Vanilla, strawberry and apple. Something fresh and light but also warm. But it can’t be cheap smelling, like candy or kids’ bath gel. It has to be a developed scent.

Is jasmine, jasmine and jasmine an acceptable answer?? If not, jasmine, peony and sandalwood.
I love a narcotic jasmine based warm floral (Mugler’s Alien has been my favorite for years) year round but in spring/summer, I like softer cool or aquatic florals with peony, wisteria, lilac and/or of course, jasmine like, Dior Blooming Bouquet and Nest Wisteria Blue. I really dislike citrus, spicy, gourmand and overly sweet (vanilla) notes

From Sephora concerning TF Black Orchid
Key Notes: Black Orchid, Black Truffle, Patchouli

Fragrance Description: Black Orchid Eau De Parfum opens with aphrodisiacal black truffle and narcotic ylang ylang—touched with effervescent bergamot and bitter orange. Rum-soaked, sweet black plum surrounds the perfume‘s black orchid extract, while woody patchouli and creamy vanilla wrap the orchid in rich warmth

There is something about patchouli! My neighbor had a Bath & Body Works vanilla patchouli plug in home fragrance and I had to run and buy 2 the next day! I also love amber and some musk notes.

Citrus, white flowers and cedar! Tea and greenery is always welcome. Relaxing by Shiseido was my favorite for years. Even though it’s classified as a woody, green, aromatic scent, it lingered as a fresh and calming scent. I miss that fragrance!

Of the top of my head I would have said sandalwood, fig and coffee. I then looked up the notes of my favorite perfumes in Fragrantica, and it turns out the top 3 common nominators of my faves are: sandalwood, vanilla (which I didn’t expect as I do not like any obvious vanilla scent) and musk (another surprise, as I assosiate musk with scents that are too overpowering to my taste). Eye-opening exercise!

Vanilla, Sandalwood and maybe Jasmine. I like Mugler Alien and Cara described it as a “narcotic jasmine based warm floral” .
I have a very hard time deciding the different notes in a scent, something wrong with my sense of smell, perhaps, but I love the pure vanilla scent as well as pure sandalwood.
I also like quite spicy scents, like the originals YSL Opium.
I think I lean toward warm scents and I absolutely dislike anything citrus-y for myself.

I think it’s much easier if I list the three that I DON’T gravitate toward 😉 Those would be lily of the valley, tuberose and vetiver. Aside from those, anything else goes.
