bareMinerals The Hidden Agenda Ready Eyeshadow Duo
bareMinerals The Hidden Agenda Ready Eyeshadow Duo ($20.00 for 0.10 oz.) contains two shades: Stealth (apricot chiffon) and Undercover (glistening granite). This is one of seven new duos for spring/summer. Each duo is packaged in a rubberized plastic compact with a full-size mirror inside and a sponge-tipped applicator. Each eyeshadow is the size of the average full-size eyeshadow (0.05 oz.).
Stealth is a soft, pastel orange (very much the apricot they describe) with a satiny finish. The texture is soft, dense, and buttery, which resulted in excellent color payoff. MAC Orb is more beige. Inglot #330 is lighter, yellower. Dolce & Gabbana Jewels is slightly darker. bareMinerals Nirvana is more orange and frosted.
Undercover is a dark, steely taupe–very gray with a hint of brown and almost plum undertones. The texture is still soft but not as dense as Stealth. It has great pigmentation. MAC Dynamic Duo 3 is similar, slightly darker. Urban Decay Mushroom is darker and browner. MAC Keep Your Cool is very similar. Giorgio Armani #4 is browner. Chanel Illusoire is more frosted.
It’s an interesting color combination; Stealth is very warm-toned, while Undercover has strong gray tones, so it is a cooler color. They can work together, but it’s not as classic of a combination (which isn’t a bad thing!). Both shades applied beautifully, and they were easy to blend on the eyes. When I tested the wear, I was able to get eight hours of wear with and without a primer; there was some minor fading around the very edges after nine hours when worn without a primer. bareMinerals’ duos are some of the best eyeshadows on the market.

This is a lovely duo and looks just like the kind of colors I would reach for often! I added this duo to my list of products to check out – I´m being more careful with my purchases and your reviews continue to be my reference point. Thank you so much for the great work you do, Christine!
Love the look of this but I’ve got Orb, Keep Your Cool, Chanel Illusoire and UD Mushroom so I might just pass though I do want to try some of these new pressed shadows.
As much as I *want* to love these duos, every time I swatch them at Sephora, I get very little color payoff. I first swatched these a while back, so I thought maybe they were reformulated. So, after reading reviews here, I tried again. I thought maybe they were “gummed” up from people swiping their fingers on them, but when I went in last week, there were two testers I tried that were still untouched, but again, I couldn’t get much color. I’ll be sticking with the loose shadows.
I only have one of the Bare Escentuals duos and I really love it. I’m going to have to avoid their display until I get a little bit more money in the bank! 😉
Hi Christine,
Just wondering, is that darker taupe shade more of a frosted or satin finish? Is it too shimmery for contouring in the crease to you think?
@mini0001 More satin than frosted I’d say – it’s not too shimmery.
This is such a lovely neutral duo.
This looks incredibly Similar to a Stila duo that I own. The colors being “Starlight/Storm” Although starlight is a little more frosty, and storm does not have any brown undertones.
I am curious… I think it’s the first time I see you give 5/5 for packaging. How do you grade it? What’s special about this that made you give it a 5?
@Screamer77 Definitely not the first time! Functional, travel-friendly, sturdy, will hold up better when dropped.
@Christine (Temptalia) I just meant it f=was the first time I saw it, not the first time you did it. 🙂 Thanks for the answer!
@Screamer77 Gotcha! 🙂 Rubberized and cardboard packaging usually does a little better than the average plastic packaged product.
Wow, that taupe is fantastic!
TAUPE!!!!
how would stealth work as a highlighter?
and how does undercover compare to MAC hocus pocus?
It could work if you have warm-toned skin 🙂 I believe Hocus Pocus is darker.
I love the Taupe but the highlighter is just to orange for my skin tone. 🙁
