Sephora 20% later this month I will be getting this, and only this STUNNING palette! It is just ?
WHAT??? There’s a Sephora 20% off coming later this month??? Maybe I’ll wait to purchase the Marc Jacobs shadow and backup of UD Mulholland Drive until then. I sure hope it comes to “Janie Canuckland”!
As per Trendmood, the Summer Bonus event starts on August 19th for Rouge (20%).
Thanks, Nicole!
Oh, good to know!
I was going to wait as well, but I ended up with a 15% off coupon and they’re allowing people to add a brush for $10, so I got the palette and a brush, that’s normally $21, for $46.76. The 20% didn’t compare to that deal. I can’t wait for it to get to me.
An EYESHADOW palette where 3 of the shades are NOT eye-safe – that rubs me the wrong way. They’re 3 shades I don’t like (personal preference) but still it bothers me. There are 3 or 4 shades I really like but I have the feeling I’ve probably got dupes for them all.
Eyesafe just means that there may be some staining. These pigments are classed as eye safe in the EU where regulations are more strict.
I would be cautious to say that only staining is the issue. The color additives often used in “Pigment” products in the US are often allowed in cosmetics (without limitation) by EU, but there’s a far greater scope of reactions than just staining (just like with many ingredients, even ones that may be allowed in cosmetics, it doesn’t mean that someone might not have an adverse reaction). I think that we can talk about these types of ingredients being allowed for use on eyes in EU, so if someone is unfamiliar with but feels safe enough trying (because it’s allowed by another regulatory body), patch testing would be a great way to determine that they don’t get more than staining.
Christine, this is a very confusing and possibly significant issue. We don’t really know. For those reasons, I thank you for addressing them as clearly as possible with what we currently know.
Because they stain and can absorb into the skin. If you have sensitive eyes, I would definitely avoid.
I feel like it’s becoming more and more common for eyeshadow palettes to include either pigments that aren’t rated eye-safe, or non-eye-safe glitters :/
I’ve noticed that too and do not like it.
Nicely curated and intense. Swatches look decent. Does anyone know if Carmine is one of the FDA not eye safe ingredients? That’s what I thought of immediately, looking at the shades. Lots of allergies to Carmine.

I like the packaging. But as for the colors, at least half aren’t for me and the ones I like already have dupes in my collection. Pass.
I really like Lituation and Sponsored – I’ll keep my eyes open for dupes!
Those are the top two I would really love to have out of this palette as well.
So where are we supposed to use these 3 shades that are not meant to be used on the eyes? Kinda defies the purpose of being in an eye shadow palette!
In the EU, via CosIng, the most common pigments used (like reds) are fine to use in cosmetics (without limitation), but the FDA hasn’t approved them for use on eyes in the US, so this seems to be why brands don’t have an issue including them and just use the warning to cover potential liability (in the US).
I already know I have dupes for all these and it’s an easy pass. Plus, not too into the drama- just my feels.
This palette is STUNNING but what’s with brands putting non-eye safe shades in palettes these days?
I really like this! I’m looking forward to dupes BC I can’t wear ABH shadow formula but I love the selection here
This looks fantastic. I was worried the shades might be too dark for me, but I don’t think so from the swatches.
Whaaaat? Dark for you? Girl, you pull off the drama, if your pic here is any indicator. And from your comments too, I think this would be right up your ally!
Just got a text that mine was delivered!
LMAO! I do love the drama, but my eyes are really deep set, and really dark shades can make them look downright sunken in like bare skull’s eye sockets. These look fine, though.
This palette wants to come home with me. I have bought plenty of makeup and skin care overseas without problem, including sunscreens that have ingredients not approved by the FDA, so I am happy to rely on EU approval.
I really like this palette! However, it really reminds me of Too Faced Gingerbread palette from this past Christmas season so I will probably give it a pass.
I really kind of like this palette. Will have to evaluate my purchases in view of the upcoming Sephora sale. I am liking that Sephora is offering a few more sales a year. With the amount of money we spend on makeup a year I feel like they can afford it!
No special colors here, but as usual, you make this look very very nice! They look smooth and don’t so lines (which I need). I enjoy watching Jackie’s video’s (she’s hilarious) though I don’t follow closely, so if it performs well, I may purchase to show support of her and ABH (as my second palette for them).
