What beauty brands do you wish were available in your country?

What beauty brands do you wish were available in your country? (Or at least, more readily available/accessible!)

Sleek Makeup, Hakuhodo (accessibility), RMK, Suqqu… I tend not to look at brands that I know are very hard to get here!

Oh man I WISH we had Urban Decay in Australia SO much! Tarte also. Those are my top two! I’d be swimming in them if a) I could afford to and b) if they were more readily available.

Joanna Avatar

RMK, Lunasol, Etude House, Kuan Yuan Lian
there are lots of Asian brands that I like but it’s hard to find in the states.
by the way I usually purchase it on sasa.com (be ware that it ships internationally = slow)

Shelly Avatar

I wish Bourjois was back in the US (while it’s available through ASOS, it’s only a limited selection of products, from what I can see). Also: Sleek, Collection (formerly Collection 2000), Catrice (seems like they’ve got some great products at very affordable prices), Kiko.

Christina Avatar

Totally agree about each and every one of those brands! Sleek ships to the US, but I wish there was a store that I could go to, and that that the Neon palette was okay’d to be shipped here.

ling Avatar

rimmel, sonia kashuk, sigma, sephora, inglot, illamasqua, occ, sugarpill, lime crime.. we have to order online just to have these makeups. 🙁

Deanna Avatar

Urban Decay, No.7, Boots, Suqqu. Particularly the first two, I really wish I could try out Urban Decay products before buying them on BeautyBay.

xamyx Avatar

Ditto. I’m in Los Angeles, and the only retailer is Sephora, and even within a 25 mile radius, 3 stores even carry the brand. On top of that, the actual selection is minimal, and most items are never in-stock. Yet, *every* Sephora seems to have HUGE shelves dedicated to brands like Dior, Lancôme, etc., brands that I could get at nearly *any* other department store (also, the shelves always seem fully stocked, which makes me think they’re not such big sellers…). There was a time I looked to Sephora for more unique products, but over the last couple of years, I’ve found myself shopping there less & less…

sophia Avatar

Urban Decay!! I live in Greece and the Sephora here have brought some palettes like Naked 2 and Smoked (but not the original Naked grrrr), but that’s about it. I wish they brought the single eyeshadows and these new lipsticks, they look awesome! Thank God MAC’s here though 🙂

Rebecca Avatar

Oh gosh, where do I start?! I’m in Australia so we miss out on a lot. NYX, Sleek (although so easy to buy online) Urban Decay, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Lorac, Deborah Lippmann, Makeup Forever etc
I can buy most of these brands online fairly easy but sometimes it’s just not worth it with extra shipping costs/times.

Asleif Avatar

…I feel your pain <3 =(
I have a bias towards Swedish brands since my fiance is Swedish, so a brand I would really love to try is Isadora, I've virtually tried everywhere and just cannot get my hands on it. =( I'd love to have better access to Face Stockholm too (Dermstore dot com seems to be the only place for international purchases), and some Japanese/Asian brands like Suqqu, Three, Lunasol, Addiction etc..

breyerchic04 Avatar

Sleek and Suquu are two I’ve seen a lot about I’d be very interested in, also your recent posts about hakhudo brushes has been really interesting.

Meghan Avatar

I’ve just ordered Sleek makeup online & I’m in Canada! I couldn’t believe it! It should get here soon 🙂 We have even less accessibility to some brands in Canada, definitely less than the States. I’m in Northern Canada too but at least there are quite a few awesome sites online. The Sephora site is always good, same with the Saks Fifth Ave sited for higher end stuff. I’ve also found some good Canadian sites like devucosmetics.com for Sigma brushes or theBalm makeup, and MAC is good too of course. I usually try to find places that have free shipping, or use lots of free shipping promos like MAC, or at the very least a decent/ cheap flat rate. The down side to practically only internet accessibility (other than making a quick plane trip south…) is no swatching in person, and foundation can be a guessing game (but thank you Christine for the matrix! What a life saver!!).

