Formula Overview
$22.00/0.04 oz. - $550.00 Per Ounce
The formula is described as being "water-resistant" and "blends, builds, and layers seamlessly for fadeproof wear all day" that can be "blend[ed]" for a wash of color or "lined" directly. The over-sized pencils have a very creamy formula that was soft and emollient, but I often found they were too soft and more prone to breaking or leaving behind clumps of product, so you had to use a very light hand and go back over any area with a brush to smooth it out.
On the upside, all that creaminess led to semi-opaque to opaque coverage in a single stroke, which made the product easy to use an eyeliner or for all over the lid (as it was comfortable to use). The downside, of course, was the creaminess resulted in shorter wear and something that was more prone to creasing. As an eyeshadow, they tended to crease after three to four hours, and if I sheered it out for more of a wash of color on the lid, four to five hours. It was a bit longer-wearing as an eyeliner at five to six hours on me.

Adventure and to some extent Growth look like great shades for me and my colouring and preferences but it’s a shame they don’t apply, blend and/or wear better.
I had high hopes for these, but if they have such a short wear time on you, on me, they’d be running into my eyes within the hour! They sure are gorgeous, though.
I’m wearing adventure right now and it lasts a lot longer with a primer! Still not that gaggy of a product though…
With these being very much a “love it or hate it” type of formula going on all the reviews I’ve read or watched, it would probably stay longer on my not as youthful lids as long as I applied it as more of a wash instead of a full-on eyeshadow. Problem is, my eye crease fold is STILL oilier than most people over 50! 64, and yep, still oily. Worse? I still get acne during summer!
Oh My Goodness – when can brands get something right? I love the colours of these eye pencils, adore the metallic or shimmery finishes – but it’s like since covid lockdowns, brands have forgotten how to make decent formulas. Or they make ridiculous wear time claims….
Wow! These ratings surprise me for Rare Beauty. I expected more given their other outstanding products.
Bummer. I’d had hopes fior these, especially to use Compassion for my waterline.
