The original Dior Rosy Glow Awakening Blush (in the original pink shade) – this is before Dior messed with the formula and added a whole bunch of other colours. Also MAC Sweet Sentiment Mineralize Blush (LE). These are probably my 2 absolutely all-time favourite blushes.

The original Pink Rosy Glow became an instant holy grail after I bought it on a whim the day it launched and I’m furious Dior ruined it (and my HG Forever Skin Correct concealer) with their ridiculous reformulation. If you ever want a backup of sorts, Gucci True Pink is an almost identical dupe in both color and formula.

Another example of a brand messing up a good thing. I am with you in that the original was so beautiful. I have it and wore it often before the pandemic. I will have to get it out and wear it again, although I would worry about not getting a replacement. Who am I kidding, at 70 I will never use it up before I die, LOL!!

🤣🤣 I’ve been wearing bubblegum pink blush for years and since it’s become popular, I’ve gone a little nuts buying it in cream, liquid, stick and pressed powder from many different brands. This is why I had no business buying a backup of the original Rosy Glow bc even if I manage to finish the one first one I bought, I have a massive drawer overflowing with color dupes that will last me 3 lifetimes!!

I loved the RMS French Rose ReDimension blush but recently got the color Bohemian Girl and am in love! it is like Nars Orgasm in tone but so much smoother a glow….no glitter…. Just perfect and I definitely go
Ohhhhh every time I wear it. I catch myself looking when I pass a mirror and thinking this is my perfect blush…..

I agree with Mariella – Dior’s Rosy Glow blush in Pink, the pre-reformulation version. I’ve been wearing bubblegum pink blush for years but the healthy satin Rosy Glow formula (before Dior ruined it) was is what made it such a stand out blush for me. Gucci True Pink is a very close dupe in both color and formula so I would recommend that over the reformulated Dior version any day.

I have been looking at the Gucci True Pink blush on line. I am glad to hear that you like it. I would really love to see it in person but there isn’t a Gucci counter anywhere even remotely near me in Montana. I may just have to take a stab in the dark and order it. I looked at all the colors in the Gucci blush range and there are some really gorgeous ones, although I would start with True Pink.

Gucci’s makeup line is an expensive slippery slope but I love everything I’ve purchased, including multiple lipstick formulas, the bronzer and blushes. I bought Silky Rose and Rosy Beige when the blushes first launched and loved them so much that I picked up True Pink and Intense Plum the day they dropped at Sephora.
The formula is soft and smooth with buildable pigmentation, they blend seamlessly and have good longevity. What I love most though, is the glowing satin finish that doesn’t contain any glitter, shimmer and sparkle. True Pink is a classic cool toned bubblegum color that just gives a brightened healthy flush to my very fair skintone. I don’t like blind buying new products either but I can’t recommend the blushes enough.

You are 100% correct when you describe the blush as a glowing satin finish. That is ultimately why I like Summer Love by Ciate. It imparts the perfect amount of color and sheen. That is my true preference in blushes. I am going to pick up a few but may wait and see if there are any left when the next Sephora sale drops. I like the look of all the shades you have so I am glad to hear that you like them.

I absolutely love them but if you have the will power to resist new blushes (unlike me!), I would definitely recommend waiting for the winter sale. I wouldn’t expect them to sell out right away, although the newer shades, including True Pink, may go faster than the original ones but you could always buy them the first day your VIB tier has access.

Now that I actually have it, MAC Blushbaby Sheertone blush! Mainly because it looks like a perfectly natural flush on me. And coming into autumn, I am beginning to feel like using my Burnt Pepper again, too!

There’s also 2 Nars blushes that always make me fall in love with them all over again every time I use them: Fetishized and Adrenaline!

Funny you should mention Plan 9 Christine! After I saw it as a dupe for Chanel de Fantaisie I started looking for it. I saw that at the time you did the review it was permanent so thought I would find it easy. Cannot find one anywhere, LOL! I tried secondary markets and also sent a message to Lethal Cosmetics to see if they ever plan on re-releasing. Haven’t heard back from them. I did find several others that look nice though. I have also ordered the Kevin Aucoin that was a 95% match. With what I have right now and what I have loved historically, I would say Ciate Summer Love although it is an unusual choice for me in that it is a peach shade with a warm undertone but that may be why I like it. It just sits beautifully on my skin and provides a very realistic summer flush. I also absolutely love Sisley Paris Le Orchidee Illuminating Blush in Rose. I had ordered it from Toshiya in Japan when it first launched and was not available anywhere in the US or Europe and he got it to me in record time. I use it gently as I am trying to keep the embossing and overspray as long as possible. I do have it in Coral also that I purchased after it was available here but I hardly use it. I prefer the rose shade.

Half Magic Cheek Flush in Only Drama. Easily the most unique and beautiful purple blush I have EVER seen.

Glossier’s Haze.

About Face Cheek Freak in Score.

And, though long discontinued, Lancôme’s “Midnight Rose” was perfection and there’s really nothing comparable on the market now.

Deborah S. Avatar

I don’t remember seeing Lancome’s Midnight Rose and went searching to see the shade. Not sure if it is the right one as it seems that the brand released a different shade with that name in the US as compared to the Asian market. I have always been frustrated by brands releasing different products in different countries. I know that the Asian market enjoys less pigmentation in their products and brands likely think they won’t sell well in other countries but I can appreciate a lighter pigmentation, now that I am older. The blush that I saw was a beautiful shade! I hope that you own it!