Jenn H. Avatar

Milk, a skincare line from Australia by Olympic swimmer Michael Klim. Really could use their sunscreens (which are waterproof and dry touch similar to Peter Thomas Roth’s formula- only their’s is discontinued) and lotions for dry skin for my legs.
I mean they do ship to the US… but shipping isn’t worth $40. Best way to get it cheap is have a family buy it and send it over to the US. (shipping will be cheaper at least… or free shipping)

Tasneema Avatar

If there were Sleek Cosmetics & Motive Cosmetics store fronts in the USA, that’d be awesome! Have heard about both of them a lot, but I’m not really too fond of online shopping! 🙁

N Avatar

Nars, Tom Ford, Suqqu, D&G, Hourglass, Shu Uemura, Burberry, Le Metier, Edward Bess, Cle de Peau, OCC, MUFE, I could go on… We do have TF, but only at one store in the country and it’s not available online, unfortunately. Same for Hourglass and MUFE. Burberry is available in some stores, but only in some of the bigger cities, I believe. It is absolutely frustrating not being able to buy the brands I would like to buy.

stacey Avatar

Ha Ha. Are you kidding me? All the Japanese brands including Shu Uemura… Plus, all the brands that are sold at Ichibankao. I lust after all of them….Addiction, Suqqu, Three, RMK, Les Merveilleuses de Laduree, Jill Stuart, Kate, Lunasol, Majolica Majoca, Chikuhodo, all the brush brands. The only reason that I havent bought as much is because I want to swatch them. I want the eyeshadows, the lipsticks, foundation and everything in between. If I went to Japan, I would carry back a suitcase full.
The packaging, the colors, the nuances…..Estee Lauder and Company can take their products home.

Candace Avatar

I wish we could get ahold of Barry M and Models Own, two British brands known for their absolutely fantastic (and $5-$10!) nail polishes.

I also wish Asian color cosmetics were easier to track down. I’ve seen some skincare items around, but I’m really intrigued by Asian brands’ lip and face products!! So far I’ve found them via reputable sellers on eBay, but in person is always preferable.

Kim Avatar

I live in the Netherlands and just recently Sephora moved away from all over the country. I would love to buy Urban Decay and Too Faced stuff but its only possible to buy online from the USA. Also i like tom ford beauty, collection 2000, make up academy and ELF. I bet you guys will laugh at our stores, by example maybelline is sold in a 1 meter by 1 meter stack. That’s all in every store of a budget brand. I would love to see bigger ones to buy even more.

Marieke Avatar

Too Faced should come back and I’d also love to see Paul&Joe make up.
On the budget side, Wet ‘n Wild is on top of my list. Hard Candy wouldn’t be bad either. Germany has a great cheap brand called p2 which I’d love to see in my country. I live in the Netherlands btw. I’m glad we have easy access to Essence and Catrice, but anything else is either overpriced or not available.

Smugnificent Avatar

Oh my list is huge and I am taking both for my home country Greece but also for Switzerland where I live now. I wish I could find Nars, Hourglass, Illamasqua, sleek, soap and glory, tarte, Bath and body works, Too Faced, Urban Decay (we don’t even have Sephora in Switzerland), Victoria Secret and don’t get me started on bath and body works and even more Asian brands…

A Name Avatar

Most of them. Some of it, like Zoya nail varnish I can buy online, but other things seem impossible to find, like Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash Mascara. Also, I don’t know of any good UK indie companies.

Claudia272 Avatar

Shur Uemura, Charlotte Tilbury Makeup & Max Factor. Although Shu u can order online. Christine u can order SUQQU through Selfridges now. They ship to the US.

Jenny Avatar

Sleek, Bioderma, Barry M, and Collection (formerly Collection 2000)

I wish some of the asian products from brands already in the US would appear like L’Oreal’s cleansing oil and Maybelline’s pore filler

cel Avatar

Right now, because of the Ambient Lighting Palette, I wish there was hourglass here. 🙁
I don’t understand why’d they make it LE.

I also wish the brands available here actually had everything.

Binky Avatar

Bare Minerals, Sleek and Bourjois! Actually, I just really wish we had Sephora over here! I love swatching expensive makeup that I never end up buying LOL.

