bareMinerals The Grand Finale Eyeshadow Duo
Debuting at the beginning of October, bareMinerals The Grand Finale Eyeshadow Duo ($20.00 for 0.10 oz.) is all starry night skies with Standing O and Climax. The new pressed eyeshadow formula has a SeaNutritive Mineral Complex that gives the shadow a “creamy, silky smooth” texture with “seamless blendability” and “stay-true color.” It’s supposed to be long-wearing whether worn alone or with primer–you shouldn’t see any creasing or fading. I’ve tested various combinations of shades from the duos and quads, and I’ve happily achieved ten hours of solid wear without a primer underneath. For a review of the packaging, please read my original review.
Standing O is a light-medium gold with this faint hint of green. It’s not really green at all, but there’s just that inkling that keeps it from being more like an orangey gold. It has a frosted, metallic finish, and the texture and payoff are nice. It’s a touch darker than MAC Treasure Hunt. It’s not as yellow as NARS Goldfinger. It’s almost like the golden color of MAC Gorgeous Gold but lacks the greenish duochrome aspect.
Climax is a purple-tinted navy blue with a satiny sheen. The texture is soft and smooth, while the pigmentation is right on. It’s similar to MAC Blue Storm, Wet ‘n’ Wild Earth Looks Small From Down Here, and Urban Decay Goddess.

Is climax similar to Mac’s Contrast but lighter?
Bluer, too!
Haha, wow. The names are a little risque for Bare Escentuals! The colors are pretty, though.
OMG- that blue! I just got done picking up my jaw from that one! LOVE IT!
Wow…so pretty…I love gold eyeshadows! Too bad my Asian skin tone makes finding a good gold that won’t look like I got punched in the eye a bit hard since alot of golds have a red undertone. This one looks very nice though…can’t wait to try it out!
I love the color combo, totally on point for Fall! Cobalt blue and Goldenrod are both big time this season, and I am a huge fan of Bare Minerals high quality products. Avon, Clinique and Laura Mercier make pretty good products too, but Bare Minerals is so much more fun with their color selections and packaging.
Viva la Suede! 😉
Must…have…that …BLUE!!!!!!
No, no & no…I have not at all been impressed with any of these duos or quads from BE. Is this the Sheseido influence over BE – higher prices??? I can see moving into pressed eye shadow. it’s not so messy. But the color sets have been horrible or nothing new and always there is at least 1 in the sets I would not wear at all!
This might just have to be an early Christmas gift to myself… If they sold the blue alone, I’d get it. But the gold is a nice addition.
It looks … small. Not in the sense that I’ll use it up in a month, but there is just something unsatisfying about buying small eyeshadows. Anyone agree?
Same amount as MAC, Urban Decay, etc. 🙂
Oh really? Awesomeness! It must be the scale, then, I thought it looked much smaller!
The blue is really pretty! I always seem to be attracted to blues like that.
As a side note, you have this tagged as “bareminerals eyeshadow quad”, so it didn’t come up when I searched for all of the duos together. Just thought I’d give you a heads up. 🙂
This duo is so beautiful! I can’t wait until these new pressed eyeshadows from Bare Escentuals hits stores, next month. I think I am going to go haul-crazy, LOL!
These were my high school colors. xD;
Ohhh funky. The yellow is a no-go though. I don’t do yellow. Ever.
