Rescue Beauty Lounge Turn It Around Nail Lacquer ($20.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “dark mossy green pond [with] a vivid, glittering cast of copper shimmer.” It’s a subtly warm-toned, olive green with flecks of copper shimmer and sparkle. I felt like my yellow undertones pulled the warmth out of this polish a bit, and if you have a cooler complexion, it may not look as warm-toned. I couldn’t think of any shades that really came close to this one. SpaRitual Lithophonic is darker, not as warm-toned, and doesn’t have copper shimmer (it has green). Cult Nails In a Trance has a similar green base color but different shimmer (both in size and color). Both China Glaze Westside and Zoya Dree are creamy, olive-ish greens, with Dree being closer in tone but lighter overall–neither have shimmer so I suggest these as a base option if perhaps you have a coppery top coat you want to try pairing it with. Rescue Beauty Lounge No More War is a cream polish (no shimmer), and its base color is a little lighter and more olive.

It’s fully opaque after two coats, and if you do thinner coats, you’ll probably need three. The consistency was a little on the thin side, but the polish still applied fluidly, evenly, and smoothly. I didn’t have any trouble with it streaking, bubbling, or pooling along the edges of the nail when I applied it. It dries down to a naturally shiny finish, and the polish feels smooth to the touch. The drying time was about average. Rescue Beauty’s formula wears very, very well on me with a full seven days of wear with very minor tip wear.

I just got mine yesterday and realized it reminded me of Picture Polish Mallard, except a bit lighter and with copper shimmer instead of flakies. Still love it, though! I hope you’ll be reviewing more shades from this collection – I didn’t preorder Smile and Pause because I thought they’d be the most easily dupe-able, but I’m still thinking about them 🙂

I want to love RBL, but I have so much trouble with the formula. I get tip wear the very next day when usually I don’t get tip wear for at least 4-5 days.

Either way, the color is awesome!

I get a lot of tip wear with RBL too, but their formula is so easy to apply and the colors are unique. It makes me tolerate the tip wear (and the price).

lol – I had pond fish and it totally looks like pond scum! heeheehee!!! I still think it’s pretty with the sparkles tho (the polish, not the scum)

It’s got a kind of 70’s vibe to me, I can picture some lady in flares and a bad haircut swooning over this. Kind of reminds me of my Grandparents house: olive green walls and golden orange shag carpeting. Why do designers keep reviving 70’s ‘style’ again?

A similar finish while not a similar color is Butter London’s Two Fingered Salute. It has a similar copper overlay but a light blue base color. It’s one of my favorite polishes. I’ve been considering grabbing it because I like the finish on TFS but I’m not a huge fan of dark green polish and I already have RBL’s Jack and Anne. Thanks for posting the swatches!