Laura Avatar

China Glaze! I love their collections so much, but the only way to get their polishes in Germany (and Europe in general?) is online. And I wish that OPI would have more reasonable prices. They cost ~22$, so I only buy them if they are on sale at TK Maxx.

rashmi Avatar

I really dont think there is ANY particular brand which is hard to get in INDIA , if we want we can get them from online sites but yeah paying customs and then shipping charges is little hard plus the latest launches are sometimes difficult to get….
but as the question is “What beauty brands do you wish were available in your country?”
I would say – Giorgio Armani , Tom Ford , Burberry Beauty , Urban Decay , NARS , Illamasqua and last but not the least The Balm .
I have bought all the above brands but from online sites which is “LITTLE” tricky at times .

Nikita Avatar

Nars cosmetics !!!
I so wish Dubai gets Nars cosmetics store!
We have sephora in Dubai, but unfortunately it doesn’t sell nars and has very limited brands as compared to its US store 🙁

Sarah Avatar

I live in Belgium and I wish Sephora (and all of the good stuff that comes with it: Nars, Illamasqua, …) were available here. We can order from sephora.fr, but you have to be willing to pay an extra 9.95€ for shipment everytime. I also like to try out stuff at the counter before buying, so having an actual store would be so much better 🙂
I would also love to see a Kiko store (an Italian brand, most of their products are quite good and not too expensive), although again, ordering online is possible and conditions are better than with Sephora: 5.95€ and free for purchases over 49€.
But since I prefer to try out make-up before indulging, I would be more than happy to see an actual Sephora and Kiko store here, say, in our capital, Brussels. I’m picky, I know! 😉

Erika Avatar

I was actually looking for the “quick brush cleaner” type that I can use in between makeup applications, similar to the Sephora one. I already have the brush cleanser from MAC, which I happen to use every week.. unless you were referring to something else, perhaps? 🙂

Thanks for the suggestions, BTW! I will make sure to check Beauty Bar. 🙂

Mairyn Avatar

Illamasqua! I’m in Perth, Western Australia and they sell it in department stores in cities on the eastern states, but not here in Perth 🙁
Wish they sold Kat Von D here, also.

María Avatar

I would kill for the Lorac Pro palette!! hahah
I also would like to buy anastasia Berverly Hills brow gel or brow wiz, but in my country it’s impossible. Christine, we could make a deal! I can send you Sleek and you can send me Lorac!!! hahaha

Kath Avatar

Le Métier de Beauté. Also Tom Ford, Burberry and Armani! I don’t even know of any local online sellers who carry these brands here in the Philippines.

Bel Avatar

I live in Norway and I really wish we had Nars, Urban Decay, Sleek, and Laura Mercier. But I’d probably still order online from England becuase it’s so much cheaper. The YSL Touche Eclat foundation costs 47 USD in the UK, and 79 USD here in Norway.

KC Avatar

I’m from Barbados, I would LOVE to have Urban Decay, Too Faced and Makeup Forever.

C’mon MAC is down here cleaning up in the department stores I want some more variety.

Jessica Avatar

Sleek, definitely!! I’m always jealous when YouYubers I watch go on and on about their highly pigmented blushes and affordable prices! We really don’t have anything similar here. We do have NYX, I guess, but it still seems like Sleek has that brand beat with packaging and color choices.

wendy Avatar

It is so interesting that we trend to get our hands on some brands that is not easy to purchase in our own country. My friends in Hong Kong who can buy alot of good asian (Japan and Korean) brand make ups want to buy brands like too face and urban decay.

Sandra Avatar

Don’t get me started. I live in Germany and there are so many brands we don’t get here: Nars, Tarte, Illamasqua, Suqu, Becca, Eyeko, Josie Maran, Kat von D, MUFE, OCD, Tom Ford, Urban Decay and more. It’s frustrating to read reviews and then to have to spend hours in search for online shops that deliver to Germany without making the price double with transportation (and sometimes you wait for more then a month to have the product delivered).

Alexandra Avatar

There’s Tom Ford in Germany, but just in the major cities. I know for sure that there’s a counter in Berlin at KaDeWe and you can even call and place an order over the phone. In Düsseldorf at the Douglas on Königsalle, they only have the lipsticks and nail polishes.. as far as I remember from the last time I was there in June. There might be some items available in München and Hamburg.

Sara@colormeloud Avatar

Nars, I still can’t believe that there happen to be no Nars counter in Germany.
Illamasqua, I would love to see a counter of them.
Suqqu, would be a dream to play with but recently Selfridges shipping to Germany eased my pain 😉
Some Japanese brands such as THREE, Addiction would be great to have.
And of course Hakuhodo, wish I would touch the brushes before ordering.

Melanie Avatar

TheBalm, Stila, Sleek, Tarte, Burberry… I’m in France : these are all available in e-shops but I would love to see the real colours..

tzwiggy Avatar

Hakuhodo!!! Chikuhodo, Koyudo, Suqqu, Shu Uemura, Burberry, Le Metier de Beaute, Giorgio Armani, Hourglass, Edward Bess, Tom Ford, MUFE, NARS, Urban Decay, Illamasqua, Tarte, Benefit, theBalm, Too Faced, Lorac, Laura Mercier, MAC (accessibility).

We don’t have any interesting brands in my country (except Guerlain and Chanel). We’re stuck with boring ones like Clinique, Estee Lauder, Givenchy, Helena Rubinstein, Dior, YSL. We finally got MAC here a few years back, but they are only available in four larger cities.

Nina Avatar

Where should I start? Urban decay, nars, sleek, revlon, rimmel, two faced, tom ford, covergirl, jouer, bath and body works (kind of counts, right?) and so on…

Christine Avatar

Technically, not their entire product line because of restrictions between countries on ingredients 🙂 Like ANY product, with enough will or searching, you can absolutely get it, but the question is really about having a brand readily accessible in your country – no restrictions 🙂

Chris25 Avatar

Lakme, Colorbar, Chambor, Sleek, Barry M, Bourjois, Deborah Milano, Faces, and Catrice. I can find some things on Ebay, but for the most parts getting my hands on products from these brands can be a challenge.

Kelsey Avatar

For me it’s Sleek Makeup 100%… I’d also really like to be able to buy from the Urban Decay website (can’t ship to Canada) because they have all the discontinued stuff I want that Sephora sent back to the warehouse.

Tigerlily Avatar

Oh my, where to begin!

Make-up: Hourglass, LMdB, Illamasqua, Suqqu, Anastasia, Becca, Chantecaille, Clé de Peau, Lorac, Urban Decay and Tom Ford (not just the lipsticks which we do get).

Skin care: Origins and Kate Somerville.

Kate Avatar

So many… Le Metier de Beaute, Rouge Bunny Rouge, By Terry, Tom Ford (only the lipsticks and nail polishes are available, although that’s supposed to be changing in the next year), Edward Bess, Becca, Burberry, Chantecaille… A few of those are available at one or two counters in the country, but that doesn’t help much. I live in the second largest city in Canada and it doesn’t seem like it should be so difficult to get brands that are widely distributed in the US. I can order on line, but it’s so much better to be able to swatch in person.

Rachael Avatar

I wish they would bring back No.7 makeup to Canada. Other than that there are many UK brands I’d like to try such as Sleek, Collection (2000), and My Face Cosmetics. Also, would love to try the new Charlotte Tilbury line.

TrippyPixie Avatar

I’d love to see Nivea’s entire range of skincare be available in the U.S.! Whenever I visit Austria, they have so many products that we don’t, so I always have to load up on some! My local German apothecary downtown (in Chicago) has some European brands, but not everything, of course (and it’s expensive!).

Otherwise I’d love for Fa, Labello, and Diana Balsam to be available here. It’d also be great to have Lanolips and more from Soap & Glory available.

Clara Avatar

Urban Decay, Too Faced, NARS, Hourglass, Illamasqua

And I wish many US-Brands would be sold at a fair Price. E.g. The MAC Blush brush costs double in Germany…

CeeBee Avatar

I’m in New Zealand so Sleek, NYX, Milani, the entire Jordana range, Real Techniques and Sigma brushes, Wet N Wild, Barry M, Zoya, China Glaze, NARS (I think you can get this at Mecca Cosmetica in Auckland but it’s like $70 for a lipstick :-P) and BareMinerals.

I order on-line a lot, LOL.

