Ideally, I like a moisturizer that contains sunscreen so I’m not layering quite so much “stuff” on my face. Origins A Perfect World with SPF 40 is perfect for that. If I’m using a separate facial sunscreen, I like something light and non-greasy and SunSmart from Lise Watier is just perfect for this – it’s matte, light and leaves an almost velvety finish on my skin. I also really like the tinted one from Australian Gold.

It has to dry down in a way that doesn’t leave me sticky or greasy. Also it must have an adequate SPF rating, SPF30 at very minimum. Japanese and Korean sunscreens have been my go-to for years given how cosmetically elegant they are designed to be, along with more advanced UV filters that are not available in the US due to overly strict FDA requirements.

I think you pretty much covered it Christine…..Living in the desert with tripple digits in the summer I need a really high SPF. Having one that is non greasy and lightweight that pares on top of a moisturizer with no pilling when applying foundation on top….I’ve been pretty happy with Supergoop Matte screen or Unseen but wish they were a little higher SPF…Recently tried the new Dermalogica Porescreen and it’s nice, also Peter Thomas Roth Max Clear priming sunscfreen SPF 45 is pretty good also..

I have to have something that won’t clog my pores and make me break out. I generally use layer my SPF moisturizer and makeup for day-to-day and use a dedicated sunscreen only when I know I’ll be out in the sun beyond walking to the car.

It depends on when I use the sunscreen. But what I always look for are formulas that don’t irritate my eyes. And for me it doesn’t matter if it’s mineral or chemical sunscreen, I had bad and good reactions from both types of products.

The face sunscreen that goes under my makeup needs to be lightweight, mattifying, not pilling under foundation. I don’t care if it has a slight white cast because my foundation is going to cover it anyway.

The face sunscreen when I go hiking or running needs to be waterproof, water resistant, bulletproof, fire proof and in betweens. 😅 I will re-apply it if needed… but I would prefer to stick on me 3-4 hours.
I don’t care if it’s a thicker formula, as long as I don’t feel that it makes my skin “heat” beneath it.
Also, it needs to not have an white or grey cast. I know I am just being active, but I still need to look decent.

Just as you stated Christine. I like my mine preferably to be dispensed in a pump, so you get the right amount on your fingertips; feel non greasy and settles into my skin quickly.
I like a matte finish and one that works with my foundation on top.

I need my sunscreen to absorb fully & dry matte, ideally control some oil. I also need it to mix well w/ skincare and/or make-up. I prefer fragrance free. But I do not care if this perfect sunscreen is chemical or mineral, just as long as it is non-toxic to environment & me. So far that sunscreen has been Neogen Airy SPF 50. Murad Oil & Pore Control SPF 45++++ is great matte spf on it own, H/E it pills too easily. Its a shame. klairs & Kinship make nice airy forms, but need to be powdered as their dewey finish is just too much for me. PanOxyl AM makes a nice affordable mineral option if u can deal with a bit of white cast. I think every SPF has some kind of issue bc when u use the actual amount you are supposed to, there’s gona be an issue with something. Lol
