I am over 60. And I am interested in a Dewey look. I am fair with warm undertones. My chin has lines, but not bad for my age really. I have white hair and wear it quote short. I think the glow lust would be my chosen one, what do you think?
I tried to sign up and give a password, but it wouldn’t take it, I wonder why?

cel Avatar

It’s self funded. If anything they don’t have the capacity to get the production price lower cause they don’t have their own labs/ a high enough order. She’s not MAKING you buy anything?

Leuca Avatar

She was very forthcoming in her video on it though. I actually respect her more for doing it this way rather than churning out another awkwardly cheap/private label brand like other influencers, and the product size on that liquid highlighter is massive compared to others I’ve purchased/used.

Reidy Avatar

It’s about knowing your worth. Why shouldn’t she charge these prices? I guarantee you didn’t know ND or PmG before they launched their product lines- and didn’t question the price point. Just because she is a YTer does that lesson her worth.

Anna Avatar

Samantha is a trained make up artist that worked professionally behind the lens before joining YT. Like many influencers, she is not the makeup enthusiast who thought it would be fun to play with makeup and show you what’s in her bag on camera. She led the charge to reduce packaging in PR kits for influencers (or eliminate them altogether) and she works like a demon to educate her viewers on products, trends and packaging.
So yeah, her products are worth the price. She knows her stuff and would not allow a crap product out the door.

Amy Avatar

Totally giving me Tom Ford vibes, but more nuanced colors and also was less. TF are $68, these are $39. These colors look amazing and the price point is better.

Kira Avatar

Really pretty packaging design. I love the look of the Smoke Reflect Eyeshadow Duos, especially Defiance and Temper. I watched the release and backstory video and I was really impressed with how these swatched too. I like how she chose to name the shades after attributes that are often used to put down confident women, to draw attention to how personality traits that are a negative to some people can be the trait that other people love the most.

I see she uses squalane, and it’s great how she, right off the bat, clarified this is a cruelty-free brand, so you know the squalane is not derived from animal products. Okay, I sound like an advertisement now, lol. But for an influencer brand, I am genuinely impressed with this launch and I think this brand could have longevity.

Fresca Avatar

Well, technically her brand is cruelty-free, not vegan. She’s stated that the products contain animal-derived ingredients, although she’s working on making her brand entirely vegan. I’d suspect the squalane is plant-derived, but not sure on that.

Lucie Avatar

Like the previous commenter, it’s giving me Tom Ford vibes. And one of my first thoughts when I saw the first photo is “My goodness, that highlight!” However, I’m not in the market for…well, anything really these days, but I certainly can admire them and look forward to seeing more about them once they launch. I’m not familiar with Samantha Ravndahl (only just googled her now), but I appreciate a brand that doesn’t airbrush pores and fine lines out to oblivion so I’ll keep an eye out and watch this brand should I be in the market in the future.

Melissa Avatar

I think this is a beautiful inaugural launch. I have the Tilbury FF, and I don’t tend to reach for my cream shadows, so I likely won’t indulge in any of these. But I’m eager to see more, and I’d definitely spend that kind of money for something great that I know I’d use. Auric seems to have the makings of a thoughtful, enduring brand. Good for Samantha.

Delia Avatar

I wish there was a fair one with beige/gold/champagne undertone. I’m gonna wait, maybe she’ll expand the range someday. I’m curious how it’s gonna compare to Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood flawless filter formula and shades.

Helena Avatar

I knew Samantha wouldn’t spare any expenses on the packaging, but WOW, it’s all gorgeous. I love that the Glow Lust shades are ALL named for jewels (I once had the idea that if I ever had a foundation line, each shade would be named for a variety of wood/tree. Gems are much fancier lol. Sam, feel free to use this idea tho, because I am not investing in that anytime soon).
That said, I JUST bought a mini of the CT HFFfaSYG (it’s yet to arrive, but I did buy it) because I couldn’t see myself using up a full size; Auric’s is apparently even larger at 35 mL/1.18 fl oz. Maybe if I do end up really liking that kind of product, I can spring for the jumbo, as it were! For now, I’m going to hold off purchasing anything until she inevitably releases a cream blush in a shade reminiscent of MAC’s original Warm Soul.
She said that they’re not all vegan. I’m curious what’s in most of them that’s animal-derived. I imagine carmine in Defiance and/or Temper; I took a glance at the luminizer’s ingredients list when someone was showing the box on Instagram, and don’t know what the culprit is. I put it into INCIDecoder, but there are some in there I’m simply not familiar with the origin of!

Helena Avatar

For anyone who can’t wait until the site launches for the ingredients list, here is what I transcribed. Don’t know if it varies by shade, and I’m not sure which shade this was for, as I didn’t see it on the box. Source is Jkissa’s Instagram stories.

