bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow Duos: The Inspiration
bareMinerals The Inspiration Eyeshadow Duo ($20.00 for 0.10 oz.) contains two shades: Muse and Passion. This duo launches in October, and it’s touted as a solid eyeshadow with SeaNutritive Mineral Complex that is “creamy, silky smooth” with “seamless blendability” and “stay-true color” that is long-wearing when worn alone without creasing or budging. When worn alone, I was able to wear several of the new duos for 10 hours without an eyeshadow primer. For more details on packaging, please read my original review.
Muse is a pale pink with a soft, frosted finish. It’s super opaque and buttery–it’s a dream to work with. The shimmer in it keeps it from looking chalky. It’s more of a neutral pink than a cool/warm one, though if pressed, I’d say it leans cool. Inglot #319 is darker but much bluer–more of a cotton candy pink. MAC Pen ‘n’ Pink is darker and yellower. Inglot #431 is similar but darker. Inglot #356 is yellower but similar in lightness.
Passion is brown-toned burgundy with flecks of golden shimmer. The pigmentation was a touch lighter here, but it still had good color payoff. Here, the texture is on the drier side, and some of the shimmer seems to disappear before it even makes it on your eye. There is a smidgen of fall out when worn, but it is minimal (maybe three or four flecks of shimmer have fallen after eight hours of wear). Le Metier de Beaute Fig is deeper, as is MAC Fig. 1. Make Up For Ever #131 is redder, less purple. It also seems like a much more pigmented MAC Trax.

i always gravitate towards burgundy, i’m looking forward to trying the new shadows out. so far they look pretty good. i’m so glad they’re pressed now.
Beautiful color, very pigmented, altough I can think of some dupes myself.
Two beautiful colors, but in this case I think I’m skipping. I have plenty of purple shadows.
These duos are so beautiful. I really want to buy at least one when they come out. But I’m still waiting on colors I would actually use!
These are really pretty! I love the darker purple, I bet these would be really nice together.
hmm I have to say I liked them better in the palette. I thought the two would be a little more similar to each other. Too bad I don’t see it because the purple in the pan with those gold flecks is goorrgeous!
Lovely shades and I even love the names, but they seem easy to dupe.
I realize this is rather random but what is the difference in formula between powder eyeshadow and blush (and eyebrow powder for that matter). Can I use an eyeshadow as blush and vice versa? Thanks.
It depends on the ingredients, as some may not be safe to be used on eyes.
Love the golden shimmer in Passion.
oh my gosh! That Purple/Burgundy eyeshadow is gorgeous! Especially those small flecks of gold (:
