Maybelline to Launch Color Sensational Lipsticks

Maybelline to Launch Color Sensational Lipsticks

Due to a new, innovative color dispersion system, the color seen on a Color Sensational lipstick bullet is what will transfer on the lips. “Color Sensational’s pigments are dispersed in a patented polymer and emollient blend. This blend saturates the pigment and allows the color to bloom,” said Debra Coleman Nally, director, R&D, L’Oréal USA. Creating a lipstick that feels soft on the lips was found to be the second most important lipstick trait. Color Sensational formulas address this concern by adding honey nectar.

In addition to the lipsticks, there are 12 shades of lip gloss — using the same technology — and 10 lip liners. Lip items fall into one of four shade families: red, pink, plum and natural, as consumers generally bucket themselves into one of these categories. Displays on the cosmetics wall group shade families together, so consumers can immediately deselect a family they know doesn’t work for them. — WWD

That looks really nice. I normally prefer wearing red and pink lipsticks, so it’d be really good seeing these sorted straightaway in the displayer.

The only thing I hate about going to buy drugstore make up is the fact that by the time you get to the rack, it’s pretty much all empty or all the makeup that were left had been opened.
Either way these lippies sound pretty good.

I’m not a fan of drugstore lipsticks, there’s always something that doesn’t work on my lips … but I guss I’ll try one of these just for the sake of trying LOL
Though I’m a bit sad : no peachy coral-y colours to be seen … well I’ll go for a pink :p

wow, maybelline are my favorite drugstore lipsticks. they’re very moisturizing and they’re pretty comparable to high end lipsticks. my only complaint is the packaging so i hope these look a bit classier.

Christine – I love your site, but its not a “displayer” its a “display”! Thanks for all of your hard work on this site and especially your reviews. They are very helpful!

I like Maybelline’s lipsticks now so I’ll have to try these. I have problems with reds turning pink on my lips so it’ll be interesting to see if these are as color-true as they say.

Assuming they are releasing these in the UK too (don’t see any reason why they won’t ) I’ll definitely check these out. Maybelline are probably my favourite drugstore brand for lipstick – if these are as moisturising as the Moisture extreme ones I’ll probably buy quite a few 🙂

I have a few of those lippies, and so far, I have a very positive opinion on those 🙂 The color payoff is good (though the shades I have are on th pink/beige side, I have a deep red, but do not dare wearing it …yet…)

They are sold around 9.90 EUR at my place, and there was a special offer, -50% on the second lippie purchased! 🙂