Chess Avatar

Interested to follow this brand. Seems obvious what they’re duping (CT & TF) but with better shade ranges & other ethical points. Really interested in the eyeshadows, as TF’s glitter toppers are my perfect eyeshadow, super gorgeous and easy to wear. Curious in future if they’ll be expanding into distributor stores (Sephora, Mecca, Ulta) because thats a hefty price tag to take a punt on something you can’t swatch.

Brian Avatar

Just to be clear this isn’t a better shade range than what its meant to dupe from CT. CT’s Hollywood Flawless Filter had 7 shades prior to the 5 shade extension. That’s 5 more shades than Sssssssamantha is coming out with and the actual range doesnt look more expansive or inclusive than CT’s offerings either. Tom Ford has also offered more than 3 shades of his eye shadow duos over the years…

Chess Avatar

I disagree re: the shade range- more numbers doesn’t mean a better shade range, and adding on shade extensions to include those with deeper complexions often feels as an afterthought, they’re secondary as a customer. Not to mention the undertones. I wasn’t talking about the eyeshadow ranges (lol.. i mean it’s cream shadows & glitter toppers, it’d have to be almighty chalky to be unflattering on deep skin) but instead that with this initial launch & Samantha’s own commentary on the brand that inclusion upon release of products is important, so going forward we can anticipate future products to follow this philosophy. I’m looking forward to see beauty of all skin tones & textures highlighted in the campaigns too.

Brian Avatar

CT’s Hollywood Flawless Filter goes as deep as this Auric Luminzer? The HFF also goes a lot lighter than the Auric Luminizer? The HFF also offers multiple undertones in similar depths? Can we anticipate Ssssssamantha extending her range to better include those she has initially left out? Will she get a pass from you on that? Because my skin tone is an after thought to her and apparently another commenter.

Brian Avatar

“I wasn’t talking about the eyeshadow ranges (lol.. i mean it’s cream shadows & glitter toppers, it’d have to be almighty chalky to be unflattering on deep skin)”
This you?
“Seems obvious what they’re duping (CT & TF) but with better shade ranges & other ethical points.”

Biljana Avatar

I don’t know… Looks like Charlotte’s shades still skew towards lighter skin tones and the deepest tone was just added in her newest release. In contrast, Sam’s new line seems to nicely concentrate across the spectrum (at initial release).

Anita Avatar

That description sounds like a bunch of marketing fluff. And I work in marketing! I wonder if they even know what it means, because I sure don’t. Golden together?!!

Mariella Avatar

This has my attention. The light luminizer and the grey/taupe shadow duo (I’m guessing it’s the “Ego” one) are what I’m looking at but I fear the photo of the shadows might not be that true a reflection of the colours. Price is pretty steep and I’m guessing these won’t have a “bricks and mortar store” presence, so that counts me out!

Lesley Avatar

I enjoy watching her and I like her esthetic (certainly not a stan, though) but I don’t use luminizing products on my face (hello, crater pores). I don’t have any TF or CT products so I will think about the eye shadows. Gorgeous packaging.

DonnaL Avatar

I have zero interest in this but do find it odd that they picked Auric as the name. When I googled it to see more info, there is already a company called Auric beauty that seems to geared towards Indian women. Two similarly named companies both selling cosmetics? Or maybe I’m wrong and it’s all one company.

Vikki Avatar

I’m definitely checking this out! I really like the message behind her brand. I love the diversity of her models too! I’ve never seen an indie non-Asian brand use Asian models before. Means a lot to me being Asian-American and never having ads representing people who look similar to me. Props to Sam!

LK Avatar

What I like about this brand is that it is super thought out top to bottom, and it isn’t meant to be cheap gimmicky junk. I might not have a popular opinion here, but influencer brands are 99% super underwhelming garbage. Fenty, Rare, Huda, KVD (before we knew she was herself problematic) are all successful because their brands could stand without their creators. I absolutely see this brand as doing the same. The market is saturated, but there’s room in the Hourglass/TF/CT/Natasha Denona price tier and vibe. Obviously those brands align with Sam’s aesthetic, so her brand is going to reflect that price point and type of marketing and artistry. I have SO MUCH makeup, I’m happy to buy an ethical, quality product for a little more and stop buying churn and burn cheap stuff with questionable ingredients and ethics. I’m excited to try the smoke reflect for sure, and I am hoping the luminizer is akin to Becca’s primers, because I love them but feeling a little over it and excited something new is on the horizon in terms of a multipurpose luminizer. I often seem to not be able to find the perfect threshold of dewy to matte so I am excited to mix this into my current foundations and see how it performs.

Fresca Avatar

This is a beautiful first release, and I’m very happy for Sam. The packaging is exquisite, products seem high quality and well thought out. However, it’s curious to me that a brand so keen on inclusivity would not make highlighter shades for the palest of skin tones, and not make eyeshadow shades that would flatter deep-very deep skin tones.

Cat Avatar

Had to get rid of all palettes-now in the process of replacing my kit.
This line is definitely going on the to buy list. Packaging is super thoughtful. Product looks like it is wearable by so many. Just beautiful.