Rosa Avatar

Definitely Makeup Forever! You can order it online but its really not the same thing, you can’t test anything and get stuck with really high postage costs 🙁

Julie Avatar

Wow!! I never realized how lucky I was to have the brands listed (except international-outside of US) within a 5 mile radius. I try to stay away from them, because I have a shopping PROBLEM! I would love to have easier access to some of the independent international brands I hear so much about!

casey23 Avatar

Tarteeeeee!!!! And urban decay won’t be baad either!
In terms of accesibility (or variety) i wish Loreal, Maybelline and Bourjois would bring their lovelies faster to Turkey!

Irrielle Avatar

I wish they sold in Russia Marc Jacobs, Tarte, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Butter London, Ladure Makeup, Lorac, Michael Kors Makeup, Physicians Formula, St.Tropez, Stila, Smashbox, Shu Uemura and many more…
At least we have Nars coming soon, and already have beauty brands like Chantecaille, Tom Ford, By Terry, Burberry, Oribe, Dolce & Gabbana, OPI, China Glaze, Essie, LaRic, to say nothing of other global brands high and low (Chanel, Rimmel, Max Factor, YSL, Dior, Nivea, L’Oreal, Bourjois…). The brands sols locally in Moscow you can see on etoya dot ru and letu dot ru and bosco dot ru.

Jo Avatar

I’d like Sephora to return to the UK but reading this has reminded me that we have Sleek, Bourjois, Collection 2000, Barry M and MUA so maybe I won’t moan too much about it! I think I can get ahold of most high end things that I want, it just involves travelling to the nearest city but I am only an hour away from London which is worth it to have access to all the brands I want!

Robin Avatar

There are a lot of great brands not available here in South Africa (I miss Urban Decay the most, followed by MUFE and weirdly enough, Cover Girl) but what really bugs are the high prices. Even drug store brands generally start at R100 which is about 10 USD. So when I am visiting home I STOCK UP like wild at Sephora and Ulta.

Judith Avatar

TARTE, I’m canadian but I live in Belgium and I’m addicted to their blushes! I did win some new brands like catrice, biguine and Isadora but it’s just not worth tarte.

I also wish lorac and hourglass were available. Oh and OCC. I also need to go to Amsterdam to get Inglot and to France to get Urban Decay and Nars. There is really nothing in Belgium. And OPI nail polishes are 14 euros. It’s madness.

Ella - FaB Girls Blog Avatar

I live in the UK and there are LOADS of fantastic brands which are readily available in the US but not at all in the UK. These include Milani, Tarte, Sonia Kashuk, Kat Von D, Michael Todd – to name a few.

Brands which we can get in the UK from particular distributors (usually online, but not full ranges) include Wet & Wild, OCC, Sigma, theBalm, NYC and Lime Crime. When I want to get products from some of these brands, I often have to find them on eBay, as shipping costs from the US are just so high. Tarte don’t even ship outside the USA! Correct me if I’m wrong, but in this age of e-commerce, that’s just silly.

Liss Avatar

In Colombia we can’t get most international brands, such as Nars, Urban decay, Benefit. Aldo I eish we could find Bourjois, i’ve seen it in the duty free at the airport, but in actual stores we can’t get it

Sarah Avatar

I wish Rouge Bunny Rouge was available in brick and mortar stores here in the US, and Inglot was in more stores. It’s in only one Macy’s in my city, and the selection is somewhat limited. I miss Bourjois, too – I remember when it was in Sephora…

leilab Avatar

I live in UAE (Dubai) I wish NARS, Tarte, LORAC, Stila, Kiko, also we don’t find all the products (or limited edition) of the other classic brand like MAC, Bobbi Brown the news products comes very lately after their launch in USA or Europe !

I am also French and in France (Paris) this no LORAC, TARTE, STILA, CARGO … and so on and we can’t find in France (at sephora) the same palette or new products as USA

Bye

leilab Avatar

And forget some brand for France and Dubai Sonia Kashuk, Kat Von D, OCC, Wet and Wild, Milani

I am lucky in Dubai I can find NYX but we don’t have the new products and they are often older and the corner are messy and they don’t have stock : (

Rie-Joyce Avatar

I want to have a SIGMA store here in manila! Soooo badly!! And also urban decay, lorac, kardashian kollector, anastasia beverly hills, cartier and other uk products 🙂
Idk yet if there’s bare minerals already.
