What would you gift to someone who loves skincare?
Gift card would make the most sense since skincare can be hard to predict for someone else, but I’d also consider getting some Dr. Jart+ hydration masks.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Kiehl’s Creme de Corps lotion. I learned about it when my mom gave it to me as a gift decades ago. Since then, I’ve given it as a gift to a few people and made converts of them, too. (And even if someone already uses it, I’m sure they’d appreciate getting more!)
If I already know what they love using in their routine, I may buy them one of their favorite items. If inexpensive like The Ordinary, Inkey List or something like that, I may put together a little trio.
However, with skincare being such a personally subjective thing (what works for me may not also work for you), I definitely agree with you about a gift card in many instances.
I know I’ve answered “gift card” for just about every question but skin care, body care, fragrance and cosmetics are all such personal preferences (and there’s always the issue of skin sensitivity too) so I would, once again, go the gift card route or replenish something I know they use and like.
This is my speciality! For the past 3-4 years I have been giving my DIL a skincare and beauty bag for Christmas and I would only do this for someone I knew well and knew their preferences.
The Ordinary and Inkey List have some supreme products that don’t cost the earth – the Squalene cleanser, moisturiser, Moroccan Argon Oil and for the Inkey List – their HA Serum.
I also include Neutragena’s Hydro Boost Moisturising gel, cleanser and Hydro Boost as well.
A really good sunscreen – either La Roche Posay’s 50+, Dermaveen’s Sensitive 50+ Facial Sunscreen, plus random items from Swisse, Essano, A’kin and Antipodes.
I wouldn’t presume to give someone I don’t know well skincare – so a gift card would be in order.
I wouldn’t spend this much $$ on anyone else (haha) but I think a Tatcha set of some kind would make for a gorgeous gift. Luxurious, beautifully packaged, and primarily gentle, effective, fairly universal products that everyone can enjoy.
Gift card for a facial at a nice salon or spa.
COSRX Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence 100ml / 95% Galactomyces/Hydrate and Brighten/Niacin – it is at Ulta and on Amazon. Most people don’t use this and it has been a great addition to my routine. I apply it after toner and before moisturizer and it helps my skin absorb moisture better and look luminous.
