illuminate. For weekend use when I rush to get to the farmer’s market before the good veggies are gone, I take MAC Studio Fix Powder + Foundation compact (to cover my summer freckles on the bridge of my nose). I also usually have my Estee Lauder Aries compact with me as well.

Guerlain Les Voilettes, much thanks to you, Christine! I’m considering buying 1-2 more, so I can keep one in my purse, one in my diaper bag, and one with my normal makeup stuff. Since I only have 1 compact at the moment it doesn’t always make it into my touch up bag, but I try to remember because it’s been a life-changing product, no exaggeration.

In my touch up bag I keep- mini UD De Slick spray, mini Hourglass mascara, mini Buxom Dolly gloss, a mini pack of 10 makeup wipes and 10 exfoliating wipes, a sample of concealer from Sephora, a mini hair brush, a hair tie, nail file, 2 individually wrapped nail polish remover wipes, and 2 individually wrapped dry shampoo and styling wipes. Sounds like a lot, but everything is sample sized and it’s a pretty small bag!

For me, it’s a lip product and a powder to take care of shine (usually Rimmel or Essence though I find the Essence All About Matt powder does NOT travel well, even in my purse makeup bag – I’ve had one shatter to bits! Rimmel – the lid doesn’t stay on and I don’t know why they’ve not changed the packaging to address this but I use an oh-so-elegant rubber band to hold the compact together).

MAC Blotting Tissues
Covergirl Queen Pressed Powder
NARS TAOS Blush – gives a warm, flushed look regardless of the eye/lip combo
Lip – it depends

Samira Avatar

Makeup forever hd pressed powder, plus any number of lip glosses and lipsticks that have made their way into my bag.

I also keep a powder foundation on hand most days – right now it’s Becca – in case I need more substantive skin help as the day wears on. Mostly though I just use that when I’m going out at night and need touchups. I try to stick to translucent powder during the day.

Lee Avatar

I usually just carry a lipstick to reapply after meals. I also carry a eyeshadow brush to reblend out my eyeshadow if I need it but carrying eyeshadow with me is kinda a pain.

Janelle Avatar

In my purse I keep a pressed powder (Guerlain), an Estee Lauder Lip Conditioner and a neutral lip color (right now I have the Givenchy Le Rouge Burgundy 207 Rose Plumetis).

Since I work in locked facility I have cheap stuff in/on my desk as it will often disappear or get thrown, or otherwise end up messed up (stepped on during a crisis, etc): Pressed Powder (Physicians Formula), Soft Lips (Clear with SPF), and a neutral lip color (Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle).

Too many!
No, really, unless I’m running really late for some kind of appointment or have to travel to an evening event via Uni/work (in which case I have been known to take ALL sorts of products – mainly eye makeup with me) I generally just carry: moisturizer with SPF, concealer, setting powder, whichever lip colour I’m wearing plus a clear high-SPF lip balm. Oh, I recently discovered my Illamasqua Cream Highlight in Aurora “hiding” in an inner pocket of one of my favourite handbags. I’ve pretty much hit pan on it too, so that was an extra “surprise” for me ;-/

As recommended, I went and got the Palladio Rice Paper Oil Absorbing Blotting Tissues, so I keep those in my purse along with whatever lipstick I’m wearing that day. I used to keep a makeup bag, but with my very heavy math and science books plus binders, I just can’t carry a makeup bag around anymore! Besides, I rarely used anything other than a blotting product and lipstick.

Eileen Avatar

For touch ups, I carry lip balm (SPF 30) and whatever lipstick or gloss I’m wearing. I also carry Josie Maran’s argan oil sunblock (SPF 47) which doubles as sunscreen and hand/arm lotion When the weather is dry, I carry Tatcha’s Dewey Mist spray to keep my skin moisturized without disturbing my makeup.

I actually have a small makeup bag at work filled with necessities. I have everything in there to apply a full face, if absolutely necessary. In reality though, I don’t touch up all that often. Aside from my lip color, I generally leave my makeup alone.

