Look - Quick & Easy Neutral Eye
Easy & quick neutral eye 🙂 This is the “I want to try out a bunch of new products” look — I tried out Guerlain’s Bleu Cruise mascara, Benefit Posietint, and Benefit 10! Yay!
HAPPY FRIDAY! We made it to the weekend. I hope you have some fun plans coming up! I’ll be spending my Friday afternoon studying with my study group, and then we’ll meet again on Saturday afternoon. Sunday I’ll be spending with my family for Mother’s Day! How about you?
You will need the following…
- Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral beige base), Blanc Type eyeshadow (vanilla white, matte), Soft Brown eyeshadow (soft medium brown), Espresso eyeshadow (dark warm brown), Shroom eyeshadow (shimmery highlighter), Urban Decay Stash 24/7 Liner (antique gold), Guerlain Bleu Cruise Mascara (teal)
- Cheeks: Benefit Posietint (cool pink), Benefit 10 (highlighter/bronzer duo)
- Lips: Wild ‘Bout You lipstick (deep raspberry), Desire lipglass (deep raspberry-wine)
- Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Wild ‘Bout You = New York Apple/Rebel
Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base. On the lid, apply Blanc Type eyeshadow using the 239. Darken the outer lid using Soft Brown eyeshadow using the 239. Darken crease with Espresso eyeshadow using the 226, then overlay with Soft Brown eyeshadow. Sweep Shroom eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Stash Liner on lower lash line, and Guerlain Bleu Cruise mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Benefit Posietint using the 129, then highlight with Benefit 10 with the 188. Apply Wild ‘Bout You lipstick to lips, and then top with Desire lipglass for color and shine.

(Just Wild ‘Bout You — I didn’t care for the mostly-matte lip look!)
Beautiful Christine. I, too, went with a quick & easy neutral eye today. Soft Ochre base, with Shroom on lid all the way up to brow bone. Finally, some Satin Taupe in crease and outer V with a touch of Vanilla pigment on corner of inner eye & under highest point of brow. I went with New York Apple on the lips with some Little VI lipglass over it. Great minds think alike. lol! 🙂
Thanks, Nicole!
Your lid sounds fantastic! I love the lip combo!
You look amazing! What collection was wild bout you from?
I also love your hair pulled back with the strong lip, very french imo.
Thanks, Leah! Oh gosh, I can’t remember, but it’s pretty old. 🙁
I love this young looking look, the eye overall. It really leave your eyes simple, charming and fresh. I would ADORE having that Soft Ochre paint pot. Unfortunately, it doesn’t exist in France. :((
hi nathalie,
if you want the soft ochre paintpot or any other mac products, please do email me as i sell internationally to personal clients and i am cheaper than mac itself – everything is 100% authentic and you can get this verfied – i have a return policy as well…

Thanks, Nathalie! I can’t believe it’s not available 🙁
Pretty..
Thanks, Heather!
I LOVE the lip color. It;s so gorgeous and looks great on you with the neutral eye!
Thanks, Emm!
So pretty! Love that lip colour on you.
Thanks, Milica!
I’m in agreement with above comments: these lips are fantastic on you!
Thank you so much, Kat!
so beee-yu-tiful! i want to know what foundation u used for this one 🙂
Thanks, Charlene! I don’t remember the foundation here, sorry!
Those lips are serious. My only criticism is that some liner on top, thin and smudged, would’ve brought the connection between the muted shadow and colored mascara together.
Thanks for the suggestion, J!
Loveee the lips! ♥
Thank you, Aubree 😀
Wow your lip color looks amazing on you!!
Thanks a lot, Megan!
very pretty look!
thanks for showing us the pic sans lipgloss as well…it’s nice to get an idea of what the lipstick is like on its own!
both ways suit you…glossy and matter…but the one with lipgloss as well really pops!
….er…..i mean matte. 🙂
Thanks so much, Aradhana! 🙂
Matte feels and looks SO weird to me, at least in this color. I’m a glossy lip person, LOL!
Love the lips. Not so crazy about the eyes, I don’t do matte or neutral…
Why don’t you do matte/neutral Anitacska?
Oh my god. I’m pretty sure that lip combination is the single most gorgeous thing I have ever seen. Talk about gorgeous!!
LOL!
Thanks, Rae!
The lips are great with the gloss over the lipstick!
Thanks, Stephanie!

from ORLY
gotta go dig through my nailpolish drawer!
LOL!
Thanks, Meike!
I don’t comment often, but when I see something I love I feel like it’s a requirement. This is an awesome look. I love how the lips really stand out and you look totally natural elsewhere. Of course, I would have to tweek the colors for my NC45 skin tone, but maybe I can test it out in the next couple days.
I mean the eyeshadow colors. New York Apple look terrific on me.
Thank you so much, Erika! 🙂
Yeah, with super natural/neutral looks, color tweaking can be necessary to make it pop more on deeper skin tones (or lightened on lighter skin tones).
I hope you found a way to work it!
the teal mascara seems to make your eyes that bit brighter 🙂
Awesome to know 😀 Thanks, Jenna!
Omg, I want that lip color! That might be the best red I have ever seen!
Thanks, Rio 😉
I’ve been looking in maccostemics.com and I can’t find the Wild ‘Bout You lipstick. I hope any of you can help me, because I LOVE the shade.
It’s limited edition, unfortunately. You can try a shade like New York Apple instead!
ahhh want the lip color!! Awesome shade of red there 🙂
Thanks, Bettina 🙂 One of my fave reds!
Hi Christine! I love the eye, its definitely quick and easy, but if I wanted to go for a not so bold lip (I find they don’t suit me) what would you suggest with this look?
Thanks, Laycca! You could wear any lip with this look, IMO! You could do a coral or a berry or a pink.
I always end up using some sort of pink lip with everything because its my comfort zone! I am trying to get out of that habit, LOL!
LOL! Aww, I get like that, too, sometimes. In your own time you’ll emerge from it 😉
This look is my top 5 on you. I love the colors & the simplicity of the look. You look stunning. I’m gonna try this soon. Thanks Chrsitine!!
Oh, wow! Thanks, Shweta!
Amazing as always – ty for sharing
Thanks, Nadine!
Beautiful! I love how you kept the eyes simple so that all the attention is attracted to the lips.. so gorgeous!
Thank you so much! 😀
