Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Matte Revolution Lipstick. I caved in to the hype and bought it earlier this year. Although the color is perfectly gorgeous, the formula was very disappointing. It does not go on smoothly, it emphasizes my lip lines, and I constantly have to reapply it throughout the day.
(Side note: As I mentioned in a reply to another post, Milani Color Fetish Lipstick in the shade Secret is an excellent dupe with a much nicer formula, and only $9 vs $34 for CT.)
Briogeo products… I keep retrying them because everybody loves them and they still do nothing for my hair. 😅
Oden’s Eye eyeshadow. Small beauty rave about this brand so I tried a palette. On the plus side it’s an affordable brand. On the negative, it’s noticeably poor in quality. Dry, scratchy, chalky mattes. Lackluster shimmers. Great people have a collab with an indie brand. Still overhyped and not worth the price.
Because the tube I received looks VERY different than what I was expecting shade wise, Natasha Denona I Need A Nude Noa Lipstick. Mine looks downright GREIGE, it is still usable, but nowhere near as pretty as I have seen it look on others. Just a batch issue? Or a mislabeling? Idk.
Pat McGrath Bronze Bliss and Nude Allure 5-pan eyeshadow palettes. Color, texture were brilliant; staying power not good for my eyes…too much creasing in a relatively short period of time. And now I am learning first-hand about the lack of customer serrvce as I try to get a refund for products that have been returned. Big disappointment.
Omg! So I have acquired several mothership palettes, but managed to avoid ordering directly from her website… until this Black Friday. I ordered a lipstick a day of two after Black Friday and placed another order a couple of days after that. I JUST received my second order, but the lipstick order never came. I had to email them twice for them to tell me it was out of stock and they were “working on” stock notifications and automatic refunds… PML is a multi billion dollar company, that should have been in place years ago. customers should not have to chase down a representative for their order’s whereabouts or refunds!
The makeup by Mario ethereal eye palette didn’t work out for me either! I so wanted to love it!… the formula was just not the best.

I’ve bought relatively little the last few years, and haven’t had anything awful. So, the last thing was probably the Melt 420 Palette. All the fun, grungy colors were so, so bad. Under pigmented and unbendable. (Sorry to beat a dead horse with this one )
Dior Rosy Glow blush, the pink tone. It’s a VERY small compact. The tone is typical and there are a ton of dupes that would have done the same. Well, we have terrific dupes listed here that I already had so…my bad. For ex: I already have and have been using Bobbi Brown Pale Pink for eons. I actually think the BB Pale Pink is a bit prettier. I love my Dior Rosy Glow; I’m just saying it had a considerable price point and I already had something that was almost the SAME. Check Temptalia, gals. I cannot begin to say how many times I’ve been jonesing for some lipstick shade and I already have had like ten shades just like it. Then I realize I’m just listening to hype and not facts. I’ve also found I am SUCH a creature of habit and typically just want the same exact shades again and again and the only difference is brand and packaging. I will say I have not bought any eyeshadows as of late, nor lipsticks.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in 05 Nude Pop. I know so many people love it, but for me, I can hardly see it on my skin even though I try to build it up. I usually end up adding another, slightly more vibrant blush on top. My skin tone is light neutral so it surprises me that the blush isn’t showing on me, but I guess it’s the lack of contrast.