Judy H. Avatar

I have Laura Geller concealing pencil, Milani Most Natural Lip Pencil, MAC Nymphette Lip Gloss and (I can’t remember the brand but it’s nothing high end) oil-blotting sheets.

Tangie W Avatar

Chanel Hydra Beauty lip balm
Chanel Kabuki
Mac blot power
Shiseido blot sheets
Whatever lipstick I’m wearing lately Nars Crusing
Mini Caudalie grape water

Bj Avatar

So surprised nobody said mac fix + charged water. Great to spray on after adding on additional layers of powder and bronzer, which I also keep in my bag. Also use mac pp pressed trans powder, clean and clear oil absorbing sheets, perfume samples and lip stuff.

Janelle Avatar

I have started to use the Mario Badescu Rose Water. Seems to be the same for during the day touchups and is only $7. I spray it whenever I need a pick me up during the day 🙂

Donna Avatar

Chestnut lip pencil, sample size Smokey Extravagant, a black liner, a neutral lipstick and powder compact. I usually only touch up the lipstick. Everything else is for just in case. Also a small vial of cologne.

Susan Dowman Nevling Avatar

I usually carry too much but when I sort it out and eliminate extras, I keep a lipstick and gloss, a concealer and a pressed powder.

Michelle Avatar

In my purse, I often have blotting sheets, stick concealer, powder foundation, brow pencil, concealer and small powder brushes, and whatever lip product(s) I foresee wanting to apply between/after classes. Recommendations for oil-banishing powder would be great.

In my purse I keep the daily lipstick and lip liner. In my desk at work I could do a whole face if needed. I keep those products that did not work real well but are usable. Powder , blush, brow pencil, eye shadow and an eye liner. Also a sharpener. I hate pulling out that lip liner and its dullsville. Clear nail polish. A glass file and a buffer. Nail polish remover pads. A few perfume samples. Shout stain removing pads single use. And a mascara sample. Is this a little excessive?

Marina Avatar

I keep some eyeliner, a mini mascara, Chanel Le Beige, 2 lipsticks the one I’m wearing at the day and darker or lighter color ( I like to have the option of changing my lip color during the day) and some lipbalm.

makura Avatar

I keep q-tips and a tiny bottle of non oily makeup remover to clean up under eye smudges. I also carry lip liner and lip stick of the day, as well as black eye pencil to retouch waterline, and lastly, blotting papers and mattifying powder.

Elizabeth Avatar

I have a MAC C25 Studio Fix powder, a couple of clean flocked sponges, a few different mini brushes from various palettes that fit in my bag, an Urban Decay Gash lipstick, (old formula), a pack of Tatcha Aburtorigami blotting papers, a Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, a travel size tube of Benefit They’re Real mascara, a Tweezerman lash comb, Supergoop sunscreen/serum, and a couple of old Urban Decay lip brushes. Sometimes another lipstick or an eyeliner, depends on where I am going and what I am wearing that day as far as makeup goes.

Heidi Avatar

Translucent powder(elf), eyeliner(milani today), lipstick(Flower Gingerlily today), concealer(elf concealer/highlight), and mascara(milani total lash cover). With this I can touch up or make a look from scratch if I left the house without makeup.

Ryou Avatar

Usually my lip color of the day and Palladio Rice Paper (the one with powder on one side) in Translucent. If I’m wearing full eye make-up I might bring my eyeliner and inner corner eyeshadow with a small brush as well, as my eye make-up tends to go patchy around that area due to my watery eyes.

Helene Avatar

It does depend a bit on what I’m doing during the day.
I always have blotting papers, at the moment from Chanel, and the lip product of the day. a lipbalm and a handcreme.

Sophia B. Avatar

blotting sheets, nyc smooth skin pressed powder, lip balm, and whatever lipstick I’m wearing that day: most recently revlon jungle peach.
